Syosset HS Girls Tennis team honored

Water district thanks community for toy donations

The Plainview Water District (PWD) is proud to announce the successful completion of its annual Toys for Tots Holiday Collection Drive, made possible by the incredible generosity of the Plainview-Old Bethpage community. This year, the District collected more than 200 toys, all of which were donated to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation to help bring joy to children and families in need during the holiday season. “The outpouring of support we continue to see each year is truly heartwarming,” said PWD Commissioner Marc Laykind. “Our residents once again stepped up

to make the holidays brighter for those who need it most. The Plainview-Old Bethpage community’s compassion and generosity never cease to inspire us.” The Plainview Water District served as an official drop-off site for the Toys for Tots program from November through December 19th, collecting new, unwrapped toys from residents, businesses and local organizations. The initiative, part of the District’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, continues to be one of its most cherished holiday traditions. “Participating in Toys for Tots See page 6

Prior to the start of the Wednesday, Dec. 17 meeting of the full Nassau County Legislature, Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) and Legislator Samantha Goetz (R – Oyster Bay) led their colleagues in a special presentation honoring the Syosset High School Girls’ Tennis team. This season, the young

athletes made history by capturing Syosset's first-ever NYSPHSAA Large Schools Girls Tennis Championship, prevailing in a rematch with last year’s winners, Horace Greeley. The victory caps off an amazing run for Syosset girls’ tennis in which they have captured three straight Long Island championships – and four of the last five Coun-
