Welcome To Rotary DID YOU KNOW THAT ROTARY IS THE WORLD’S LARGEST SERVICE ORGANIZATION of business and professional leaders with 34,000 clubs throughout the world? Incorporated in 1925, today, the Mineola-Garden City Rotary Club welcomes as members individual businesses, corporations, schools, houses of worship and Garden City residents. Join us! Traditionally, the Club has meets on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at the Garden City Hotel throughout the year at 1:215-1:30. However, throughout the Covid Pandemic, the Hotel had not been providing lunch service, and Rotary had met virtually. Currently, lunch Diane Marmann, President, Mineola-Garden meetings are held at Calogero’s restaurant on Franklin Avenue City Rotary Club where the Club will continue to meet until the Hotel resumes lunch service. The Club continues to feature noteworthy speakers from a cross -section of the professions. With its motto, “Service Above Self,” all Rotary clubs focus on various services which impact their respective communities and beyond.

MINEOLA-GARDEN CITY ROTARY CLUB SERVES THE COMMUNITY AND BEYOND • ROTACARE: Created by the Mineola-Garden City Rotary Club in 1992, RotaCare provides free medical care for those In need. • GIFT OF LIFE: (A crusade of the heart) - Life saving cardiac surgery for children from 3rd world countries all over the world. • POLIO: has participated in successful efforts to eradicate Polio throughout the world. • SCHOLARSHIPS: Annual scholarships are awarded to a graduating, qualifying senior from both Garden City and Mineola High Schools. • RYLA: Club supports the Rotary Youth Leadership Program (RYLA), along with the Youth Exchange Program of Rotary District 7255. • SALVATION ARMY: Rotary volunteers ring the bell each holiday season for contributions towards the Army’s good works. • SUPPORTS ANNUAL ALFORD FAMILY THANKSGIVING DAY PROGRAM for homebound senior citizens and those in need. • SUPPORTS ROTARY FOUNDATION: Object: to achieve world understanding and peace through international charitable and educational programs. • INTERACT: Rotary-sponsored service club for young people, ages 14-18. Object: to develop meaningful service projects and leadership skills. • EVENTS: 2020 Virtual Rotary Holiday Celebration - December 7. • AWARDS – “Community Service Award” presented annually to deserving individuals or organizations. • MASK PROJECT: Distributed 10,000 masks to various charitable organizations during the Covid-19 Pandemic, and distributed signs to support first responders. • FOOD DRIVE: Held enormous food drive to assist “For the Love of Pete’s Pantry with food items for Thanksgiving • EVENTS: Holiday Luncheon Party December 13, 12 Noon, Garden City Hotel
