The museum offers a lot of activities to choose from, including seeing the new exhibitions, and taking part in family and virtually scheduled programs. There are also many different types of classes available, including art-activities-onthe-go, Music at the Museum, and the Outdoor Adventures: Sculpture Search and Land Art Activity. Virtual programs are also available including Touring the NCMA Sculpture Garden and a variety of painting and drawing classes.

The Cradle of Aviation Museum is an aerospace museum located in Garden City, to commemorate Long Island’s part in the history of aviation.

It is located on land once part of Mitchel Air Force Base which, together with nearby Roosevelt Field and other airfields on the Hempstead Plains, was the site of many historic flights. There are many things to do at the Museum, including checking out over 75 air and spacecraft exhibits, a retro video game exhibit, with over 50 playable classical arcade games and gazing at the stars in the state-of-the-art all digital system planetarium.

Clark Botanic Garden is a 12-acre living museum and educational facility. We are dedicated to understanding and appreciating the world’s plant life through horticulture, education and research. Collections at the garden include native spring wildflowers, conifers, roses, perennials, daylilies, wetland plants, rock garden plants, herbs, butterfly plants, medicinal plants and over a dozen collections of particular plant families. Take in all the natural beauty at the Pollinator and Rain Gardens, or if you choose not to visit just yet, you can take a virtual tour with Educational Director, Glenn Aldrige.

It’s not just all about books at the Garden City Public Library. There are a lot of great upcoming programs for people of all ages including, Holiday Bauble Ornaments for Community Service, where people can earn community service by painting Holiday Bauble ornaments for the Library’s Teens and Tweens Departments tree ornament, and Crafts for Grades K-2 and Teens and Tweens Dungeons & Dragons fantasy roleplaying games.

Exciting indoor pool and fitness complex open to town residents seven days a week. A special lap swimming period is held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The facility includes a diving tank, men’s and women’s sauna and weight rooms, lockers and a snack bar. The complex is also the location of many regularly scheduled exercise and swim classes.

All of the classes at Gold Medal Gymnastics Center maintain a low student to teacher ratio and are taught by certified instructors.

Their philosophy is that gymnastics teaches not only athletic skills but also goal setting and achievement.

They offer a variety of classes from preschool to recreational to advanced gymnastics. There is also a Trampling Trampoline and a Gold Medal Ninja class. They also offer a variety of other programs from virtual to OnDemand gyms, Kids Night Out and summer camps and classes.

The sprawling Center consist of a huge state-of-the-art gymnastics’ facility with fully equipped girls & boys gymnastics equipment, inground trampolines, a tumble track, numerous landing mats, inground foam pits, plus overhead spotting belts. All facilities are cleaned and sterilized daily.

Hofstra University Museum is the art museum of Hofstra University, located in Hempstead, New York. The Museum has two galleries on campus: the Emily Lowe Gallery and the David Filderman Gallery. The Museum and the Emily Lowe Gallery were established in 1963, and have been an active presence in the University for more than 50 years. The David Filderman Gallery was added to the museum in 1991. The Museum offers a variety of programs including film screenings, book launches, and in-person roundtable discussions.

New York Equestrian Center

The New York Equestrian Center has gained recognition as the only location on the South Shore of Nassau County where the community and tourists alike can enjoy horses in a recreational, therapeutic or competitive fashion, all in a safe, fun and family environment. The Center offers luxurious facilities that offer a comfortable and spacious resource for horses, riders, families and friends. It features a therapeutic riding program and a tack shop that includes merchandise for your equestrian needs as well as gifts and attire. There are plenty of riding lessons, trail rides, children’s programs and Pony Parties as well.

Queens County Farm Museum

The Queens County Farm Museum is a New York City Landmark, on the National Register of Historic Places and a member of the Historic House Trust of New York City. Queens County Farm Museum dates back to 1697 and occupies New York City’s largest remaining tract of undisturbed farmland. It encompasses a 47-acre parcel that is one of the longest continuously farmed sites in New York State. The site includes historic farm buildings, a greenhouse complex, livestock, farm vehicles and implements, planting fields, an orchard, and an herb garden. There are plenty of upcoming events and programs, including the Autumn Dance Celebration and O Henrys ‘The Gift Of Magi’ for adults and little ones alike.
