To encourage better upkeep of the community, secure adequate police and fire protection, maintain better roads and lighting, promote harmony, friendliness and friendship among neighbors, and sponsor meetings of qualified electors for the purpose of nominating candidates for Village and School District positions. The WPOA is the residents’ link to Village government; officers and directors act as liaisons to Village trustees, administrators and staff, bringing residents’ questions and concerns to the appropriate departments. The WPOA sponsors scholarships for Garden City High School graduating seniors, as well as a Student Ambassador program, involving a junior and senior high school student interested in helping the WPOA fulfill its Village government role.
