Many clubs also support the charity in other ways. For example, Newmarket Lions chose Marie Curie as this year’s nominated charity.
Jim, a member of Kings Lynn Lions raises money all year round for Marie Curie by displaying and giving talks about his collection of matchboxes.
Lions clubs join forces locally with Marie Curie regional fundraisers to undertake communitybased collections in supermarkets and other locations.

The total amount collected by Lions during the 2023 Daffodil appeal was £40,518.85p, providing over 2,000 hours of free nursing care either in a Marie Curie hospice or someone’s home.
