The classic car industry is worth an estimated £18.3 billion to the UK each year according to the Historic Vehicles and Classic Vehicles Alliance. So it’s no wonder that events showcasing transport of previous eras are among the most popular days out in the calendar of many Lions Clubs in the British Isles.

Windermere & Ambleside Lions use Eventrac - an online sports event management tool for The Lakes Charity Classic Vehicle Show located at Staveley Recreation Ground, Cumbria. This year it attracted 2,000 visitors, with adults paying £7 and children having free entry. Owners of vehicles on display donated £7, to include entry for two people. Overnight camping was available for those in campervans or motorhomes for £20. All proceeds were donated to worthwhile local causes, including the club’s nominated charity, The Birchall Trust.

Amazing Value

In the grounds of Earsham Hall on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, Bungay Area Lions’ hosted their annual Classic Vehicle Rally and Country Fayre. With 400+ vehicles (including many American models), children’s entertainment, a craft and trade area, live music, plus food and drink stands, adult entry was just £5 with accompanied under 16s - and well-behaved dogs - free of charge.

12 mile country road route. From Boroughbridge Primary to Great Ouseburn Primary school and back again.

Catering at each end by two schools who used the event for fund-raising.

Supported by a local cycle company, Boroughbridge mayor, two warm up artists, and 22 marshals including Lions from other clubs across Yorkshire.
