Shattering Stereotypes: Women Redefining Sales as a Service VEGAN OR PALEO OR CLEAN KETO? OH MY! A STRATEGY-DRIVEN APPROACH TO BUILDING A BANKABLE BRAND BOSS LADIES INSPIRING STORIES
Over a year ago, in January 2024, I took the leap into full-time entrepreneurship—walking away from the security of a traditional job to fully commit to my mission of helping entrepreneurs and business owners be seen, known, and heard. And let me tell you—it has been a journey of growth, impact, and expansion in ways I never imagined.
We didn’t just grow—we created impact. We raised over $9,000 for Pink Ribbon Connection, standing alongside breast cancer survivors and their families. Boss Ladies Magazine expanded from a yearly publication to a quarterly issue, giving even more women a platform to share their voices, expertise, and success. And now, we’re stepping into an entirely new chapter—one that redefines what it means to show up, be seen, and make an impact.
I am proud to announce that LiMStudios is no longer just about branding photography—we’ve evolved into a full-service creative agency dedicated to helping female entrepreneurs and small-to-medium-sized businesses break through the noise, establish their authority, and attract premium clients. Too many brilliant women remain unseen—not because they lack talent, but because they don’t have the right content or strategy to position themselves as leaders. That changes now. We’re here to provide the tools, content, and strategy to help you build a bankable brand and step fully into your power.
To bring this vision to life, we recently opened the LiMStudios Creative Hub, a ~3,000 sq. ft. premier content creation space in the Indianapolis metro area. This is now the #1 destination for entrepreneurs, creatives, and businesses looking to elevate their brand presence. Imagine a space where you can walk in with a vision and leave with high-quality photos, videos, podcasts, and livestream content—all in one place. Whether you're crafting your brand story, launching a video podcast, or preparing for a major campaign, this studio was built for leaders who are ready to be seen and heard.
But visibility is more than just content—it’s about confidence, strategy, and the power of community. That’s why this next phase of LiMStudios isn’t just about creating—we’re building a movement where entrepreneurs can connect, learn, and grow together. This year, we’re stepping up our community engagement with online and in-person branding workshops, live masterclasses, and interactive content strategy sessions. These aren’t just classes; they’re collaborative spaces where entrepreneurs share insights, receive real-time feedback, and build relationships that fuel success. Because success isn’t just about showing up—it’s about showing up with intention, surrounded by the right people who push you forward.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, this issue is dedicated to the bold, unstoppable women who are leading with purpose and redefining success. Inside, you’ll find powerful stories of female entrepreneurs breaking barriers, expert branding insights, a deep dive into how podcasting can elevate your business, and strategies to keep your brand top of mind.
This is more than a magazine—it’s a movement. And as we step into this new era of visibility, impact, and expansion, I’m honored to have you on this journey with me. Here’s to owning our brands, amplifying our voices, and making a lasting impact.
To your success,
Victoria Odekomaya Founder & CEO, LiMStudios Editor-in-Chief, Boss Ladies Magazine
Let's talk about something that is giving "Twilight Zone" vibes lately: the anti-DEI movement. It feels like we've stepped into some weird alternate reality where celebrating differences is suddenly a bad thing. Remember that Rod Serling's whole premise from the Twilight Zone was described "as the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge." That's exactly how it feels. It's like people are scared of what they don't understand, and that fear is leading them to tear down the very things that make our workplaces better.
Think about it: DEI isn't some crazy, radical idea. It's about making sure everyone feels like they belong, no matter who they are. It's about finding the best talent, period. And honestly, who doesn't want that?
But lately, it feels like companies are hitting the "undo" button on all that progress. And trust me, it's not pretty. When companies ditch DEI, it's like a giant red flag waving, saying, "We don't really care about fairness here." And guess what? People notice.
Look at what happened with Target and Costco. Target backed away from their DEI initiatives and got slammed with boycotts and a huge stock drop. Meanwhile, Costco, who's still all-in on DEI, is seeing their memberships and employee happiness skyrocket. It should be a no-brainer, right?
But it's not just about the bottom line. It's about people. When companies say "no" to DEI, they're basically saying, "We don't value your contributions." And that hits hard, especially for women and other underrepresented groups who've already been fighting for equal pay and leadership opportunities.
Imagine going to work every day and feeling like you're constantly being judged or overlooked. It's exhausting! All those microaggressions and biases? They take a toll on your mental health. Stress, anxiety, burnout – it's real. And when you don't have those support systems, like employee resource groups, it's even worse.
Here's the thing: ditching DEI isn't just a policy change. It's a regressive cultural shift. It's like going back in time to a world where workplaces are homogenous, and that's just frankly bad for business. Diverse teams are more creative, more innovative, and better at solving problems which leads to higher productivity, employee retention and profit.
My biggest fear is that we're going to lose all the progress we've made. We're going to end up with workplaces that don't reflect the beautiful diversity of our country. And that, my friends, is a loss for everyone. We deserve workplaces where everyone feels valued, respected, and has the chance to thrive. Let's not let fear and misunderstanding take us backward. Instead, let's push for workplaces filled with people who are curious about other cultures, who understand the big picture, and where folks don't just survive the workday, but actually thrive.

Marketing in 2025 is more dynamic than ever. AI is revolutionizing content creation, influencer collaborations are driving purchasing decisions, and long-form video is reclaiming its place as a major engagement driver. But while marketing tools and platforms continue to evolve, one thing remains constant: connection drives conversions.
According to HubSpot’s 2024 State of Marketing Report, 75 percent of marketers say their biggest challenge is generating high-quality leads, while 62 percent say AI is reshaping content creation. This means the brands that win in 2025 will be those that balance automation with authenticity and leverage high-quality, strategic content to build authority and trust.
Here are four must-know marketing trends for female entrepreneurs in 2025—and how you can use them to position yourself as an industry leader.
AI is making content creation faster and more accessible than ever. Tools like ChatGPT, Canva’s Magic Studio, and HubSpot’s AI-powered marketing assistants allow businesses to generate blog posts, video scripts, and social media captions in seconds. However, automation alone isn’t enough—human connection, storytelling, and originality are what truly build influence.
How to Apply This Trend:
• Use AI to streamline tasks such as content ideation, transcription, and repurposing—but always add your personal expertise.
• Blend AI with real experiences. Share behind-the-scenes moments, personal brand stories, and real-world client results.
• If using AI to generate text-based content, record a video to add personality and reinforce your credibility.
Consumers are losing trust in corporate advertising and looking to trusted voices within their niche communities for recommendations. According to Edelman’s 2024 Trust Barometer, 61 percent of consumers trust influencers more than traditional advertising.
Micro-influencers—those with 10,000 to 100,000 followers—have engagement rates 60 percent higher than larger influencers, making them a powerful tool for brand growth.
How to Apply This Trend:
• Position yourself as a trusted expert in your niche by consistently sharing insights, educational content, and thought leadership.
• Collaborate with micro-influencers and industry peers through guest podcast interviews, social media takeovers, and video collaborations.
• Build a private online community where you engage with your audience through live Q&As, interactive content, and exclusive content drops.
• Marketing in 2025 is no longer just about “getting noticed”—it’s about building relationships and fostering trust through content.
Short-form video (TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts) continues to perform well, but long-form content is making a strong comeback.
A 2024 HubSpot report found that 83 percent of marketers say long-form video builds deeper audience connections and drives higher engagement than short clips.
Consumers are craving in-depth discussions, expert interviews, and documentary-style storytelling. Video podcasts are also gaining traction, with Spotify reporting that 74 percent of podcast listeners prefer video podcasts over audio-only formats.
How to Apply This Trend:
• Create long-form educational content such as deep-dive tutorials, industry Q&As, and thought leadership discussions.
• Repurpose long-form content into multiple shorter clips, articles, and social media snippets to maximize visibility.
• Consider launching a video podcast or interview series to establish credibility and consistently engage your audience.
• Long-form content allows you to go beyond surface-level branding and create content that nurtures your audience and establishes trust over time.
As AI-driven automation increases, human engagement will become the biggest differentiator for brands in 2025.
HubSpot’s 2024 Consumer Trends Report found that 80 percent of consumers are more likely to buy from brands that provide personalized experiences. Additionally, a Salesforce study revealed that 79 percent of consumers expect brands to respond to inquiries within 24 hours
With more brands automating their marketing, real-time engagement, direct conversations, and interactive content will drive conversions.
How to Apply This Trend:
• Spend time each day engaging with your audience personally—reply to DMs, comment on posts, and participate in discussions.
• Host live video sessions where you can answer questions in real time and build stronger connections with potential clients.
• Use segmentation in email and social media marketing to deliver highly relevant, personalized content to your audience.
Knowing what to do is one thing. Executing it effectively is another. That’s where LiMStudios comes in.
We help female entrepreneurs turn their expertise into high-quality, authority-building content through professional video podcast production, branded content creation, and multi-platform content strategy— transforming one long-form video into multiple assets for maximum reach. Whether you need a polished thought leadership video, brand storytelling, or a full-scale studio and on-location filming experience, we provide high-end, tailored content that positions you as an industry leader.

What if the solution to today’s most pressing challenges doesn’t lie in grand gestures, but in the simple, everyday actions of a united community? Transforming the spaces we call home begins with a shift in how we connect, care for, and lift each other up— especially those most vulnerable among us. Human trafficking is not just a distant, global issue; it affects our local communities as well. As the Polaris Project highlights, “Human trafficking can happen to anyone, but some are more vulnerable than others. Risk factors include recent migration, substance use, mental health concerns, involvement with the child welfare system, or being a runaway or homeless youth. Traffickers often exploit these vulnerabilities to create dependency.”
Grace Horizon is committed to changing the way we approach human trafficking, working tirelessly to raise awareness and bring hope in the face of such an overwhelming issue. Through a comprehensive range of services, Grace Horizon offers relationship building, recovery support, and resource guidance for those healing from violence and exploitation. One participant shared their gratitude for our social worker: “You’ve shown me how to have faith and love for myself. You’ve reminded me to honor my boundaries and embrace the joy of life. You taught me to breathe and be kind to myself. Thank you for the difference you’ve made in my life and the support you’ve given me. I’m so blessed to consider you and Grace Horizon part of my family.”
The expertise of our staff means we are offering a network of support for survivors, rooted in best practices and innovative recovery methods. Celebrating International Women’s Day, we recognize the international experience Grace Horizon’s CEO, Audrey Weiger, brings to the organization. Her background in business and management, combined with her victim service work with women affected by sex trafficking in Germany, as well as an understanding of how this issue presents itself in Central Indiana, drives the mission of Grace Horizon forward. But she is quick to point to the team and celebrate their expertise and hard work. Our team includes a social worker, Ray Morales, trauma therapist, Shametrius Bradley, housing coordinator, Marjorie Osborn, resource support and peer recovery coach, Micayla Kinser, and a children’s coordinator, Moriah Fair, and administrative assistant, Allison Glimore. All are dedicated to providing participants with the highest quality care on their healing journey.
The team at Grace Horizon hopes that people know that we all have the power to do something about human trafficking in our communities. Start by learning more and sharing what you know.
If you suspect trafficking, report it to the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or your local law enforcement. Support local organizations working to fight human trafficking. Be a conscious consumer of the goods you purchase and get to know people who are different from you. Advocate for those who can’t speak up for themselves. Together, we can all be a beacon of light in the darkness. Take action today— Visit www.gracehorizon.org to get involved.
In business, success isn’t just about what you do—it’s about how well you communicate what you do. For women-owned businesses, that reality is even more critical. Despite significant strides in leadership and entrepreneurship, women founders often face unique challenges: breaking into male-dominated industries, securing funding, and building visibility in crowded markets. The good news? Strategic communication can be the key to overcoming these barriers.
Strong communication isn’t just about marketing—it’s about positioning, credibility, and influence. Women entrepreneurs who own their narrative and share their expertise are more likely to:
• Attract the right clients and partners who align with their mission.
• Secure funding and investment opportunities by articulating value and impact.
• Increase brand awareness and establish themselves as thought leaders.
• Build trust and loyalty with customers through clear and authentic messaging.
When your business has a strategic communication plan, you’re not just reacting to opportunities—you’re creating them.
Women business owners often hesitate to promote themselves, feeling like their work should speak for itself. But in a world overflowing with information, staying silent means being overlooked. Someone else will fill that space if you’re not actively sharing your story, showcasing your wins, and positioning yourself as an expert.
Consider this: Your competitors are talking. Your audience is listening. Are you part of the conversation?
If strategic communication feels overwhelming, start small:
• Clarify your message—Can you explain what you do, who you help, and why it matters in 30 seconds?
• Show up online—Share insights, wins, and lessons on platforms where your audience engages.
• Be intentional about PR—Getting press isn’t luck; it's strategy. Position yourself as an expert and pitch your story.
If you’re unsure how to build your visibility, refine your messaging, or secure media opportunities, Polished Strategic Communications is here to help. We partner with women-owned businesses to develop clear, impactful communication strategies that elevate their brands and open doors.
Ready for a quick boost? Our e-workbook, Gem Drop, was designed to give you immediate clarity and strategy, whether you need help refining your message, crafting a media pitch, or building confidence in your public presence.
Let’s make sure your business is seen, heard, and valued. Reach out today to explore how we can amplify your voice and grow your impact. Get to know us at polishedcomms.com or check us out on social media!
Polished Strategic Communications offers customized communication solutions that enable businesses to define, articulate, and amplify their impact. Focusing on equity and access, education, and community development, we work to remove barriers and ensure that communication strategies are holistic, approachable, and affordable.

Ever feel completely exhausted—even though you barely got anything done?
You’re not imagining it. Research shows that mental overwork drains energy just as much as physical exhaustion. And for many women entrepreneurs, the biggest energy leak isn’t long hours or demanding clients—it’s overthinking.
Rewriting the same email five times. Stalling on decisions. Stressing over your prices. Analyzing every little thing to the point of exhaustion. This constant loop doesn’t just slow your business down—it burns you out, lowers creativity, and makes running your business way harder than it needs to be.
Here’s the secret: Confidence doesn’t come from overanalyzing. It comes from trusting what you’re already great at. Successful entrepreneurs aren’t fearless. They don’t magically “just know” what to do. They move forward faster because they lean into their natural strengths—the things they already do well.
If you’re a natural problem-solver, stop over-researching and trust yourself to adapt.
If you thrive in conversations, make decisions by talking things through.
If you work best with structure, set a deadline and commit.
Your strengths aren’t just personality traits. They’re the key to simplifying decision-making, moving faster, and actually enjoying your business.
Two Mindset Shifts That Make Business Easier
1. Treat Overthinking Like a Battery Drain
Every extra minute you spend obsessing over details is energy you won’t get back. Set time limits for decisions. Ask yourself: Will this matter a year from now? If not, choose and move forward.
2 . Perfectionism = Procrastination in Disguise
If you keep waiting until it’s perfect, you’ll never launch, never sell, never grow. “Good enough” is often more than enough. The sooner you take action, the sooner you can improve.
Final Thought: Your Business Shouldn’t Exhaust You
If every decision feels heavy, it’s not a sign you need to work harder. It’s a sign you need a new approach.
Overthinking is sneaky—it disguises itself as being thorough, being responsible, making sure you’re doing it right. But in reality, it keeps you stuck.
The truth is, successful businesses aren’t built on perfect decisions—they’re built on momentum. The more you take action, the more clarity you gain. And the more you trust yourself, the more you’ll see that you already have what it takes.
Think about the most confident entrepreneurs. Are they overanalyzing every decision? No. They decide, learn, and move on.
What if today, you made one decision without spiraling? The sooner you step out of the overthinking loop, the sooner your business will start working for you.
Trust yourself. Take the leap. And watch what happens when you lead with confidence.
Rebecca Bormann, Founder & CEO RB Consulting Agency
As a woman with over 20 years in sales, I’ve seen it all—the misconceptions, the stereotypes, and the raised eyebrows when I say I love what I do. Let’s be honest: sales doesn’t always get the love it deserves. For many, the word brings to mind pushy pitches and endless cold calls. For me, sales has always been about building meaningful connections and making lives better. And here’s the best part: women are naturally built to excel at it.
Still, there’s a catch. Women make up only 29.5% of salespeople, and the numbers drop further in leadership roles (Women on Business, 2023). Yet, when women step into sales, they shine—because we bring heart, curiosity, and a knack for building trust.
Redefining Sales as Service
Let’s set the record straight: sales isn’t about tricking someone into buying something they don’t need. It’s about understanding people and offering solutions that improve their lives or businesses. Sales is service in action, and women bring unique strengths to the table:
Empathy? Check.
Relationship-building? Double check.
Adaptability? You bet.
In the modern business landscape, where clients expect personalization and value - and run from pushy tactics - these qualities are game-changers.
The skills we, as women, naturally possess are a perfect match for sales—so let’s lean into those innate strengths and set ourselves up for success.
• Empathy and Emotional Intelligence: Do people naturally open up to you? That’s because you’re great at understanding the “why” behind someone’s needs. It’s the foundation for creating buy-in and collaboration
• Relationship-Centric Thinking: If you thrive on creating connections and fostering loyalty, you’ve already mastered one of the biggest keys to sales success.
• Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Whether it’s negotiating a contract, pivoting a pitch, or resolving challenges, your ability to think on your feet makes you a standout.
These strengths aren’t just for traditional sales roles—they’re tools that help you grow your business, elevate your career, and make an impact, no matter your title or industry.
Shifting the Mindset: Sales as Service
If you’ve been hesitant to see yourself as a “salesperson,” it’s time to reframe your thinking. Here’s how:
1. Focus on Solving, Not Selling. Think of yourself as a problem solver - approach every interaction with curiosity. When you prioritize solving problems, the “sale” happens naturally.
2. Forget the hard sell. Focus on connections. Sales is about people, not transactions. Building genuine relationships leads to loyalty, referrals, and long-term success.
3. Every “no” is a steppingstone to a “yes.” Let’s be real, you’ll hear “no” a lot in sales. Use setbacks as opportunities to refine your approach and grow.
A s women, we can lean into our strengths and redefine what sales looks like. It’s not about fitting into someone else’s mold; it’s about owning our unique talents and creating a space where we can flourish. Sales is a way to connect and make an impact; it’s about being real, helpful, and human.

VICTORIA ODEKOMAYA, FOUNDER & CEO, LIMSTUDIOS, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, BOSS LADIES MAGAZINE
In today’s digital world, authority is not given—it’s built. Whether you're just starting or looking to scale, positioning yourself as an industry expert is key to attracting clients, opportunities, and influence. The good news? You don’t need decades of experience to be seen as an authority. You need strategic positioning, storytelling, and valuable content.
When I transitioned from science into branding and marketing, I didn’t wait for permission to be seen as an expert. I built my authority through content, visibility, and intentional positioning—exactly what I teach my clients today. From launching Boss Ladies Magazine to hosting the Boss Ladies Gala, I created platforms that established my authority. You can do the same. If you’re ready to step into your authority, here’s how to start.
Gary Vee often says that documenting your journey is just as powerful as teaching from expertise. But here’s the real truth—people don’t just want to see your success; they want to see your process.
Instead of waiting until you "arrive," start sharing what you’re learning as you grow. Use behind-the-scenes content to show how you solve problems in real time. Create content that bridges the gap between where you started and where you’re going.
What to do: Stop overthinking. Pick one thing you know today and teach it. Post a short LinkedIn article, a blog post, or a video sharing an insight. It doesn’t have to be perfect—just valuable. The faster you start sharing, the faster you become the expert.
People don’t just buy knowledge—they buy into people. And in the age of AI, storytelling is your competitive edge. Your audience connects with your why before they buy into your what.
Share your struggles, transformations, and lessons learned. Use storytelling everywhere—social media, podcasts, blog posts, and even your sales pages. Make it personal—people trust brands that feel human.
What to do: Write down three key moments in your journey:
• Your biggest challenge
• Your turning point
• Your proudest win
Turn each one into a story-driven post that teaches a lesson. It doesn’t need to be scripted—just tell the story like you’re talking to a friend. This also helps if you feel awkward on camera. Imagine you're chatting with your best friend about what happened last night—it makes storytelling feel effortless.
3. Leverage Thought Leadership Content
The fastest way to be seen as an expert? Solve problems consistently.
Alex Hormozi says, "The fastest way to become an expert is to be the person that explains things best." But don’t let that intimidate you. Think of it as explaining things your way. The way you break things down may be exactly what clicks for someone else.
Create deep-dive posts on LinkedIn or Medium to showcase expertise. Post video breakdowns on Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok to make complex topics simple. Host live Q&As, webinars, or podcast segments to engage your audience.
What to do: This week, find a common question in your industry and create one piece of content explaining it in simple terms. Whether it’s text, video, or another format, focus on clarity. People trust those who make things easy to understand.
4. Create a Signature Framework
Experts don’t just give advice—they have systems, methodologies, and frameworks. A signature framework sets you apart and gives people a clear process to follow.
Develop a repeatable process that differentiates your expertise. Name your method—this makes it memorable and easy to share. Use your framework as the foundation for your content, coaching, or services.
What to do: Take your process and turn it into a three- to five-step framework. Give it a name. It could be your "Visibility Method," "Client Attraction Formula," or "Growth Blueprint." A clear, branded framework makes your expertise tangible—and easier for people to invest in.
5. Collaborate and Get Featured
Authority grows when you align with other experts. Most people wait too long to do this because they feel they’re “not ready.”
I get it—imposter syndrome is real. But here’s the truth: you don’t need to wait for opportunities—you need to create them.
Start small—speak at events, do guest collaborations, or interview high-level entrepreneurs. Be a guest on podcasts, write guest blog posts, or join virtual panels. And if you’re ready to take it up a notch? Start your own podcast, event, or workshop.
Authority isn’t given—it’s claimed.
What to do: Make a list of three podcasts, virtual summits, or panels you’d love to be featured on. Reach out to at least one this week. The more you put yourself in front of people, the faster they’ll see you as an expert.
Your audience is waiting for you to step up—so take action today.
Here’s your challenge: Pick one of these strategies and take action this week. Whether it’s sharing your story on social media, posting a video explaining a concept, or reaching out to be a guest on a podcast—just start.
Want to take this further? I’d love for you to be my guest on the Own Your Brand Show with Victoria Odekomaya. Let’s talk about your expertise and position you as the authority you are.
Then, share your experience with your network, mentor, or accountability group. The sooner you position yourself as an authority, the sooner opportunities will start coming to you.
Authority isn’t about how long you’ve been in the game—it’s about how well you show up and provide value. Are you ready to claim yours?
No doubt you have several friends who rave about the diet they have found that you just HAVE to try. They all report having so much energy, dropping weight and feeling fabulous. You are confused because one of them is vegan, one of them promises that the Mediterranean diet reigns supreme, one swears that clean keto is the best way, and yet another only eats red meat, butter and eggs. Why do they all feel so strongly that the path they have chosen is the superior one?
One of the common denominators is that most of these approaches greatly reduce or eliminate refined sugar, modern grains, and boxed/packaged ultra-processed foods. They focus on whole foods, encourage sources free of pesticides, added hormones, and artificial processing aids, and the practice of traceability of the foods being consumed. What you eliminate impacts how you feel just as much as what you consume.
So, which nutrition plan is right for you? The answer is, it depends. Every person on the planet will benefit from:
1. Staying hydrated. Adding a pinch of sea salt into your water will help push vital hydration into your cells. Also don't forget that hydrating foods such as cucumbers, celery, romaine lettuce and oranges count toward your hydration goals.
2. Optimizing your caloric and macronutrient intake. Knowing how many calories to consume, and how to balance your protein, carb and fat intake is critical. Don't follow the social media influencers that tell you that you need 140g of protein per day. Not everyone does. You are unique, and deserve a personalized approach.
3. Eating more plants, and more kinds of plants. Focus on eating the rainbow. Ensure that each meal or snack contains at least 2 plants of different type and color. The phytonutrients and fiber found in plants work synergistically with your body to aid in optimal function.
4. Focusing on digestion and absorption of nutrients. It will not matter if you are eating whole foods, taking tons of supplements, or eating at restaurants all of the time if your body is unable to properly digest the food to utilize the nutrients within.
5. Reducing your stress. Did you know that when you are stressed, your body pulls energy away from normal digestive function and shunts vital nutrients away from sustained cellular maintenance in order to give you the boost you need to fight or flee? If you live in a perpetual state of stress, the long term health of the cells of your body is suffering.
In functional nutrition, we recognize that every person is different, and has individualized needs. There is no one nutrition plan that is going to work for every person, which is why we focus on the nutrients and lifestyle optimizations that help YOUR body thrive. I had an amazing experience with Victoria. I am not a big fan of having my pictures taken, and honestly was not super excited. The minute I walked into Victoria’s studio I felt invited, comfortable and at home. She was extremely professional, kind and just lovely. The pictures she took, without being edited, are spectacular. I cannot wait to go back!
- Wendy Noe CEO, Dove Recovery House
I haven’t had a photo shoot in a very long time, and this year I decided to just do something different. I came across LIMSTUDIO on IG. And apparently she had done photo shoot sessions for a few of my friends so I decided to go for her. My first call with her was beyond amazing, the level of professionalism was 100%. - Victoria Odekomaya
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
’Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
’Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own backyard.
I RISE
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history’s shame I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise. I rise. I rise.

P30 is a testament to the strength of community, where support and opportunity intersect to create a future of endless possibilities
Tamise Cross Co-founder and Executive Director| P30 Indy, Inc
Tamise Cross, the co-founder and Executive Director of P30, has walked a transformative path, driven by resilience and a deep desire to empower people at large. Her turbulent childhood and early traumas sparked a calling to uplift others, but it wasn’t until 2017—when everything hit the fan—that she fully embraced that mission. With spiritual guidance and a renewed sense of purpose, she saw her pain not as a weight but as fuel to create something bigger than herself. This clarity ignited P30, an organization dedicated to providing resources and opportunities for businesses and families in need. By 2020, her vision began to take shape when she connected with an investor and business owner who recognized the deep economic and cultural needs of the far east side of Indianapolis. Tamise saw more than just a building—she saw possibility.
P30 became an ecosystem where Black and minority entrepreneurs could not just survive, but flourish in their own neighborhoods. But before stepping into leadership, Tamise had to step into her own power. Without formal executive training, she initially felt unprepared to lead such a bold initiative. However, instead of retreating, she leaned into growth—seeking mentorship, leadership training, and surrounding herself with people who believed in her vision. “I had to believe in my own voice before I could help others find theirs,” she says.
One of P30’s success stories is Wendy West, a 60-year-old entrepreneur who launched a podcast studio through the organization. What started as an idea soon became a full-time business employing six people, generating $50,000 in revenue, and uplifting other small businesses. Wendy’s transformation is proof that access and opportunity can change everything.
Tamise’s journey has been fueled by a commitment to restoration and economic development, especially in areas that have been overlooked for too long. She sought to shift the narrative— transforming a community struggling to survive into one that would not just survive, but thrive. This belief in the power of community led her to develop a network of local leaders and residents to co-create P30’s mission. Today, as a wife, mother, and mentor, Tamise is building more than a business—she’s building a legacy of empowerment. Through P30, she is proving that when communities have access, resources, and belief in their own potential, transformation is inevitable.
Are you ready to be part of this movement? Whether you’re an entrepreneur looking for support or someone who believes in creating opportunities for others, P30 is the space for you. Connect, support, or learn more about how you can help build a thriving future. Visit www.p30indy.com today.

“I realized I could do this on my own—create a sense of accomplishment and make money for myself. That was the moment I chose fulfillment over familiarity."
India Brown CEO | PMPhase
India Brown’s journey from corporate America to owner and CEO of PMPHASE is a masterclass in courage, reinvention, and purpose. For over 30 years, she thrived in healthcare and project management, climbing the corporate ladder while balancing family life. She was successful, respected, and financially stable. But something was missing.
"Success was rewarding, but I did not feel fulfilled," India recalls. Watching independent consultants leverage their expertise with freedom and control, she had a realization—she could do the same, on her own terms. That epiphany sparked her entrepreneurial leap, and in 2013, PMPHASE Consulting was born.
Her early days as a consultant were filled with excitement—her first client in Philadelphia, the freedom to travel, the thrill of independence. But with that independence came a new set of challenges. Balancing family, mastering contracts, and navigating the complexities of business ownership became critical lessons. By 2017, she rebranded PMPHASE to reflect a broader vision. More than just IT consulting, she built a firm modeled after law firms, supplying specialized project managers across IT, Change Management, Program Assessments, training, and development.
Growth, while exhilarating, came with hurdles. "The biggest challenge I faced was not planning for growth," she admits. As her client base expanded, so did the need for strategic hiring, financial forecasting, and operational structure. She quickly learned that running a business isn’t just about doing great work—it’s about building the right infrastructure to sustain it. Through trial, error, and relentless learning, India overcame those challenges, emerging as a leader not just in project management, but in business strategy and mentorship.
But her success isn’t just about business—it’s about impact. India became deeply invested in mentoring women transitioning into new careers or life stages. From young professionals seeking a fresh start, or seasoned professionals in career transition, her guidance has helped many reclaim their confidence and direction. "I’ve been blessed, and it’s important to me to give back. We rise by lifting others."
Beyond her career, India prioritizes joy—traveling twice a year, losing herself in books, and reconnecting with her husband after their children left home are her ways to reset and recharge. Her journey from corporate success to entrepreneurial fulfillment is proof that true success isn’t just about climbing—it’s about knowing when to leap.
Feeling inspired? Whether you’re considering a career pivot, launching a business, or navigating growth, take that first step. Seek mentorship, define your vision, and most importantly—bet on yourself.

Casey Harrison President & CEO | Polished Strategic Communications
Casey Harrison is a force to be reckoned with in the world of strategic communications. As the CEO of Polished Strategic Communications, she is redefining how businesses, organizations, and individuals harness the power of effective messaging to drive impact. But her journey to leadership and entrepreneurship wasn’t always planned—it was a path carved out of resilience, determination, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference.
Casey’s story is one of overcoming obstacles. From becoming a mother at 16 to navigating career shifts and the unexpected loss of her corporate job just days after returning from her honeymoon, she has faced adversity headon. Yet, instead of allowing setbacks to define her, Casey turned them into opportunities. What started as a way to heal from job loss quickly became a thriving business. Within just six months, Polished Strategic Communications had already become a six-figure company—an accomplishment that speaks volumes about her expertise and work ethic.
Polished Strategic Communications isn’t just about crafting compelling narratives; it’s about creating access and opportunity. Casey’s mission is deeply tied to equity, education, and community development. Through her work, she ensures that businesses—particularly women-, veteran-, minority-, LGBTQIA-, and disabled-owned enterprises—have the tools and strategies they need to communicate effectively and scale their impact. Whether it’s through public relations, digital strategy, or high-level media placements, she helps clients leverage communication as a strategic asset.
One of Casey’s core beliefs is that communication is a long game. She emphasizes that without a strong foundation—clear goals, defined audiences, and the right processes—businesses risk investing in strategies that won’t yield results. That’s why she is launching a new initiative in 2025 aimed at solopreneurs and small business owners who need access to the same strategic insights as larger enterprises but at a scale that fits their needs and budgets. This program will equip entrepreneurs with a step-by-step framework for crafting their communication strategies, ensuring they can grow and scale with clarity and confidence.
Beyond her professional achievements, Casey is a mentor, an advocate, and a firm believer in the power of community. She frequently donates her expertise to organizations and individuals in need, helping them amplify their voices and tell their stories. With over 40 pro bono projects completed in just the past year and media placements that have reached over 2.3 billion viewers nationwide, her impact is undeniable.
Yet, despite all her success, Casey remains deeply humble. She is quick to remind others that this wasn’t part of her original plan—proving that sometimes, the most extraordinary paths are the ones we never expected to take. Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs? “Dream bigger. If I can do it, so can you.”

"True success isn’t just about personal accolades—it’s about creating lasting change and opening doors for the next generation."
Akilah Darden Founder and President | The Darden Group, LLC
In the construction industry, a field historically dominated by men, Akilah Darden isn’t just building structures— she’s building opportunities. She is breaking down barriers, empowering underrepresented groups, and redefining what leadership looks like in construction.
Raised in Sterling, Virginia, in a family of educators and HBCU graduates, Akilah was taught the power of knowledge, service, and hard work. Drawn to architecture and engineering, she pursued a degree in Architectural Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University, but it was in construction management that she found her true calling—a field where she was often told she didn’t belong. Instead of stepping aside, she pushed forward.
Determined to carve out her own space, she excelled in the industry, proving herself time and time again. But personal success wasn’t enough—she wanted to change the system. In 2019, she founded The Darden Group, LLC with a vision not just to manage projects, but to create pathways for diverse talent. Her firm specializes in construction management, leadership development, and DEI consulting, ensuring businesses and individuals— regardless of background—have the tools to thrive. Through mentorship, training programs, and her Construction Management Masterclass, Akilah has helped countless professionals gain confidence, leadership skills, and careerchanging opportunities.
Her work has already transformed lives. Two students from her Masterclass built multi-million-dollar businesses. Another initiative led to the hiring of 76 new construction professionals, prioritizing minority participation. These aren’t just numbers—they represent real people stepping into careers they once thought were out of reach.
Like any trailblazer, Akilah has faced obstacles. Early in her career, she was underestimated, excluded from key conversations, and told she wouldn’t succeed. Instead of backing down, she mastered every aspect of construction— proving herself not just through words, but through action. One defining moment came when she was tasked with a project requiring 100% minority participation in just 45 days—a challenge many thought was impossible. She not only met the goal but exceeded it, showing what’s possible when opportunity meets determination.
Beyond her business, Akilah is a mentor, speaker, and author. Her book, My Mom is a Construction Manager, is inspiring young readers—especially girls—to see themselves in industries where they’ve been historically underrepresented. She envisions a future where supplier diversity goals are no longer necessary because equity, inclusion, and access have become the norm.
Her legacy isn’t just in the buildings she’s helped construct—it’s in the doors she’s opened for others. Akilah Darden is proof that one person can lead a movement. By breaking barriers, uplifting communities, and staying true to her vision, she’s creating a ripple effect that will inspire generations to come.

Amanda L. Bonilla Founder | Inclusion Consultant Network (ICN)
Meet Amanda Bonilla—a creative problem solver, trailblazer, and founder of the Inclusion Consultant Network (ICN). While many know Amanda as the Vice Chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis, her work extends far beyond higher education. She is a nationally recognized thought leader in inclusive learning and community-building, earning prestigious honors such as the ACUI Joseph H. Benedict Social Change Award and the IUPUI Women’s Leadership Award.
Amanda’s journey is deeply rooted in her identity as a first-generation college graduate and someone who has consistently carved new paths both personally and professionally. In 2016, she launched ICN to help nonprofits, higher education institutions, and businesses foster belonging. Long before “belonging” became a buzzword, Amanda was redefining how people and organizations connect. Her philosophy? When individuals feel valued and trusted, their potential—and creativity—flourish.
From keynote speaking to cultural assessments, Amanda’s work centers on one universal formula: understanding and addressing bias to create inclusive, effective environments. "When people started paying me to share my story and facilitate training sessions, I knew I was on to something," she recalls. But Amanda’s vision has always been bigger than herself. ICN’s model is rooted in collaboration, leveraging a network of skilled, values-driven consultants to meet the diverse needs of clients.
Her passion for equity isn’t limited to consulting. In 2020, Amanda co-founded the Women’s Equity Brunch (WEBRUNCH) Initiative, which empowers diverse women through networking and education in fun, engaging environments. “Women have started businesses, run for office, and built powerful networks because of these events,” she shares proudly. Amanda is also a featured author in the book Creating Space for Democracy and an alumna of the Indiana Latino Institute Leadership Circle. She was previously recognized as an IBJ “40 Under 40” award recipient, further cementing her impact as a leader.
Of course, Amanda’s path hasn’t been without challenges. “People either love me or hate me,” she admits. “Being an agitator—someone willing to speak truth to power—isn’t easy. It’s deeply personal and hard work.” But she has learned to embrace vulnerability, lean on her network, and view failures as data points for growth.
As ICN prepares for a major relaunch in 2025, Amanda’s vision for inclusion and belonging is more vibrant than ever. Her advice to aspiring leaders? “Invest early in systems and people who can support you— whether it’s a CPA, a lawyer, or a mentor. Success isn’t a solo journey.”
Ready to transform your workplace or organization? Connect with Amanda on LinkedIn (Amanda L. Les Marie Head of Operations | The Les Marie Firm
Les Marie didn’t set out to be an entrepreneur—she set out to create stability. Born and raised in Indianapolis, she entered the corporate world straight out of high school, rising quickly in operations, change management, and finance. She thrived, holding key leadership roles in global companies.
“ The moment I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I knew life had to change,” she recalls. “I worked hard to build a future for her, but I also realized success without balance wasn’t enough.” Despite excelling in her career, Les Marie constantly juggled corporate demands with motherhood. As a young Black woman in a predominantly white, male-dominated industry, she had to work twice as hard to prove herself. But even with the opportunities and achievements, as she got older, she realized something was missing: time with her daughter and being a present mother to her precious daughter.
Then, life presented a new path. When the COVID-19 era sparked a surge in entrepreneurship, Les Marie noticed a troubling gap—many minority-owned businesses lacked the structure, resources, and strategies to sustain long-term growth. She saw an opportunity to change that. A few years later, The Les Marie Firm was born.
Her firm became a one-stop consultancy, offering operations management, human resources, marketing and branding, financial literacy, and legal support—bringing a corporate-style operating model to small businesses. “I realized the key to major corporations success— a clear operating structure, financial resources, and strong compliance—was exactly what small businesses needed. My firm helps them scale with the same level of strategic planning.”
Today, The Les Marie Firm has helped clients launch, expand, and secure financial stability, with businesses thriving across Indiana and Michigan. But for Les Marie, it’s not about the numbers—it’s about transformation and evolving businesses. “I’m not just a consultant,” she says. “I’m invested in my clients' dreams. Watching someone go from doubting themselves to owning their success—that’s what keeps me going.”
One of her proudest moments? Helping a client step out of the shadows, someone who once feared the spotlight. Beyond business, Les Marie is deeply committed to mental health advocacy. Through her nonprofit, Les Advocate, she provides resources and support for parents and their children navigating behavioral and mental health challenges.
Her advice for women in business? “Don’t be afraid to follow your own path, even if no one else understands it. It's your vision that only God gave you.” Les Marie’s journey proves that success isn’t just about building a business—it’s about creating impact, empowering others, and giving back along the way.

Morenike 'Mo' Balogun
Celestra | MOB Designs, MOB Delight events
Morenikeji is a mother of four, a devoted wife, and a passionate entrepreneur who has carved out a successful career in event planning and fashion. Her journey to discovering and nurturing her business interests has been one of both growth and challenges, marked by self-reflection, divine guidance, and an unshakable belief in the power of family.
For almost 15 years, Morenikeji has shared her life with her loving husband, a relationship that she credits as a strong foundation for her career success. Despite the inevitable ups and downs in any marriage, she emphasizes the importance of love and teamwork, which have been essential to her well-being and success.
Morenikeji’s entrepreneurial journey began in her early twenties when she discovered her love for organizing events. Over the years, her passion grew, and in 2013, she organized her first formal event for a burial. The experience surprised her, showing her the depth of her skills and capabilities. However, it wasn't until she moved to the United States that the idea of pursuing event planning professionally began to resurface.
Initially hesitant to turn her passion into a business, Morenikeji focused on her 9 to 5 career. But the pull of her true calling was undeniable. Two years ago, during her 40th birthday, she realized how much joy she derived from planning a party with the help of her husband and friends. It was the turning point that led her to seriously consider launching her business, M.O.B Delight Events, specializing in event planning, as well as Mob Fabrics, a cultural attire line.
Morenikeji credits a close friend’s advice and her own spiritual journey for pushing her to make this leap. “I was losing interest in my 9 to 5 job,” she reflects. “I wasn’t happy. The more I prayed, the more I felt that God was calling me to follow my passion, even if it seemed risky.” Her husband’s support and her deep belief in divine guidance played a crucial role in her decision to take the plunge and start her business.
In addition to event planning, Morenikeji also enjoys volunteering in her community. For over eight years, she has contributed her time and expertise to organize events for her children’s school and local community events. It’s her way of giving back while nurturing her love for event coordination.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of her journey has been the feedback from those around her. Her husband once told her, “I have never seen joy on your face like this in a long while.” These words affirmed that she had found her true calling. The joy she finds in her work, and her fulfillment in serving others, have become the pillars of her business.
Morenikeji’s story is one of resilience, transformation, and following one’s heart. She encourages other women to trust in their abilities and seek divine guidance in all endeavors. “God cannot fail,” she says. “If you listen to Him and stay true to your purpose, success will follow.”
Through her business, M.O. B Delight Events, and her other ventures, Morenikeji hopes to inspire others to leave a legacy of love, joy, and fulfillment. She advises women who are looking to follow in her footsteps to be patient, seek help when needed, and most importantly, never lose sight of their purpose.
Her message is clear: when you combine passion with purpose, success is not just achievable, it’s inevitable.

Over the next decade, Ronda transformed that daycare into a thriving business, overcoming challenges in finance, hiring, and marketing while holding a full-time collegiate teaching position.
“I learned the hard way,” she reflects. “I wished I had a blueprint or someone to guide me through the tough moments. Instead, I made mistakes and learned through trial and error. But those lessons shaped my passion for helping others succeed in business.”
That passion became the foundation of Startup Sprint, Ronda’s groundbreaking program designed to empower entrepreneurs to move from ideation to launch with confidence.
