BOSS LADIES

2022 BOSS LADIES

We did it! We made it through the pandemic and everything else life threw at us these last few years! It feels so good to see we’re still standing strong in our purpose and empowering others. Looking back to Fall 2021 when I started the BOSS LADIES CAMPAIGN, I am so proud of myself for how this dream has unfolded and very grateful to God for helping me realize this level of success in the first year.

In 2021, when I decided to turn my over 10 years of photography experience into a business, I knew there would be challenges but nothing prepared me for the challenge of being an entrepreneur, turning into a school teacher overnight to my young boys - Trevor and Jaden, maintaining a household, and a full time job while building a business from the ground up during COVID. I immediately realized, I wanted my business to be about celebrating and acknowledging the contribution of women to our society. I believe that the drive, tenacity, perseverance, and personal development required to build a home, career or business is an incredible achievement worth celebrating. This is why I created the BOSS LADIES CAMPAIGN - a 4-hour luxurious photographic experience uniquely designed to pamper each lady. The experience included professional hair, makeup, wardrobe styling and fully guided photo sessions. We served clean crafted wine and chocolate covered strawberries and played their favorite music during their session. Beyond the photoshoot, the inspiring stories of each lady are shared in this magazine and featured on our podcast to empower others. Finally, a portion of the proceeds from the campaign goes to support Dove Recovery House for Women, an organization committed to empowering women to become substance free, selfsufficient, and healthy, by providing safe housing, quality programming, and-above-all-HOPE FOR THE FUTURE.
Many of the women in this year’s campaign are authors, coaches, realtors, entrepreneurs but they all have something in common; They are committed to changing the world with their expertise, skills and knowledge. Their dedication and leadership inspires me and many others to aim high and stand strong. This is why I call them BOSS LADIES!
Ok, Boss Ladies, I want to say a big “Thank You!!” for stepping out of your comfort zone and trusting me to capture your best self for this campaign. I am grateful and honored to have had the opportunity to get to know each and every one of you personally. You’ve become my family - we’ve shared countless laughs, inspiring stories and a few tears. I hope you enjoyed your photoshoot and photos as much as I did and hope you continue to see how beautiful and powerful you are inside and out.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank God, my family, my team, Dove House, all our 2022 Gala sponsors & auction item donors and you - the reader, for your love, support, and for believing in me for without you none of this would be possible. My hope is that by reading the inspiring stories of each lady, that you go forth and prosper in your God given purpose! Never give up and keep trying because we all are waiting to see your light shine brightly.

I am YOUR award-winning, boutique photographer specializing in Luxury Portrait, Personal Branding and Headshots.
Portrait photography has changed so much since the 80’s glamor style portraits, and the same can be said for Personal Branding and Headshots. Today, it has become more “Fashion Magazine Style”. What I offer is A CELEBRITY-STYLE PHOTO SHOOT EXPERIENCE with fully styled hair, makeup, and wardrobe, however you want to be photographed and whoever you want to be photographed with.
Whether you are a business owner or professional, your images are a reflection of your personal brand! Yes, that includes Headshots and Portraits. That's why each of my session starts with a consultation to plan and design a session that is unique to you and tells the story of you and your brand!
My goal is to create a photo shoot beyond what you’ve dreamed of. I work with a team of professional wardrobe stylists, hair and makeup artists to give you any level of glam and a luxurious pampering photo session. During the pre-shoot consultation, we strategize to come up with themes and looks that best fits your brand or who you want to show up as to make the right connections.
Each photo session is designed to be completely stress-free for you. We help you pick up to five outfits from your closet and style them. And, if you do not have five outfits to wear, we can also help you find outfits to rent or buy from local boutiques or online stores we work with. I serve clean crafted wine and chocolate covered strawberries, yum! and play your favorite music during your session. It is important to me that you feel pampered and relax so I can capture images of you that best represent your BRAND!
Are you a solopreneur? Do you have a business partner(s) or work in teams? Hello realtors, Lawyers, Dentists, salon owners! Are you a business-, life- or fitness- coach in need of an empowering photo session for your participants after a retreat? Or are you looking for a session with your mom, sisters, daughters, best friend or life-partner? We’ve got you covered! Each person gets personalized attention and we create incredible group shoots as well.
Personal branding extends beyond the design of your website, fonts, and logo. It’s all about the story you want to communicate to the public. It’s about what you have to offer to your clients — the skills, qualities, and experience you have that set you apart from the rest. So many different elements go into building your personal brand, but the photos you use to tell your story are especially powerful. Here’s why personal brand photography is so important for you and your business.
It helps you connect with your audience. Brand photography shows potential clients who you really are - your brand personality. It allows them to connect with you beyond just a name or a faceless website. And people are way more likely to buy a product, book a seminar, or comment on a post that comes from someone they feel like they genuinely know and have a relationship with. Professional personal brand photography can help you immediately build that kind of trust with your audience.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Don’t underestimate the power of a great photo. Let’s imagine you’ve decided you’re not going to eat
any dessert tonight — when all of a sudden, you’re scrolling through your feed and you see a photo of a deliciously moist, fluffy, decadent chocolate cake with a perfect swirl of vanilla icing on top. That alone can have the power to change your mind and rush out to the bakery! In the same way, great brand photos can have a powerful impact. If your audience likes what they see, they’ll be much more likely to hire you or buy your products.
It tells the story of your brand. Studies have shown that people make judgments about a brand or website’s quality in just 1.5 seconds. This means you’ve really got to make that first impression count! Great personal brand photos tell the story of your brand in an instant. They attract attention, help people visually see what makes you and your business so unique, and increase conversion.
No matter where you’re currently at in your business, great personal brand photos will give you the power to get to where you want to be. They’ll help you build trust with your audience, change hearts and minds, and communicate your story in a more effective way. And that’s what makes personal brand photography so important.

The minute I walked into Victoria’s studio I felt invited, comfortable and at home. She was extremely professional, kind and just lovely. The pictures she took, without being edited, are spectacular. - Victoria Odekomaya“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to SHINE.”

Hazel Walker, popularly known as the queen of networking is the franchise owner of BNI Indiana, US and British Columbia, Canada and has been for over 27 years. She is the only franchise owner in history to be number one worldwide for 13 months! Hazel is also the co-author of ‘Business Networking and Sex, not what you think’, a NY Times bestseller translated into four languages. She has stories published in 12 different books, given Keynote speeches and training on stages in 30 different countries on six continents, all with only a high school degree!
Prior to her success in BNI, Hazel was the reluctant owner of an insurance agency; knowing nothing about insurance or running a business, she had to learn fast. “I read two very important books, World's Best Known Marketing Secret and Business by Referral”, she said. She also began doing everything the books said, networking everywhere that she became so popular and got the nickname Queen of Networking but still not making enough money. Then in 1991, Hazel heard about a group called ‘The Network’; there were 5 or 6 local chapters. When she tried to join them and could not, Hazel reached out to the person running the organization and started a chapter. She said “that organization changed my life and my business. When The Network changed its name to BNI and franchised, I borrowed $60,000 and bought the franchise. I sold my insurance agency in 2001 and have been doing what I love ever since”.
Hazel has her own share of challenges too. One came when she was writing the book Business Networking and Sex. Both her co-authors were men with college degrees who already have books published. She felt entirely out of her comfort zone and felt she could not possibly write a book with them. For the book, they had surveyed 12,000 men and women, learned a lot and it was time to begin writing but then she froze like a deer in the headlights. Although she had deadlines and had been paid in advance, she was getting nowhere. It wasn’t until she talked with her business coach whose words changed everything for her “Hazel, you have something that they need and cannot get from each other! The most important voice in this book is your voice, the feminine. You will be able to speak to women in a way they cannot! Your voice is the most important, just trust the process and trust yourself!!”
“Advice that I would give someone starting out is to make friends with failure, it is there to teach you. Take time to reflect on each failure and write what you learned in your journal. Every challenge, every perceived failure is simply part of your education.

Yolonda Carey is from Harrisburg, PA and just recently moved to Indy. She retired in March 2021 from U.S. Department of Labor/OSHA where she was a compliance officer for 28 years. While working at OSHA Yolonda always had a business outside of her main profession and longed for the day, she would work full time for herself.
After retirement, that day came, well sort of. She became the care-giver of her ailing husband for several months until his transition in November 2021, but even during that time, she was working on Real Estate Investing by fixing and flipping single family houses. That training propelled her into the multifamily real estate arena with mentor Grant Cardone (Winner of the TV series Undercover Billionaire). Today she has invested in over 500+ units with Grant and invested as a limited partner(LP) in 300+ units in Arlington, TX. Her goal is to become a general partner(GP) in 3 large multifamily apartments totaling 1500 units in 2023.
Yolonda recently completed her certification as a business coach/consultant from EverCoach by MindValley which she is very proud of. As a business coach/consultant, her goal is to help companies and entrepreneurs adapt to changes and incorporate systems that ensure sustainable growth, and maximum profitability. With her background in investigative work, metaphysics, Reiki and Mystery School training, she is dedicated to ensuring that her clients reach their goals and positive outcomes from the work they did with mental growth, mindset change and from a place of self-love.
In her E-commerce business, Yolonda creates beautiful message cards to family members and includes a necklace that is then sold on her online store. She can create personalized messages for any client which will be loved and cherished by that special someone.
Yolonda loves a challenge and doing things out of her comfort zone. The Boss Lady campaign was another one of those “challenges” that she found intriguing and eager to do. “I am starting a new chapter in my life, and I deserve to look and feel beautiful, vibrant and see myself in lights.”
“Advice that I would give someone just starting out is don’t let FEAR keep you from realizing your dreams. We are often told as a child or in school, NO! don’t do this or don’t do that; “you failed the test” or “this is the only way to solve that math problem” when in reality there are many ways to solve a problem and reach your goal or dream. Always dream bigger than you think is possible because whatever you believe, you can achieve. If you dream small you will get small results, but if you dream big, you will get big results.”

Kristina Vigliaturo has worked in a high touch, high stress job and for many years, she was a selfproclaimed workaholic, focused mostly on winning. This shifted in early 2012 when her mother began to get sick and she took on the role of her primary care-giver.
For about five years Kristina tried to do it all. She traveled for her corporate job about 30 weeks per year, still striving to do great things and win awards. When she’s home, she takes care of everyone else but herself. This took a toll on her health. Kristina gained weight and began having bizarre symptoms: a tremor in her toe/foot, balance issues, major challenges with fine motor skills, skin issues, trouble walking long distances without shuffling. She went to doctors who told her it was stress, anxiety, depression, IBS, and a whole host of other disorders. Still she pushed through and kept going. She was running a thousand miles an hour straight toward a brick wall.
In 2015 and 2016, her mother cheated death three times in the span of 45 days, surviving two lung collapses and a heart attack, and she had what she can only describe as a physical breakdown. She took a short time off work, and spent time getting her own health in order. Kristina discovered she had a myriad of food sensitivities, and began a journey toward understanding what true wellness looked like. While armed with a ton of new information, and still carrying the weight of her mother’s illness and her unexplained symptoms, sheI kept searching for more answers.
In June of 2017 she was diagnosed with idiopathic (no known cause) Young Onset Parkinson’s disease, and that is when everything changed. She began researching the connection between the gut and the brain, and refused to begin the standard course of pharmaceutical drugs typically given for Parkinsons. She started an intense exercise regimen that includes Rock Steady Boxing, weight training, yoga,, and began to meditate daily. She allowed herself to rest, cleaned up her diet, and began to heal her gut. Within a few months, she could tie her shoes and button a shirt again.
A few months after the regimen, the frequency and intensity of her tremor improved. She could not only walk, but could run. Kristina saw first hand that the body wants to heal itself, and when given the right tools, rest and fuel, it can do just that. Using food to heal was such a fascinating concept that Kristina got a certificate in Functional Nutrition Counseling and created a company called Nutrition for Holistic Wellness, LLC.
Now, five years later, she’s working on a second Master’s degree in Nutrition and Integrative Health. She has plans to retire from Corporate America and officially open a full clinical nutrition practice that addresses 5 pillars of wellness with Nutrition as the foundation. She will also be opening a holistic wellness cafe in the near future. Be sure to follow Kristina on Instagram @nfhwcommunity.

Sherry Borshoff grew up in a military family. Her dad was a Navy officer and was very strict but it helped her become established in the ins and outs of following processes and procedures.
Sherry started out as a Paralegal in the tax department of a law firm, and then earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University. She has worked in public accounting, private business management as a controller for a multi-unit restaurant company, and an electrical contracting company where she thought she would retire but God had other plans that led to her starting her firm - Borshoff Consulting, with the idea that many small businesses needed a controller/CFO type but could not afford to hire someone to do it full time.
Sherry’s plan changed when she was downsized from her last corporate job. After looking for another corporate job for a while, she started helping small to medium size businesses get help that an in-house accounting department might provide at a fraction of the cost. Sherry quickly learned that small business ownership inherently comes with financial and tax obligations that a lot of small business owners don’t realize when they start out. So her mission is to help them start on a good foundation of best practices, and or help them correct their current processes, etc. with best practices.
Sherry loves the Lord and supports a few Christian based charities including Purposeful Living, Inc, One Girl at a Time, Special Needs Living. She is very passionate about helping small business owners succeed in reaching their dreams for their business while being financially sound and complying with their tax obligations.
When asked what’s in her purse, “too many things!” she says, “my husband jokingly calls it my luggage, but really it kind of is.”

One of the most interesting first jobs Bridget had was a role of police dispatcher for the Virginia Beach Police Department. Although it was a high-stress job, she says it also gave her the most satisfaction because she felt like she made a difference every day.
Bridget is a BNI member and has served as a BNI Chapter Consultant since 2007. She believes that her main purpose in life is serving others personally and professionally in any way she can to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Her personal passion is getting outside daily, feeding birds in her backyard, gardening and walking for exercise.
Bridget decided to be a part of the Boss Lady Campaign because she wanted to strep out of her comfort zone. She does not feel comfortable having her photo taken but losing sixty pounds during the last year has helped her feel more confident. She is the eldest daughter of the eldest daughter, of the eldest daughter and she has an eldest/only daughter too. Her business name “Tellis” from her maiden name pays homage to her parents and her humble but great family legacy.
After working in Corporate America for 30 years and at Rolls-Royce for the last 15 years as a Supply Chain Executive, Geneva decided to leave the rat race and explore other business opportunities by purchasing a recruiting firm. Tellis Executive Search, Search Consultants Who Care, is a certified minority and women owned firm that has been in business for 6 years.
Tellis Executive Search focuses on recruiting for industries like Defense, Aerospace and manufacturing companies for roles beyond Executives; recruiting also includes for supply chain, IT, operations, engineering and quality. “We are search consultants who care, which means we are more than just finding talent for companies. We care about relationships with our client companies and candidates.”
Geneva attributes her success to believing that she could do anything if she puts her mind to it (thanks to her mom and dad). She believes in herself, her intelligence, problem solving skills and her ability to build relationships. Because she is actually an introvert, she constantly puts herself in positive and uncomfortable situations to push herself outside her comfort zone thereby creating vulnerability that has helped make her relatable to others and thus successful.
Tellis Executive Search is a proud sponsor of several organizations including Soroptimist International which gives back to women and girls through their annual awards and mentoring program. She is also active on the Advisory Board for Leading Ladies of Aerospace and Defense and Vice-Chair for the Six-Sigma Racial Equity Institute.
Advice that I would give to someone just starting out would be a quote from Maya Angelou- “I’ve learned that people will forget what you SAID, people will forget what you DID, but people will never forget how you made them FEEL.”

Jennifer Murphy
Co-founder & Executive Director, Murphy Mentoring Group and The Respite House of Marion County. Spiritual Enrichment Coach
Jennifer Murphy is a Spiritual Enrichment Coach and the Co-founder and Executive Director of Murphy Mentoring Group and The Respite House of Marion County (TRH-Marion County).
About 12 years ago, Jennifer and her husband, Dedrick, founded Murphy Mentoring Group Inc, a non-profit organization to serve the emotional and mental health needs of children, youth and families through mentorship and educational services. In summer 2022, they opened one of the few community-based respite homes in Marion County (TRH-Marion County) to serve the families of youth between 6 and 13 years old diagnosed with a severe emotional disorder/disability (SED)
As a Spiritual Enrichment Coach, Jennifer helps people identify areas of spiritual weakness and assist them in building spiritual muscles. She’ll be the first to tell you that her life has not always been easy but through faith, and an amazing support system, she’s been able to overcome all. She speaks about how her son, who is now 8 years old, was a very sick baby with countless doctor visits and dead end roads, which helps her learn how to lean on God for a miracle. “He turned our problem into a promise and our test into a testimony! My son is thriving now. We still have some mountains to climb but we have the best guide helping us navigate. My faith and love for God makes me unique.” says Jennifer.
Jennifer has built community relationships, led fundraising efforts, and provided superior leadership for a team of mental health professionals with her over 16 years of experience at the Marion County Public Health Department. While still serving, she also knows it’s time for her to do something that she’s always dreamed of and be able to fulfill her spiritual calling. Her goal in the coming years is to impact as many people as possible, through speaking, teaching, coaching and inspirational tools as a Spiritual Enrichment Coach. She encourages everyone to do the same, look inward to see how they can fulfill their calling.

Precious Jones is the founder and owner of Power P Bounce & Co. When the name Power P is heard, she is jokingly discussed as though she is someone separate from her 1st identity of Mrs. Precious Jones. Separate from the wife, the mother, or the Police Chief that serves and protects her family and our children daily, it is each of these identities that gives its own piece of purpose to the drive that pushes her to share herself with our community through health and fitness.
How does she do this? First, with God's guidance by BEASTING it out through Kangoo Bounce for the overall wellness of all who enter the beast house doors. This has been her main focus since 2019 as she is not only certified to instruct Kangoo Bounce and Discovery for youth, but also Spin Cycle and Trampoline Fitness. With Power P, having a space to hold various types of fitness classes, she also serves as a community leader. Utilizing her platform to unify our community by providing black women a safe space to live out the message of sisterhood, togetherness and belonging. This shows how Power P graciously shares herself with the world around her.
Precious thrives on positivity, especially random acts of kindness. A few years ago, when she was a State Capitol police officer, she went to a high-five rally at an elementary school and noticed a little boy off to the side. She said he looked sad, like he was having a bad day. He was laying on the floor, so she laid down beside him to tell him everything was going to be okay. Someone took a picture that went viral.
Precious is still big on random acts of kindness. "Like picking up a stranger's tab at a restaurant. I will get out of my chair, pay a bill and walk away and boom, there you go," Precious said. "Someone could be having a really bad day, and it just takes one act of kindness to give them that hope, to push through what they have going on."
Precious, a mother of three, said she loves working with kids. It's why she left the capitol police to become police chief at Paramount Schools of Excellence, which allows her to bounce over to the gym in the evenings.

Efe Hagley has worked as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for about 12 years. She started I Care Cleaning Service in 2021 with the goal to create free time for busy people and support those in need in our community.
I Care Cleaning Services provide residential and corporate cleaning services. They work with people from all walks of life from busy young families to the elderly population who have little or no time to clean their space. Efe is a proud partner with “Cleaning for a Reason,” a nonprofit that provides free cleaning to cancer patients in our community.
Efe started cleaning as a side hustle to support her family income. The thought of starting a cleaning company started after she turn down a neighbor, who for disabling health reasons could not clean his home. Efe made the tough decision to turned him down because she did not have the required manpower to clean for him. This decision also challenged her to seek mentorship, knowledge and resources to be able to provide cleaning services not only as a business but also to provide free cleaning services to persons with disabling medical conditions who are unable to clean their space.
Like every new business owner, Efe has had her share of challenges. She struggled with wearing so many hats but sought encouragement from other great business owners. The response she gets from customers after cleaning their space keeps her going;, and knowing that she is impacting lives positively, keeps her motivated.
“Advice that I would give someone equally starting out is this- don’t give up no matter the circumstances. Surround yourself with successful business owners who want to help others grow.”

Tracey Tyler is the owner of A Better Life Home Care where she offers Home Care Services to those in need of assistance so they can remain in the home as long as they possibly can with loved ones. With over 23 years of experience in the industry and as a CPR instructor, Tracey’s mission is to create quality care for those in need of home care services, to offer families peace of mind and give their loved ones care they can trust.
A Better Life Home Care, a family business started because Tracey’s mom fell very sick and she wasn’t satisfied with the level of care provided by home care agencies. Her family also couldn’t find good caregivers for her nephew who was born with spina bifida. Tracey’s mom passed away when she and her sisters were still very young. Tracey, being the oldest, promised her mom before her passing that she would always take care of her sisters. Fast forward several years later, She’s proud of how she and her family are becoming successful together and offering the best care they can to others... Everybody wins!!
After two years of working hard to set the right foundation, Tracey started A Better Life Home Care. It was challenging at first but even the pandemic couldn’t stop them. They’ve enjoyed rapid growth since opening-, quadrupling their clientele year over year.
As part of the company’s mission of giving back, everyone on the team works and volunteers in the community. In their first year of business, half of their profit was given back to staff, patients and the community through Christmas programs, giveaways, and educational classes (CPR). Tracey started a non-profit organization called ‘Power over Poverty’ to help the homeless community, and a mobile food pantry dedicated to her mother, ‘Kathy’s Cupboard’ for the elderly and disabled, so they don’t have to wait in long lines for assistance.
“Advice that I would give my younger self or someone starting out is to stay focused, never give up on your dreams... if you keep working for it, it’s going to come. Nothing in life is given to you... you have to go get it!”

“I worked really hard for my success...I learned every aspect of the business by working in the field until I finally decided I didn’t want to run anyone else’s business anymore, I was ready to run my own”
Monica Moehring started training her own clients in January of 2022 at a private studio in Fishers. She developed an online training program in June to reach more clients as well. Monica loves connecting with new people and helping them realize that they can reach their health goals without spending countless hours in the gym each week.
MonicaI offers in-person and online training services for women over 40 who are looking to lose some weight so they can feel fit and fabulous in their clothes again, without spending more time in the gym.
She’s been and still is a Commodities Broker even after starting her personal training business. She got the bug for it when she was asked to sub for one of the trainers at her gym while she was on vacation. Monica coached a bootcamp class for a week and absolutely loved it! Then when the trainer left, Monica took over the class for the next year, and did an internship at IFAST. Both of those things only fueled her fire for coaching which led Monica to where she is today!
Monica’s success can be attributed to her passion for fitness and wanting to show other women all of the benefits that it’s given her over the years. She has also put in a lot of hard work consistently over the past year in putting herself out there on social media, as well as continuing her education to better serve her clients. Monica has given almost 100% of her free time to learning and growing her business because she is so passionate about it!
It’s been very challenging building a business on her own while holding a full time job. She has had to learn how to balance everything, including carving out time for herself! She has also had to learn a lot of new technology in order to get things off the ground. Lastly, Monica had a wonderful mentor to guide her along the way with both strategy and mindset, which have been absolutely instrumental in saving her time and energy!
Monica is very active on Instagram, so be sure to follow her @movementwithmomo for fitness tips.
“Just keep going!
You’re doing better than you think.”

Nakeisha Washington
Founder, Nyla Nova™ STEMversity, Curator of the “STEMsation” movement and Author of “Who Is Nyla Nova? “The STEMsation”
Nakeisha Washington is the founder of Nyla Denae’ Enterprises, the parent company of the award-winning book series - “NylaNova The STEMsation”, “Nyla Nova STEMversity” and “STEMventures”. She has over 15 years experience in education and has held several leadership roles including assistant principal, teacher, team leader, advisor, mentor, all roles that led her to pursue her dream of providing outreach programs to children, in order to help them pursue their dreams.
Nakeisha noticed that her daughter, Nyla Denae’ would mimic her as though she also was teaching science. As a STEM educator, author, mentor and curator of the “STEMsation” movement, Nakeisha developed a platform that fuses together STEM, character development, and fashion into a unique model for young girls and women. The result of which is her book titled, “Who Is Nyla Nova? “The STEMsation””.
The book tells the story of Nyla Nova who learned that she is a “STEM Superhero” with the abilities to solve mysteries using her STEMpowers. Her mother, the “STEMsational Queen” had passed her STEMpowers down to her youngest child. Their mission is to encourage girls to believe in themselves and to develop confidence and skills in the areas of STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Washington hopes for the publication of “Who Is Nyla Nova? “The STEMsation” will spark interest in STEM plus show the fashionable side of the ladies of STEM, and light up little girls’ imagination on all the possibilities that await them. “We are trying to increase the number of women of color in STEM by inspiring girls at a young age,” she adds.
Nakeisha’s encouragement to someone starting out or struggling is to “Keep Going! Never Give Up! Don’t Quit! Believe in yourself! Remember it’s your vision, your mission, and your purpose. So most people will not understand it but they don’t have to...only you need to believe.”

She loves working with diverse cultures and people. Cathy also has a side gig with Scout and Cellar - a sustainable company that offers products with no added sugar, no chemicals, no pesticides or very low sulfites. She has been having a blast with this wine gig for one year now selling clean crafted wine, olive oil, vinegar, mixables, and coffee.
Cathy loves mission trips. She has been to Columbia, Haiti and South Africa, Ghana and Zimbabwe. Cathy and her husband, Stefan, sponsor 7 children in Africa and have been blessed to meet 6 of the 7. They also sponsored 3 children that have now aged out of the system.
One of Cathy’s favorite mission trip stories was during a trip to South Africa. Her head pastor had asked if his wife, another woman and Cathy would like to go to Zimbabwe to hold a Women’s Conference at the end of their retreat in South Africa, of course Cathy said yes! It was at the end of a very horrible time in Zimbabwe and the women needed to be lifted up! The team planned for a weekend women’s conference, expecting about 200 women but the conference ended up hosting 3000 women who walked for miles and days to get to the conference. Cathy recalls how God showed up big and made it possible for them to feed, house all the women (and children), and loved deeply on them all. “It was amazing. You can’t outgive God, says Cathy.

The lady suggested that Ariane start her own company offering the services because they couldn’t make the numbers ($$$) make sense. Ariane took that as a challenge, she researched and discovered an entire world of Nursepreneurs who are killing the game. She uncovered a hidden world that belonged to her.
The secret to her success? “I vivaciously say what I want to do and it just so happens to manifest more times than not. I’m not scared of rejection. Although I was very loved growing up, I experienced a lot of rejection that I didn’t even realize what it was until later in life."

Lindsay Scott loved College and knew she wanted to pursue an advanced degree, but law school was not in the plans, it just sounded “cool” so she applied and moved to Chicago for 3 years to attend law school. It was a life altering experience. She had always been involved in community service growing up and in school. Her mother was an educator and her father was active in youth sports, so volunteering was always a thing in her family.
Lindsay had an externship in law school working with children in the court system and knew it was for her. When she moved back to Indy after law school, she started volunteering with Kids’ Voice where she is now the President/CEO of the organization. At Kid’s voice, the mission is to serve Indiana’s children and families by providing legal education, child advocacy and family visitation through their programs. They are the largest child advocacy organization in the State serving over 5000 kids every day. The kids are often victims of abuse or neglect and many of them are in the foster care system. The team works to make sure they are all in a safe and stable home where they can thrive.
Some of the challenges Lindsay had to overcome was knowing that in law school, they didn’t give her an education on how to run a business, so she had to learn quickly about how to create a budget and read a profit and loss sheet.
“I’m a goal setter. I love setting a goal and meeting, or exceeding it! I like to review our budget and end the year under budget. And, more than anything, how many kids are we serving and how well are we serving them.” Those are important motivators for Lindsay which allows her to continue to improve the agency.
Lindsay and her husband live near White River and love being outside with their dog Waldo. They love kayaking, boating and walking their dog. Lindsay loves listening to podcasts and audio books specifically true crimes and history. And she is a huge fan of NPR!!!
“Advice I would give my younger self or someone starting out is to join professional groups, network, meet mentors, collaborate and likely get ongoing education.”

Collabo XD is an experience design company that helps businesses put experience first so they don’t have to compete on prices or wages. For any business, the thing you sell isn’t what people are actually buying. What they’re really buying is the experience you provide, your ability to help them solve a problem AND the feeling they get when they work with you.
If you’re in a service business where relationships are crucial, many clients aren’t always forthcoming with their feelings. Why? Because they’re in the relationship business too. Instead, they’ll silently and slowly distance themselves. Or simply tell you that they met someone else and didn’t know that you did this “new” thing they’re looking for.
Do you know the truth about what your customers or employees think about your business?
