Investments come in many forms. Some are financialstocks, startups, and strategic savings. Others are deeply personal, like the time we dedicate to growth, the people we surround ourselves with, and the confidence we build from within. The best investments, though? They’re the ones that create lasting impact in every part of our lives.
This month, we’re diving into the world of investments, from investing in brand marketing to help your business shine, to the evolving landscape of capital funding. But beyond the numbers, we’re also talking about the investments that truly shape us, like embracing personal style, prioritizing wellness, and saying yes to opportunities that challenge and inspire. Spring, after all, is a season of renewal, making it the perfect time to reflect on where we’re placing our energy and resources.
Fashion, for example, is more than just what we wear- it’s how we present ourselves to the world. In this issue, we explore the latest spring trends and how investing in pieces that make you feel your best is just as important as any financial venture. With insights from three distinguished local experts in brand marketing, professional photography, and event planning, we explore how investing in professional services can elevate your business and enhance its success.

HOW ALEX BOGUMIL TURNED CAPITAL FUNDINGS INTO CENTRAL FLORIDA’S MOST TRUSTED PRIVATE LENDER
Alex Bogumil has always been drawn to problem-solving. Numbers made sense to him, but it wasn’t just about equations; it was about finding solutions, making things work, and pushing toward something greater. With a strong background in corporate finance and treasury, he thrived in the analytical world of business. However, something was missing. He craved more energy, connection, and direct impact. Bogumil’s
vision was shaped by a common but critical issue he encountered early on—too many lenders failing to show up at the closing table, leaving real estate investors stranded at the last moment. That experience solidified his mission: to be a lender who never left an investor in the lurch, who always followed through, and who truly understood the urgency of real estate deals.
In 2014, real estate changed everything for Bogumil. Working alongside investors, he witnessed the thrill of the industry firsthand. The fast decisions,
tangible results, and the way a neglected property could be transformed into a valuable investment were exhilarating.
He realized that real estate investors didn’t just need capital; they needed a partner who truly understood the market—someone who could move quickly and offer real insight. At 38, he took the leap and launched Capital Fundings, a private lending firm built on speed, trust, and local expertise.
The decision to start Capital Fundings was personal for Bogumil. Having renovated over 100 single-family homes
“EVERY PROJECT NEEDS A PARTNER WITH MARKET EXPERTISE.”
himself, he knew exactly what it took to make a project succeed. He wasn’t interested in the slow, impersonal nature of big national lenders; he wanted to create something different: a lending company that worked at the speed of real estate and valued relationships as much as returns. That hands-on approach has paid off—Capital Fundings has now funded over 1,230 loans totaling $224 million, with zero foreclosures or investor losses.
However, for Bogumil, success isn’t measured in numbers alone. It’s found in the conversations with first-time
investors nervous about their first flip, among borrowers who feel more confident with a lender who takes the time to guide them, and in the late-night calls from clients who know he’ll pick up. “When you work with us, you’re not just getting a loan—you’re getting a team that understands real estate inside and out,” he explains. This philosophy has built more than just a business; it has created a loyal network of real estate investors who keep coming back.
Despite his success, Bogumil is always looking toward the next step. In 2023, he launched Capital Fundings Mortgage
Fund I, a mortgage fund designed to provide even more capital to real estate investors. It was a major move that stayed true to his original mission—offering reliable funding without sacrificing the personal touch. “The more people we can help, the better,” he says simply.
Looking back, Bogumil attributes his success to the strength of his relationships. If he could start over, he would focus even more on networking and raising capital from day one. His advice to others is straightforward: meet people, build trust, and create opportunities. “Real estate isn’t just about numbers—it’s about trust,” he says. “The more connections you make, the more doors open.”
Now celebrating its 11th year, Capital Fundings remains committed to the investors who rely on it. Over the years, Bogumil has seen firsthand how access to fast, reliable funding can transform an investor’s career. Each deal is different, but the core need remains the same— certainty. Still answering calls, still making deals happen, and still fueled by the same passion that started it all, Bogumil is clear on one thing: “We’re not just financing deals; we’re helping people build their futures.” For him, that’s what makes it all worth it.
Elevate Your Style with Vintage Finds
ARTICLE BY SIRIA ANDINO
As winter fades and the first signs of spring bloom, April is the perfect time to refresh your wardrobe with pieces that transition effortlessly between seasons. This year, the focus is on versatile fashion, where practicality meets personality. Here’s what to watch for:
LAYERING WITH LIGHTNESS
Think airy cardigans, cinch-waist blazers, and oversized shirts in pastel hues or neutral tones. These layers can be styled over vintage floral dresses or paired with high-waisted denim for a polished yet casual vibe.
MAXIMALIST ACCESSORIES
April is embracing bold statement pieces. From chunky charm necklaces to retroinspired sunglasses, these accents breathe new life into secondhand basics. A pop of color in your accessories can elevate any outfit without overhauling your entire closet.
With sustainability on the rise, natural fabrics like linen and cotton are taking center stage. Earth tones—think terracotta, sage, and creamy whites—create a cohesive, modern look while adding depth to preloved wardrobe staples.
Polka dots, gingham, and stripes are making a comeback, and second-hand shops are a goldmine for finding unique takes on these trends. Pair a printed blouse from another era with sleek trousers for an effortless transitional outfit.
TAILORED TO PERFECTION
Sharp silhouettes and structured pieces are huge this season. Seek out well-made blazers and trousers that can be tailored to fit perfectly—a sustainable and stylish investment that stands the test of time.
Fashion is about expression, and there’s nothing more exciting than giving a once-loved piece a new chapter in your wardrobe. Whether you’re drawn to the nostalgia of past decades or the thrill of discovering a designer gem at a fraction of the price, curating a wardrobe with second-hand finds is both budget-friendly and creatively fulfilling. So, step into your local vintage shop or thrift store and let your style story unfold—one unique piece at a time.

Why hiring professionals for events, branding, and photography is the smartest business investment.
Investing isn’t just about stocks and real estate, it’s also about making smart choices for your business. Whether you’re throwing a major event, building a brand, or capturing the perfect shot, hiring a professional can make all the difference. Sure, you could try to do it yourself, but why take the risk when you can bring in an expert who knows exactly how to make your vision shine?
A great event isn’t just about balloons and a venue, it’s about creating an experience that leaves a lasting impression. From corporate conferences to brand launches and social gatherings, every detail matters. Professional event planners handle logistics, coordinate with vendors, and troubleshoot last-minute surprises. Instead of stressing over whether there are enough chairs or if the catering arrives on time, you can actually enjoy the event while the experts take care of the details. Branding is another crucial investment that can make or break a business. In today’s fast-paced digital world, first impressions happen instantly,
and your brand needs to stand out. A strong brand is more than a logo, it’s a message, a personality, and a promise to your audience. Professional marketers craft compelling brand stories, develop cohesive strategies, and create eye-catching campaigns that turn potential customers into loyal fans.
And let’s not forget photography. A grainy phone picture isn’t going to cut it in a world where visuals dominate. Whether it’s headshots, product images, or event coverage, professional photographers bring expertise in lighting, composition, and editing to deliver high-quality visuals that elevate your brand’s image.
At the end of the day, investing in professionals is a strategy. It saves time, reduces stress, and ensures your business puts its best foot forward. So next time you’re planning an event, refining your brand, or capturing key moments, remember: pros do it best. And trust us, your future self will thank you.

Strategic Events Strengthen Brand Identity, Foster Relationships, and Create Lasting Marketing Opportunities
Investing in your business isn’t just about branding and advertising—it’s about creating experiences that leave a lasting impact. Whether launching something new, reintroducing your brand, or hosting a client appreciation event, a well-planned event can be a powerful tool for growth. Events build brand awareness, strengthen customer loyalty, and generate valuable marketing content.
A thoughtfully executed event provides more than just a moment of celebration—it creates memorable touch points that set businesses apart. A launch event generates excitement, a rebrand event breathes fresh life into your business, and a client appreciation event deepens customer relationships. With the right strategy, events also provide PR exposure, networking opportunities, and high-quality marketing assets through professional photography and videography. But successful events don’t just happen— they require careful planning and execution. From selecting the right venue to curating a seamless guest experience, every detail contributes to its success. Working with an
experienced event planner ensures that all elements align with your brand and business goals, maximizing the event’s impact, while allowing you to focus on what matters most.
In today’s competitive market, creating intentional experiences can be a key differentiator. The right event can turn customers into loyal advocates, elevate brand perception, and open doors to new opportunities. Investing in meaningful moments today can create lasting results for the future.

ELEVATE YOUR MEMORIES AND BRAND WITH IMPACTFUL PHOTOGRAPHY
In today’s digital world, high-quality images are more important than ever. Whether it’s for personal memories, branding, or business marketing, investing in professional photography ensures you get images that are exquisite, thoughtful, and transformative. A quality professional photographer brings years of experience in lighting, composition, and posing, far beyond any quick iPhone shot. A well-crafted image tells a story, conveys emotion, and highlights details to add to the composition. Professional photographers understand how to use angles, dynamic lighting, and styling to emphasize the best qualities of their subjects.
For families, couples, and individuals, investing in professional photography can create keepsake treasures that capture a moment in time. Maternity portraits, newborn baby photos, milestone birthday sessions, and family portraits create lasting memories that ebb the flow of time in our busy dayto-day lives. Unlike amateur photos that can be indistinct, dimly lit, or lost in a vast digital scroll, professional portraits provide archival quality prints and create heirloom photo albums that can be passed down for generations.
For entrepreneurs and businesses, professional photography is essential for a lasting first impression. Masterful headshots, product photography, and branding sessions create credibility and recognition for your business. Customers want to engage with a brand that presents itself with striking visuals that spark joy, pulling them into the business. While professional photography is an investment, the cost is a small fraction to the value. Whether for personal or business use, hiring a professional photographer ensures your moments are captured with skill, artistry, and intention.

Branding is more than just a logo or a color scheme—it’s the heartbeat of your business. It’s the first impression you make, the feeling people associate with your name, and the reason they choose you over the competition. Whether you’re a small local shop or a growing company, creating a strong, recognizable brand helps you stand out and build trust with your customers.
A well-crafted brand starts with understanding your audience. Who are your customers? What do they value? Knowing the answers to these questions allows you to shape your brand identity in a way that truly connects. Your visuals, messaging, and overall tone should reflect not just what you do, but why you do it. The best brands don’t just sell products or services—they tell a story that resonates.
Think about some of the most iconic brands you recognize instantly. They’ve achieved that status by maintaining consistency across every touchpoint—website, social media, signage, packaging, and even the way
they communicate with customers. Your brand is everywhere—on your website, on the promotional products you give away, on the uniforms your employees wear, and even on the way your storefront or office presents itself. A cohesive brand presence builds familiarity, and familiarity builds loyalty.
Photography also plays a vital role in branding. The right images can bring your brand to life, capturing emotion, personality, and professionalism in a single frame. Whether it’s the inviting storefront of a boutique, the craftsmanship behind a product, or the friendly faces of a dedicated team, high-quality visuals help tell your brand’s story. (We’ll explore this more in another story!)
At the end of the day, branding is about making an impact—leaving a lasting impression that keeps customers coming back. Take the time to define your brand voice, refine your visuals, and create a message that speaks directly to the people you serve. Because when branding is done right, it doesn’t just make you memorable—it makes you famous.

Lakeland evokes Old Florida with its beautiful trees, lakes at every turn, and a bustling yet inviting historic district. Beyond its charm, Lakeland boasts an emerging culinary scene capturing food lovers’ attention.
For our weekend getaway, we stayed at Opal Oaks Micro Resort, a hidden gem in South Lakeland. Once a luxury estate, it now offers six themed rooms, including a stunning Penthouse Suite—an ideal retreat before indulging in the city’s dining scene.
Our culinary adventure began at Terrace Grille, a fine dining staple inside the historic Terrace Hotel Lakeland. With over a century of heritage, this landmark exudes timeless elegance, featuring arched windows, blackand-white floors, and pecky cypress ceilings.
The Hokkaido Scallops were mouth-watering, and the Rib Eye steak, cooked to perfection, came with one of the best creamy horseradish sauces we’ve ever had. With its sophisticated ambiance and top-tier service, Terrace Grill is a must-visit.
Our next stop was La Gran Muralla Speakeasy, tucked behind a hidden door in a Chinese takeout spot. Inside, Latin and Asian flavors collide in unexpected ways.
The Ropa Vieja Sushi reinvented a Cuban classic, while the Chicharrón was crispy and packed with flavor. After dinner, visit the bar, where Master Mixologist Julio crafts elaborate cocktails with smoke
and unique ingredients—part drink, part spectacle. As the night unfolds, the space transforms into a lounge with a dance floor and private karaoke, perfect for keeping the party going.
On our last day, we dined at Nineteen61, one of Lakeland’s most popular fine dining spots. The restaurant exudes elegance, blending modern Spanish flavors with Latin and Southern influences.
The ceviche was undoubtedly the best in Lakeland— possibly in Central Florida. Their calamari was crispy perfection, and the Churrasco Steak and Seabass Chimi were beautifully plated and bursting with flavor.
We ended our night at Vasco Sixty One, Lakeland’s hottest rooftop lounge above Nineteen61. With South Beach vibes and a live DJ, this spot brings the perfect late-night energy to Central Florida.
The Old Fashioned and Martini were delicious and beautifully presented. We also learned about their late-night tapas menu but, after our feast, took a rain check—though we can’t wait to return!
Lakeland’s culinary scene is a hidden treasure, rivaling that of larger cities. From historic landmarks to speakeasies, upscale dining, and rooftop lounges, each experience left us eager for more. Whether you’re a foodie or just seeking a relaxing getaway, Lakeland is a destination worth savoring.
