Tastes & Memories

My mom’s brisket.

All I need to do is think about it and I can practically smell and taste it (which is pretty amazing considering I haven’t eaten her brisket in almost 20 years since I’m now a pescatarian!). But it was one of my favorite dishes and one my mom always made for holidays and special occasions. It’s embedded in my memories. When I think of it, I don’t just remember the flavor; I feel the warmth of family, of tradition, of love gathered around the table.

Food and drink hold that kind of power. They’re more than sustenance—they’re anchors for our memories, triggers for our senses, and often the backdrop to the moments that matter most. That’s one of the reasons I love putting together our Food & Drink issue (another perk? The research—yum!).

So here it is, an issue dedicated to some of the best places where you can dine, drink, and make memories around Scottsdale and the Valley. From inventive menus to architectural gems, and from a unique vodka brand to unforgettable dining experiences, it’s all here.

My hope is that within these pages, you’ll find not just places to eat and drink, but also opportunities to create your own memories—the kind that stay with you long after the meal is over. Maybe you’ll find your own version of my mom’s brisket.

Yours,

October 2025

letter from the PUBLISHER

Growing up in the South, food was a big part of our life. If you’re from the South or visited the South, I’m sure you’ve been asked after every meal, “Did you get enough to eat? Because there’s plenty more where that came from!” And it’s true. While I was growing up, the casseroles seemed to never end.

While the casseroles have faded into memory, my love for eating, gathering, and enjoying a meal has only grown. These days, it really is about the whole experience. From the freshest ingredients, food color palette, plating, seasonality, and more, a meal is no longer just a meal.

Over the years, I’ve learned how much food and drinks can work together to create a new flavor palette and how flavors can enhance one another to bring out a bolder taste in your mouth.

This is why I love this issue every year. It really can bring all your senses together.

Scottsdale truly leads the way within the food and beverage industry. Our style, taste, and ambiance is like no other. From the rise of speakeasies, supper clubs, exclusive chef tastings, and more, Scottsdale has a flavor for everyone.

As you turn the pages of this issue, I hope you’re inspired to savor every bite, sip, and moment our city has to offer. Whether you’re discovering a hidden gem or revisiting a favorite spot, let yourself be guided by curiosity and your palate. So dig in, explore, and don’t be surprised if you find yourself asking, “Did I get enough?”—because just like back home, there’s always more where that came from. Cheers!

Grateful in Spirit

WITH A CREATIVE LABEL AND PREMIUM PRODUCT, GRATEFULIST VODKA RAISES THE BAR

Anyone who’s perused the high-end options at a liquor store knows that it’s easy to be dazzled and intrigued by the array of not only sipping options but also the beautiful, artistic labels and bottles that hold them.

But one local premium vodka company is taking the aesthetic a step further with a design that is sleek and elegant while bringing a truly personal touch that provides a boost in addition to a buzz.

With a label that can be customized on the fly with a Sharpie, Gratefulist Vodka is distinguishing itself from a sea of spirits by engaging buyers and enabling them to spread good vibes with a bottle tailor-made for gifting and sharing.

The label features the words, “I’m Grateful For:” with three empty lines beneath, ready for the gifter to provide a written response, usually the name of the recipient, “friends” or “family.” However, any heartfelt message works well, too.

“The brand is not about being an everyday sipping vodka. It’s a vodka you should be pouring with friends and feeling grateful for those relationships,” says Gratefulist Vodka President Christy Bower. “The label is beautiful but also significant in the name of the brand.”

Available in bars and restaurants throughout the Valley, Gratefulist Vodka has also been successful at being a conversation starter among strangers.

When sharing what they are grateful for, some bars have written “regulars” or “great guests.” One bar did a promotion featuring the vodka in a happy hour martini. As part of it, bartenders asked customers what they were grateful for that day. In return, bartenders shared what they were grateful for.

“It brought positivity, which is so good for mental health and socialization,” Bower says. “It’s been really meaningful to be able to bring that into the world.”

But the feel-good aura doesn’t end there—it extends to the product itself.

Made from 100 percent U.S.-grown corn with zero fillers or additives, the final product is the result of 19 trial formulas and is blended with a secret ingredient for an extra-smooth mouthfeel with the perfect balance of sweetness and spice.

Non-GMO, kosher, and naturally gluten-free, it’s also six-times distilled at Tempe-based Outlaw Distillery, which sells Gratefulist Vodka at its retail shop and tasting room.

“It was important to have a high-quality product,” Bower says. “We didn’t want to compete with the lower-end products. We are premium and we are elevated.”

The company is woman-run and founded with a large female audience who are attracted to the smooth spirit with a conscience.

Gratefulist was launched by Dani Engelking during the pandemic in 2020. Her mission was to create a spirit with the objective of uplifting others during a time of uncertainty and doubt.

“Although the sky is falling and although there’s so much we don’t know, there’s something we can be grateful for every day and she wanted to create a brand that exudes that,” Bower says. “She created something so positive in the spirits industry.”

“We didn’t want to compete with the lower-end products. We are premium and we are elevated.”  —Christy Bower

In addition to an upscale vodka that is perfect in a creative cocktail or simply united with club soda or tonic, Engelking has founded a Gratefulist following that is committed to spreading positivity and lifting up others regardless of their differences, dedicated to making regular acts of kindness, helping when or where they can, and sharing these experiences to generate more “Gratefulists” who look at life as not a glass full but as a glass overflowing.

It’s an obvious ideal gift for those on your holiday lists, celebrating a birthday, or hosting you for dinner. But it also serves as a unique memento that will inevitably bring smiles and heartwarming feelings.

“You’re not going to remember who got you that bottle of wine you’ve got in your fridge. But when you have a bottle on your bar at home that has a really tailored, personalized message, you’re going to remember that person and the emotions associated with them,” Bower says. “And that is exactly what we want to do with this brand— make positive memories, relationships, and interactions.”

EXPERIENTIAL DRINKING AND DINING

SUPPER CLUBS AND SPEAKEASIES ARE RE-IMAGINING THE LOCAL CULINARY SCENE

The Valley’s culinary scene has long offered imaginative dining options, especially in recent years. However, a new wave of epicurean outposts is raising the curtain on something far more theatrical: experiential drinking and dining. From immersive supper clubs where dinner doubles as a show to clandestine speakeasies where cocktails whisper stories, the Valley is being transformed into a stage for epicurean imagination and indulgence.

SUPPER CLUBS: DINING AS THEATER

Leading the charge is SHIV Supper Club, a first-of-its-kind upscale concept in Old Town Scottsdale. Much like its namesake culinary tool, SHIV is crafted with precision, sharp in design, daring in its menu, and unforgettable in its atmosphere. With its cascading drapes, sculptural accents, dramatic lighting, and live music that reverberates with curated energy, the space feels like its own universe. The culinary program mirrors the stage, serving artfully plated dishes built on luxurious ingredients. Imaginative martinis, bespoke cocktails, and a thoughtful wine list tie it all together, ensuring every moment feels like part of the performance. At SHIV, dinner isn’t just a meal; it is fine dining amplified, offering a feast for eyes, ears, and palate alike.

In Chandler, Vybe restaurant offers its own sensory playground. As the anchor of The Forum entertainment complex, Vybe is designed to be a “choose your own adventure” kind of evening. Inside, wall-to-wall video projections set the backdrop while ambient performers glide through the dining room, creating a constant sense of surprise. A soundtrack of smooth lounge beats from rotating DJs provides rhythm while plates and cocktails deliver flavor and flair.

Not far away, another Chandler hot spot is helping to redefine Arizona nightlife. Warren’s Supper Club is quickly gaining a reputation for offering guests an intimate blend of dining, cocktails, and entertainment. With its elevated cuisine and stylish atmosphere, Warren’s takes the traditional supper club model and infuses it with modern Valley energy. Expect a place where every table feels special, every plate has a story, and every night offers an air of exclusivity.

For those seeking something even more elusive, The Ra Ra Room sets the gold standard. Hidden inside the Phoenix Suns’ downtown arena, this membership-only destination is the nation’s first private dining club tucked within a sports venue. Its entrance, marked only by a glowing martini glass, hints at the glamour beyond: a lavish Art Deco lounge awash in gilded details and smoky intrigue. Created by Suns and Mercury owner Mat Ishbia alongside culinary icon Mario Carbone, The Ra Ra Room indulges members with upscale favorites paired with world-class wines and spirits. Membership includes concierge service, valet parking, curated events, and early access to arena happenings. Open for select nights and home games, The Ra Ra Room proves supper clubs can be both timeless and cutting-edge.

SPEAKEASIES: SECRETS WORTH SHARING

While supper clubs dazzle with spectacle, Arizona’s new breed of speakeasies thrives on mystery, intimacy, and nostalgia. These hidden rooms are not simply spots to have a sip but also escapes into other worlds.

At The Peacock in DC Ranch, slipping behind The Living Room restaurant feels like entering Scottsdale’s best-kept secret. Just 1,000 square feet in size, the space hums with Prohibition-era charm, oozing ambiance thanks to its low-lit interiors, avantgarde animal prints and accents, and plush seating. Whether guests come for a nightcap or to linger with friends, the speakeasy slows time in the best possible way.

Just north of The Peacock, Poppy’s Office offers another kind of intimacy—one steeped in legacy. Tucked beside Liberty Station in North Scottsdale, the speakeasy is a tribute to the late Paul “Poppy” Keeler, a beloved figure in Arizona hospitality. Guests enter through a replica of Keeler’s own office, then pass into a warmly lit lounge adorned with family photos and mementos. Drinks at Poppy’s are as meaningful as they are beautiful, with seasonal creations that tell stories and signature pours that honor Keeler himself.

Finally, in Central Scottsdale, there is The Madam, which is hidden above the lobby at The Scottsdale Resort & Spa, a Curio Collection Resort by Hilton. Inspired by the 1920s, the ultra-intimate space is only accessible to those with the secret password. To find it, explore the brand’s social media or connect with the staff while on the property. Once you know it, make your way up a staircase to a hidden room filled with edible and drinkable wonders.

A CULINARY EVOLUTION

Together, these supper clubs and speakeasies are reshaping the way Arizonans approach a night out. They prove that dining and drinking are no longer about simply what is on the plate or in the glass alone. It is about the story, the stage, and an upscale adventure.

Food is one of the most powerful storytellers of culture. Every dish, every sip, and every aroma opens a window into the people, landscapes, and philosophies that shape culinary identities worldwide. This collection of standout restaurants brings this cultural exploration to life,

travel from Chiang Mai to Tokyo. Each dish reflects the “trinity of flavors”— sweet, sour, and salty—balanced in perfect harmony. Street food traditions are elevated but remain true to their origins, whether through bold broths, delicate noodles, or inventive dumplings.

STREET FOOD TRADITIONS ARE ELEVATED BUT REMAIN TRUE TO THEIR ORIGINS.

each one offering a passport to a distinct region of the globe with every plate.

MODERN MEXICAN ELEGANCE

Within the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, La Hacienda embodies the essence of Mexico’s rich culinary tapestry. Chef Richard Sandoval’s “Old Ways, New Hands” philosophy honors traditional recipes while applying European techniques and lighter, ingredient-driven presentations. Lobster tacos, rib-eye tampiqueña, and slowbraised carnitas arrive enhanced by escabeches, chile morita sauces, and cotija crumbles. And tableside guacamole sets the stage for a menu that pairs beautifully with more than 250 agave-based spirits curated by the eatery’s resident Tequila Goddess. (Yes, an in-house tequila expert is available to help guide guest tastings).

ELEVATED ASIAN STREET FOOD

Chef Angelo Sosa’s Kembara at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa is an edible odyssey through Asia’s vast landscapes, inspired by years of

Kembara celebrates Asia’s boundless diversity, embracing both the stories passed down through generations and modern innovation. It is a culinary passport to the bustling markets and night stalls of the world’s largest continent.

THE SOUL OF NORTHERN ITALY

Chef Matt Carter brings the traditions of Northern Italy to life at Fat Ox, named for the country’s famed cattle and wine festival. Carter’s travels through Italy inform a menu rooted in authenticity yet elevated by precision. Exclusive meats sourced from Northern Italy, delicate filled pastas such as agnolotti, and the earthy indulgence of truffles showcase centuries-old techniques still honored today. Hand-pulled cheeses and aged balsamic deepen the immersion into Italy’s culinary heritage. In the sleek, marble-accented dining room, guests are encouraged to linger, sip, and share, much as they would in the villages of Piedmont or Lombardy. Fat Ox distills the Italian philosophy that food is as much about community as it is about craft.

A PARISIAN ESCAPE

For nearly 25 years, Zinc Bistro has been Scottsdale’s gateway to Paris. Black-andwhite-tiled floors, a zinc bar, and sidewalk tables channel Boulevard Saint-Germain, while a hidden garden patio offers candlelit romance. Chef Matt Carter draws on his French Laundry training and Parisian inspiration to strike a balance between comfort and refinement. A Provençal bouillabaisse brims with saffron and shellfish; cassoulet Toulousaine warms with duck confit and foie gras sausage; and côte de boeuf with frites satisfies with timeless indulgence. The 25-foot oyster bar and nightly soufflés reinforce the French tradition of savoring.

SPAIN IN THE DESERT

Against the backdrop of Camelback Mountain, Prado at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia re-imagines Andalusia—the culturally rich southernmost autonomous community in Peninsular Spain—in the Sonoran Desert. Spanish traditions shine through woodfired cookery and bold flavors: gambas al ajillo with prawns and garlic, pulpo a la gallega with smoked paprika, and branzino with peppers and salmora sauce. Lamb chops with butternut squash purée and short ribs braised with Rioja wine showcase rustic elegance. The architecture complements the immersion, with Moroccan-inspired archways, lantern-lit courtyards, and fireplaces that echo the romance of Southern Spain.

SPANISH TRADITIONS SHINE THROUGH WOODFIRED COOKERY AND BOLD FLAVORS.

SPANISH-JAPANESE MASH-UP

Tiki Taka, a high-energy tapas bar at the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort that is helmed by Top Chef icon chef Richard Blais, fuses the artistry of Japan with the passion of Spain. Shareable plates, sushi, skewers, and even paella receive inventive twists, while cocktails highlight ingredients like yuzu, lychee, and matcha. The 30-seat indoor space pulses with digital art, neon, and a communal table, while the patio opens to desert views. The name itself, borrowed from soccer’s rhythmic passing style, signals movement, creativity, and collaboration—qualities echoed in the cuisine.

INDIAN FOOD REFINED

At INDIBAR, Indian fine dining takes center stage. Jewel tones, gold accents, and murals celebrating India’s cultural dynamism set the tone, while chefs Nigel Lobo and Ajay Singh bring the kitchen alive with precision and passion. Clay ovens, charcoal, and intricate spicework showcase India’s culinary breadth, from saffron-infused spirits to dishes that balance modern plating with soulful authenticity. The menu moves seamlessly between classic recipes and bold reinventions, offering an epicurean adventure that highlights the richness of Indian cuisine at a level rarely seen in Arizona.

Drink Like a Designer

Raise a Glass to the Epic Architecture and Atmosphere of Local Eateries and Bars

Architecture is far more than the simple construction of a space. It integrates art, science, mathematics, physics, culture, and human experience to create meaningful environments that reflect society’s wants and needs. This is especially true when it comes to the planning of a culinary space. Even subtle design choices—such as the curve of a bar or the rhythm of patterned tiles—can direct the energy of an evening.

Looking to feel inspired? Here are some of the most impressive architectural achievements when it comes to the drinking and dining scene in the Valley.

CARRY ON: FLIGHT OF FANCY

This aviation-inspired cocktail lounge is more than a bar—it is a sensory voyage through the jet-set era of the 1970s. The entrance sets the stage: a richly carpeted jetway with LED-lit flooring that mimics the glow of an airport bridge. Guests follow the illuminated path into a lounge styled like a first-class cabin. Walnut paneling wraps the walls, while brass accents and buttery leather banquettes create an atmosphere both retro and futuristic.

The centerpiece is a sculptural curved bar that acts as the “cockpit,” surrounded by custom LED “windows” projecting aerial views of skylines, clouds, and landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Chichén Itzá. Lighting cues shift with the evening to mimic takeoff, cruising

altitude, and golden-hour descent, turning each visit into a narrative. Small but whimsical touches—such as a glowing martini light that signals tableside service or a retro phone with cheeky prerecorded messages—make the design a playful part of the night. Even turbulence effects and acoustics were engineered to heighten the illusion, while reclaimed aircraft parts ground the concept in sustainability.

TOCA MADERA: MODERN MEXICAN MARVEL

Toca Madera blends big Latin flavors with bold design. The restaurant’s interiors fuse the warmth of nature with modern geometry, creating a balance of organic beauty and urban sophistication.

The undulating wood slat ceiling seems to ripple overhead, directing the eye toward dramatic pendant lighting that casts shadows onto lush greenery throughout the dining room. This living decor blurs indoor and outdoor boundaries, inviting the desert’s vibrancy inside. Dark wood tables, softened by rich textiles and gold accents, establish a grounding base against the theatrical ceiling.

Custom woodwork frames intimate booths, while geometric metal accents on partitions provide a modern counterpoint to the organic palette. The result is a layered, tactile space where mezcal cocktails sparkle under low lights and steaks arrive in settings as artful as the plates themselves.

Toca Madera feels less like a restaurant and more like a modern art installation that happens to serve food.

GEORDIE’S

LOUNGE AT WRIGLEY

MANSION: HONORING A LEGACY

Located atop one of Phoenix’s highest ridges, Wrigley Mansion has embodied grandeur since 1931. Inside, Geordie’s Lounge extends that legacy with a design that carefully balances preservation and innovation. Wood-beamed ceilings and stately stone columns frame the lounge, while intricate tile mosaics speak to Mediterranean influences. A carved staircase descends into the space like a set piece, reminding visitors of the craftsmanship of nearly a century ago.

The bar itself is newly elevated yet still reverent. Marble counters and rich woods recall timeless refinement, while backlit shelving transforms bottles into glowing sculptures.

The Wrigley brand’s historic diamond pattern subtly reappears behind shelving and along the bar’s outer shell—a refined nod to continuity. Sapphire barstools and plush seating add a pop of contemporary vibrancy, bridging history with modern luxury.

PLATFORM 18: ALL ABOARD

Platform 18 is one of the Valley’s most ambitious design experiences. Part of Century Grand, this cocktail bar recreates a 1920s Pullman presidential train car with staggering authenticity.

Polished mahogany paneling sets a regal tone, while art deco sconces and chandeliers scatter golden light across the narrow car. Period-accurate luggage rests on overhead racks, and bartenders wear vests and ties straight out of the Jazz Age.

The seating itself is part of the design story. Plush velvet booths conceal discreet speakers that rumble in sync with panoramic “windows,” which project moving landscapes of moonlit woods, snowy peaks, and bustling cities. The vibrations trick the senses into believing the train is rolling down the tracks. Combined with the gentle clinking of glassware and live jazz melodies, the effect is a multisensory illusion of travel.

Recent design enhancements expand the fantasy with the Tycoons & Titans menu: lobster toast presented with theatrical flair, caviar paired with homemade salt-and-vinegar chips, and champagne served tableside, along with a laundry list of other experiential cocktails. Here, food and drink join design as part of the journey.

BAR BAMBINO: RETRO CHIC

Tucked into Élephante Scottsdale, Bar Bambino is a cocktail lounge that balances exclusivity with artistry. Guests enter through a private curtain, immediately met by a space that feels retro, moody, and luxuriously layered. A curved bar clad in bronzed scallops and topped with veined green marble serves as the focal point, glowing under mirrored ceilings that amplify the lounge’s intimate lighting. Dark-stained woods envelop the room, giving warmth and depth.

Art is woven directly into the design: Custom wallpaper designed from a mural by Mexican artist Priscila González sweeps across the entirety of the bar, while a chandelier crafted by Yucatán artist Angela Damman crowns the central banquette. Seating options are thoughtfully curated—plush corners for intimate dates, open areas for groups, and an elevated DJ space to shape the soundtrack of the night.

KAUBOI: FINESSE MEETS FUSION

At Kauboi—pronounced Cowboy— design becomes a cultural conversation. The restaurant draws from a post-WWII moment when American cowboy culture fascinated Japan, blending Southwestern grit with Japanese precision in both its architecture and cuisine.

The lounge announces itself with bold material choices: Deep-blue glazed brick, raw stone, and textured metal converge into a space that feels rugged yet refined. A channel bar clad in lava stone tile grounds the room with a tactile, earthy edge. Leather seating adds warmth, while layered lighting highlights both brick and bottles. The dining room is anchored by a custom-built robata and grill suite—half dedicated to yakitori, half to Santa Maria-style steaks. Flames rise as chefs prepare dishes in full view, adding live theater to the space. Every detail—brick, leather, fire—plays into the duality of Kauboi’s aesthetic: East meets West, precision meets grit.

PYRO: ARCHITECTURE AFLAME

Pyro is the rare restaurant and bar where every surface feels like part of a larger narrative. Inspired by Japanese design and storytelling, the 4,200-squarefoot space captures both intimacy and grandeur. Rectilinear forms, decorative wooden screens, and dark, rich woods establish a grounding palette, while plush velvet seating and shimmering fixtures add intrigue. The inspiration draws from a 1930s Japanese casino led by “Madam Geisha,” reinterpreted with layers of history, texture, and fantasy.

Design flourishes abound: geisha-inspired patterns woven into textiles, bespoke chandeliers illuminating an expansive dining room, and a cocktail bar framed like a stage set. The open-hearth kitchen serves as the beating heart, where guests can watch flames leap against a backdrop of elegant minimalism.

Outdoors, a lush patio extends the design language, with lighting and landscaping that create a seamless flow between interior and exterior. Whether sipping sake at the bar or sharing plates under the stars, guests are surrounded by a thoughtful blend of heritage and modernity.

Just Breathe

FROM ADVENTURE TO PURE RELAXATION, CARLSBAD IS A PERFECT

COASTAL GETAWAY

The sun was just about to set as I arrived in Carlsbad, California. Located along a pristine stretch of Southern California coastline, about 35 miles north of San Diego, this seaside town beckons with its small-town charm and world-class attractions.

A beautiful sunset
Carlsbad is a destination where relaxation and adventure live side by side, inviting you to slow down and savor the coastal lifestyle.

I had driven through the quaint town before arriving at my resort, the Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, a Hilton Resort & Spa. Set just steps from the beach, the boutique property offered a comfortable home base with its spacious rooms and thoughtful touches—like the complimentary Beach Butler Service that sets up a spot on the beach for you with loungers, umbrellas, and towels; complimentary bike rentals; and complimentary local shuttle service.

The sky was beginning to turn various shades of pink as I checked in, so I quickly headed out. It was just a few minutes to walk from my room to the edge of the ocean, where I dug my toes in the sand, the waves of the Pacific Ocean lapping at them as the sun streaked the sky with colors as it dipped below the horizon. It was so serene and peaceful, and a perfect welcome to this coastal playground that offers a mix of laid-back charm, modern experiences, and a plethora of opportunities to both explore or relax.

The view from Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, a Hilton Resort & Spa

THINGS TO DO

Carlsbad offers more than just 7 miles of pristine sandy beaches and perfect year-round temperatures. It’s a destination where relaxation and adventure live side by side, inviting you to slow down and savor the coastal lifestyle.

Water fun—from swimming to surfing—is abundant here, as is biking and hiking. Nearby attractions include LEGOLAND California Resort, the Museum of Making Music, and the famous Flower Fields of Carlsbad Ranch, where from March 1 through Mother’s Day each year, 50 acres of flowers create a rainbow-colored hillside.

At the heart of Carlsbad is Carlsbad Village, a charming destination filled with boutiques, restaurants, and wine bars (make sure to enjoy a wine tasting at Carruth Cellars!).

For those looking for additional shopping in Carlsbad, The Forum Carlsbad has an assortment of popular stores and is becoming a hub for health and wellness options. Carlsbad Premium Outlets is the place to find great deals from brands ranging from Marc Jacobs to Fashionphile.

If outdoor adventures are more your calling, California Watersports offers everything from kayaking and paddleboarding to cute swan pedal boats, which you can use to explore Carlsbad Lagoon.

WHERE TO DINE

Dining options abound in Carlsbad. A few standout favorites that I tried were The Naked Café, a health-conscious locale that offered a tasty and filling breakfast; Kai Ola Sushi; Campfire, which had upscale comfort food—and yes, s’mores for dessert; and Shorehouse Kitchen, which offers breakfast all day.

Another standout locale is Chandler’s Oceanfront Dining, an award-winning destination at Cape Rey resort that’s open to the public. Large windows framed the ocean as I dined on a blue fin tuna poke tostada appetizer and chili crusted wild caught local sea bass.

Perhaps the most alluring quality of Carlsbad is its balance. It’s big enough to offer world-class amenities and attractions, yet small enough to maintain a welcoming, village-like feel. Whether you’re traveling with family, exploring with friends, or seeking a solo getaway, Carlsbad manages to be both energizing and restful. It’s a place that invites you to be as active as you’d like, and to linger, to breathe, and to savor every moment by the ocean.

THE BENTLEY SCOTTSDALE POLO CHAMPIONSHIPS DEBUTS LUXE CULINARY EXPERIENCES

POLO CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships returns Nov. 8 to 9 at WestWorld in Scottsdale, once again transforming the desert into a scene of sport, style, and celebration. Now in its 14th year, this must-attend polo event features six international matches and a weekend of indulgent experiences.

This year’s standout addition is the WestWorld Art & Wine Experience, where the sidelines turn into a gallery and vineyard. More than 100 artists and 20 Arizona wineries will showcase curated works and pours, all set against the backdrop of the McDowell Mountains.

“Besides being an extremely fun, elegant, and unique event, we always try to surprise,” says Polo Party Co-Founder Jason Rose. “With special guests, unexpected performances, and this year the all-new WestWorld Art & Wine Festival serving as the entryway, we truly have something for everyone—from hundreds of exotic cars to fashion shows and the fashion-forward looks of thousands in attendance. Polo matches are the heart of our event, but it has become so much more.”

Hospitality remains at the center of the celebration.

Bentley Scottsdale, Neiman Marcus, Barrett-Jackson, and Maple & Ash will host an intimate dining event for 350 guests, blending high design with gourmet cuisine.

The Scottsdale Maserati Drivers & Players VIP Lounge keeps the energy high with champagne, cocktails, and athlete access. And the Barrett-Jackson Champagne & Jazz Lounge delivers sparkling pours and live music at midfield.

Sunday shifts the pace with the Gospel Brunch, featuring a lavish buffet by M Culinary Concepts. For those seeking a more relaxed atmosphere, private tents and lounges offer the chance to sip, savor, and enjoy polo under the desert sun.

More than just matches, the Scottsdale Polo Championships has become Scottsdale’s signature fall affair, uniting food, wine, fashion, and sport in one unforgettable weekend.
