You Never Know Who You Are Inspiring

As I sat down to write this month's lifestyle letter, I was overwhelmed by the number of incredible women I have had the honor of meeting, knowing, and befriending in our local communities over the course of this last year. In just our small corner of the world, there are so many amazing women creating impact, leading with passion, changing the energy in the rooms around them, and lifting up others.

Recalling a recent conversation I had with one of our amazingly inspiring female partners, I realized that we do not always see or understand the ripple effect of sharing our story in vulnerability or how our actions or kindness can elevate and connect everyone around us. When we understand our hearts, we learn that we can choose to create the shift we want to see and feel. When we surround ourselves with women that elevate us and encourage us to grow and level up, we are reminded that "iron sharpens iron."

As you read through some of this month's features and learn about these amazing female business leaders, I pray you are reminded of your own strength, that you choose to lift up and encourage the women around you, and that you are inspired to lead with a heart to serve others.

Be the change you want to see.

Alicia Lewis: A Lifelong Entrepreneur with a Heart for Helping Others

of Passion and Purpose

Alicia Lewis’s journey as an entrepreneur isn’t just about numbers, retirement plans, or financial strategies—it’s about connection, family, and a deep-rooted passion for lighting people up and helping them achieve their dreams. Her story is woven with the influence of her father, a lifelong love for the entrepreneurial journey, and an unwavering commitment to helping others change their lives.

Alicia grew up watching her father, Chuck Layman, dedicate his life to helping people secure their financial futures. As a little girl, she saw firsthand the impact he had on his clients and how the work he was doing changed their lives. Inspired by the relationships he built and the trust he earned, she realized she wasn’t just observing someone who was good at their job; she was witnessing a man who truly cared, who saw beyond the numbers, and understood the dreams and fears of every person who walked through his door.

That passion was contagious, and at an early age, Alicia developed an entrepreneurial spirit that sparked her love for business, connection, and helping to change people’s lives. Her first venture into the business world came in the form of placing candy machines at Colorado Champion’s Sports Cafe (formally known as Blue Sports Grill or Miller’s Crossing) and was initially fueled by a goal of being able to visit and spend time with her grandmother in Ohio. This first journey into business offered valuable lessons in the power of connection, branding, and purpose. Having to navigate an audience that did not understand her purpose, Alicia learned that your “why” is what makes your work impactful and that sharing your story and who you are is

what connects others to what you offer in a way that is lasting and meaningful.

Saving up enough money to achieve her goal and then some, Alicia was empowered and decided to channel and build upon the success of her candy machines and purchase a pop machine to put into the teacher’s lounge at her school. Aiming to please, she did her research and made sure to stock the machine with fan favorites and all the varieties that her customers (at the time, her teachers) were looking for. Her dedication to connecting with and understanding her customers' wants and needs is something that Alicia has been perfecting from a very young age.

Talented in many avenues of life, Alicia pursued a number of passions before discovering her path in building Layman Lewis. Recalling a turning point in her life, Alicia shared with

us that on a father-daughter rafting trip, during a time when she felt like she was unsure of where she was heading, a simple afternoon with her dad changed the course of what she found purpose and focus in. That one conversation and opportunity to work through and navigate the waters of what she was feeling, thinking, and wanting out of life allowed her to chart a course and pivot in a direction that made her excited to envision, build, and create her future.

In 2007, Alicia and her father decided to build something together—a financial firm that felt like family, not just business. Layman Lewis Financial Group was born from a firm belief and conviction that clients deserved more than just investment advice. They deserved a full-circle approach to financial wellness, built on trust, education, real relationships, and the opportunity to have a conversation around finances that lights them up and gets them excited for their futures.

Alicia’s success as an entrepreneur isn’t just about business growth—it’s about the lives she’s touched. Her approach to business is deeply personal. She takes the time to sit with clients, learn their stories, and understand what truly matters to them, so that she can help them create a future they can look forward to. She doesn’t just talk about retirement. She helps people envision the life they want and then builds a roadmap to get them there. It’s about the couple who dreams of traveling the world in their golden years, the hardworking professional who wants to leave a legacy

for their children, or the widow who needs guidance in a time of uncertainty.

One of the most rewarding parts of her work is seeing the weight lift off clients’ shoulders when they realize they have a plan in place. That moment—when fear is replaced with relief and hope—is what fuels Alicia every single day.

Alicia Lewis’s story is one of passion, perseverance, and purpose. From the little girl who admired her father’s work to the accomplished entrepreneur, wife, mother, and mentor she is today, every step of her journey has been about more than just business—it’s been about people.

Her mission is simple but powerful: to help others light up, to build a community where clients feel like family, and to create a business forged on care, trust, and a heart for serving others.

And in doing so, she is building a legacy of her own.

AMANDA Kellogg-Enriquez

A SOURCE OF EMPOWERMENT, HEALING, AND PURPOSE

ARTICLE BY ADRIANA KARAGOZIAN PHOTOGRAPHY BY E.T.C. PHOTOGRAPHY, DANA MARTIN CREATIVE
By Dana Martin Creative

In a world where women are often expected to wear multiple hats, Amanda KelloggEnriquez stands as a luminous example of grace, strength, and unwavering determination. As the co-owner of Source Studio, a holistic wellness sanctuary, Amanda’s journey from a young woman seeking her own healing to a powerful force in the business world has been a story of resilience, purpose, and a deep commitment to women’s empowerment.

Born and raised in northern Colorado, Amanda always felt different, oftentimes not feeling as though she belonged and grappling with an innate sense that her purpose was of grave importance. “I went through an intense healing journey starting in childhood through my early thirties.” She pays homage and deep respect to her parents, as she was not an easy child, but they honored her authenticity and strong spirit. They were some of her greatest teachers in unconditional love, purpose, and leadership.

As a woman business owner, Amanda has faced each challenge with a quiet strength and steady commitment to her mission. A profound personal calling and desire to heal others inspired Amanda to open Source Studio, a sanctuary where ancient wisdom meets advanced technology to facilitate true healing. As a SoftWave practitioner, yoga, and spiritual teacher, Amanda integrates all of her skills into her work. She guides those who seek not only physical wellness but spiritual growth and emotional balance.

“Our bodies are so amazing, and we are so amazing. Source Studio helps tap into people's potential and their ability to heal themselves, so they can take their power back.” Amanda’s intention isn’t just to heal. It is to empower.

“My whole mission here, the second you walk in, you're just enveloped in love and connection. I am with you the whole way through. There's just this deep sense of love.” This bold conviction that

Amanda established with her husband six years ago has not only set Source Studio apart from other businesses but has reverberated Amanda’s frequency in her community. She believes in offering a safe space filled with love and connection for every individual who walks through their doors.

Amanda remains steadfast in her belief that the healthcare system is broken. It’s about “sick care” rather than true healing, and Source Studio aims to transform the healthcare system itself. “Our true mission is to actually change healthcare in the United States,” Amanda passionately declares, “by bringing true healing, community, love and connection back,” a statement that highlights her dedication to making a meaningful difference.

She’s also learned the importance of maintaining a worklife balance. As a mother of two, a wife, and a spiritual guide, she recognizes the challenges of juggling these roles. “Boundaries are sexy,” Amanda laughs, emphasizing the importance of setting limits for personal well-being and professional success. Through her daily spiritual practices, including meditation and affirmations, she finds the balance that allows her to show up as her best self for both her family and her clients.

“I am the change that I wish to see in the world, everywhere that I am. I honor my heart and inner authority and lead by example, for I must practice what I preach.”

Amanda’s empowerment stems from her ability to connect with others on a soul level. She has made it a priority to surround herself with like-minded women, believing that women are endowed with a unique ability to empathize and nurture others. “I am the change that I wish to see in the world, everywhere that I am. I truly am my own inner authority,” she shares, an empowering message that resonates with anyone who has ever struggled to find their voice. Her vision is clear: to create a world where everyone feels empowered to take charge of their own healing and well-being. “You are not just one thing. You are a whole being; a mind, body, and a spirit…. Everybody is special, and everybody has the deepest capacity to heal.” Amanda’s philosophy offers a refreshing reminder to all beings that we are more than capable of taking up space, leading with compassion, and creating businesses that are rooted in purpose.

For Amanda, the true magic of life lies in listening to your heart, following your intuition, and having the courage to walk your own path. “Honor and listen to your heart, because the heart is your guiding light, and it will never steer you wrong.”

Amna

Amna’s passion for skincare began at an early age.

Originally from Lahore, Pakistan, she grew up in an Eastern culture and was introduced to holistic beauty rituals as a young child, watching her mother whip up masks and treatments from natural ingredients.

“This foundation instilled in me a deep respect for the power of skincare as both a science and an art,” Amna says.

In 2019, she founded The Skin Lounge, blending clinical efficacy with luxurious, holistic care.

“My goal is not only to transform skin but to educate and empower my clients, helping them develop a long-term approach to skin health that aligns with their

lifestyle,” Amna adds. “I love what I do because it’s more than just skincare. It’s about helping people feel good in their own skin.”

Now, she doesn’t just want young women to feel confident in their own skin, but to trust themselves when it comes to discovering where they fit in the professional world – just as she did.

“You don’t have to have it all figured out right away. Explore, learn, and allow yourself to evolve,” Amna says. “Follow what excites you, not just what feels safe. The best careers are built on passion, resilience, and a willingness to take risks.”

It all began with a hail storm back in 2015. The storm damaged Misty’s home, catapulting her into a frustrating, confusing insurance claims process. Fortunately, the roofer she was using at the time assisted her and worked with the insurance company on her behalf.

That situation made Misty realize the importance of having a local advocate who not only understands construction, but also the insurance claims process. After her house was repaired, Misty got involved in the roofing and construction industry.

For a few years, she worked for another contractor. But, upon realizing differences in personal values, Misty walked away and decided to start her own company.

“I knew I wanted it to be built on a strong foundation of core values—not just in words, but in action,” Misty says. “By combining the first part of ‘values’ and ‘core,’ we created Valcore – a name that reflects our commitment to integrity, excellence, and putting people first in everything we do.”

While Misty acknowledges that businesses must make money to survive, she believes that by prioritizing people before profits, everything will work itself out. Focus on people, and the money will follow.

“If you help enough people get what they want, you can have anything in the world that you want,” she adds. “Loyalty, impact, growth, humility, and teamwork are my own core values.”

As an entrepreneur, the success of others motivates Misty. Her greatest inspiration is witnessing individuals hustle and chase after their dreams.

Her team members at Valcore Construction inspire her as well.

“Each person who works for us is working hard to improve the lives of themselves and their families,” Misty says. “They give selflessly to ensure that our clients are well taken care of and that everyone else on the team feels loved and supported.”

Jessie Rule

Event Director

for desk chair workspace, Owner of The

Rule Events

“I got into this business fueled by my passion for hospitality, as event planning is deeply rooted in creating memorable experiences,” says Jessie.

Six years ago, desk chair workspace recruited Jessie to manage a venue, something she hadn’t done before. Yet, she had years of experience managing various events, from weddings to festivals to fundraisers for nonprofits.

It was during COVID-19 when Jessie’s husband encouraged her to start The Rule Events. Running this business gives Jessie the space to let her creativity flow and execute much larger events.

But, from her perspective, it isn’t solely about event planning.

“We are building community and creating experiences, not just executing an event.”

Jenna Schaefer

Co-Owner of Mountain View Farmstead

Since her high school days, Jenna dreamed of owning a ranch. Both she and Ryan, her husband and high school sweetheart, felt it was necessary for raising their children and offering them something to tap into that was “bigger than themselves.”

The couple’s desires came into fruition in 2021 when they opened Mountain View Farmstead, providing local, responsibly-raised meats for the community.

“It has been a beautiful sight to see people are waking up to the importance of what is in our food, but also in how it is raised,” Jenna says.

On top of that, she believes this lifestyle has taught her kids invaluable life lessons to take with them wherever they go.

Erin Merkley

Dance Director of

Eleve

Dance Academy

“Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

That is one of Erin’s favorite quotes, and a philosophy she lives by.

Erin started taking dance classes when she was five years old and fell in love with it. She then set her sights on opening her own studio one day.

In 2023, Erin officially opened Eleve Dance Academy, offering exceptional dance training and performance opportunities for students of all ages.

“Dance has been a lifelong passion for me, and sharing that passion with others brings me immense joy,” Erin comments. “Seeing students grow in their skills and confidence, and knowing that I play a role in their artistic journey, is incredibly fulfilling.”

Wendy Buckley

Executive Director of Stillwater Ranch

Over 20 years ago, Wendy was listening to a radio interview featuring a woman who started a nonprofit ranch for youth in Oregon.

Upon hearing this, Wendy knew she was being called for a similar life mission.

A decade later, in 2014, she co-founded Stillwater Ranch, which offers veterans, service members, and their families programs and resources in a safe, healing, and peaceful environment.

“We always say there’s something about fresh air, sunshine, open space, animal interactions, and the camaraderie of like-minded people that’s good for the soul,” Wendy comments. “All that and more is part of the Stillwater Ranch ‘magic.’”

Adriana Karagozian

Owner/Head Chef of From Scratch Farm

Love is the driver behind everything Adriana does. It is her purpose—an unwavering passion that led her to start From Scratch Farm, a seed-to-supper company rooted in nutrition, sustainability, and care, by building backyard farmsteads and crafting intentional, inspired catering experiences.

Adriana's culinary journey began in childhood, steeped in love. These early memories aligned her with her intention to reconnect people to the land and their food. The lack of access to fresh, healthy ingredients in our communities inspired her to launch the business in 2023.

“Fresh, healthy food shouldn’t be a privilege," Adriana echoes. “We must nourish our bodies with the foods that help us live our highest good.”

The decision to start working with her husband, Wally, at Wally’s Speed Shop stemmed from Miriam’s desire to do what was best for her family.

As a mother of three, Miriam required a job with a flexible schedule. And with the rapid growth of the classic car repair and restoration business, Wally needed someone to help manage the office, so he could spend more time working in the shop.

“For me, accepting the office role was a no-brainer,” Miriam says. “I could better support my family’s needs that way. So, in June of 2020, Wally and I began working together.”

She’s now been managing the office and marketing at the shop for nearly five years, doing her best to find that balance between family life and work.

“I stay grounded by focusing on what I can control. Having an easy-going personality and willingness-to-help attitude is a plus, too. I cannot do it all alone, though,” Miriam adds. “At home, everyone in the family pitches in, and we work together there, too.”

She’s also grateful for the outstanding team at Wally's Speed Shop that keeps things running smoothly.

At the shop, Miriam loves to hear all of the stories that accompany the classic cars that pass through the family business.

“Every one of them has one,” she says.

“This was my dad’s first car.”

“I had one just like it when I was a kid.”

“My husband took me to prom in this truck.”

“The history and memories behind them are so fascinating to me,” Miriam comments. “Part of my job is to photo document them as they come through the shop. This is one of my favorite parts of what I get to do, and I enjoy seeing them move through the restoration process.”
