Celebrating the Guys Who Give Their All
This month, we raise our glass—and our gratitude— to the men who shape our lives and communities. Our June Men’s Issue is a celebration of strength, integrity, and everyday impact.
Inside these pages, you’ll meet six local leaders in our Men of Influence feature, Leading With Purpose . These are men who quietly (and not so quietly) inspire through their work, character, and unwavering commitment to making Lebanon a better place.
We’re also spotlighting a little “boys and their toys” action at MidTenn Powersports—because let’s face it, some toys just get bigger with age.
For Father’s Day, we’re honoring the dads who show up in all the ways that matter. Whether it’s a quiet presence, a loud cheer from the sidelines, or strong mentorship when life gets tough—dads deserve a day of appreciation, maybe even a relaxing day for Dad at Libelle Beech Salon . Trust me, they’ve earned it.
And speaking of incredible dads, I want to take a moment to celebrate the man in my life. A veteran, a lineman, a community servant, and a super dad to our six children—he is truly one of the most honorable men I know. His selflessness and quiet strength never go unnoticed, and our family is better because of the example he sets. Thank you Scott for everything you do to support and love us big.
I’d also be remiss not to mention my own Dad—my first hero and one of my greatest teachers. From him I learned work ethic, humility, and how to weather life’s storms with grace and grit. His lessons still echo in everything I do.
To every man making a difference in the lives of others—this month is for you. Thank you for showing up, standing strong, and leading with heart.
Cheers to the guys.

EVERYDAY INFLUENCE FROM SIX MEN IN LEBANON
ARTICLE BY LINDSEY HICKMAN
PHOTOGRAPHY BY KAT BRADSHAW PHOTOGRAPHY
In Lebanon, leadership doesn’t always come with a podium or spotlight. Sometimes, it looks like an early morning gym session, sweeping the sidewalk outside your shop, or coaching a tee-ball game after a full day at work. The men featured in this issue embody a quiet kind of influence—rooted in service, shaped by community, and powered by purpose.
From the exam rooms at Gregory Dental Group to the counters of Buckeye Drugs, from university offices to jewelry cases and nonprofit boardrooms, these professionals are as grounded as they are driven. They’re small business owners, educators, healthcare providers, and changemakers who believe in the long game—showing up, staying committed, and making room for others to rise.
Their days are long and often layered with responsibility: managing teams, mentoring youth, finding time for family,
and navigating the ever-evolving needs of the people they serve. But what sets them apart isn’t just their titles or talents—it’s how they lead with intention. For them success isn’t measured in sales or status, but in earned trust, relationships built, and lives impacted.
Faith plays a central role for many, as does a deep commitment to personal growth. Whether they’re pushing through setbacks, celebrating small wins, or simply trying to be better than yesterday, each man brings a sense of authenticity to his work and home life.
They don’t just live in Lebanon—they shape it. Not with fanfare, but with presence. Not by asking what the community can do for them, but by quietly asking how they can do more for others.
This is what leadership looks like in Lebanon. And these are some of the men who make it matter.
DeJeay Woods
Assistant Vice President / Loan Officer, Wilson Bank & Trust
With a schedule full of school dropoffs, coaching youth sports, and loan approvals, DeJeay finds balance through service and perspective. Whether helping a client finance a dream home or cheering on the 4U T-ballers he coaches, Woods is all in. “There’s nothing typical about my day,” he says, juggling responsibilities at home with Linley, Calloway, and Rook, and at work where he specializes in small business and consumer lending. Beyond the office, Woods is committed to community involvement—from serving as Vice Chair of Education with the Chamber of Commerce to supporting local schools through Everyone’s Wilson.
The legacy he hopes to leave? “To be good and faithful servants.” It’s a value that guides how he leads and learns— especially from failure. “Don’t focus so much on the successes or failures but on the experience itself,” he says. “Experience is what we get when we don’t get what we want.”
On tough days, inspiration comes in the form of three little voices shouting “Daddy!” when he walks through the door. Recently, a “small win” at home came when his kids discovered Michael Jordan—through a Christmas shirt and an impromptu viewing of Space Jam . “They now both know who the greatest basketball player of all time is,” he jokes, a proud sports dad passing down more than just stats.
Derrick Gregory
General and Cosmetic Dentist, Gregory Dental Group, PLLC
Derrick starts his day navigating school drop-offs, caffeine in hand, before seeing 30 to 40 patients at his Lebanon practice. Between exams, treatments, and the occasional snack, he’s managing a full plate—both professionally and personally. After hours, you’ll find him coaching his kids’ baseball and softball teams or dodging the siren call of Chick-fil-A.
At the heart of his work is a belief in partnership: “Your treatment is a team effort between the patient and dentist.”
His greatest hope is that patients trust that process—and the people behind it. Inspired by his faith, his wife’s resilience, his children’s joy, and a loyal staff, Gregory says, “I’m not my own. Anything I endeavour is for the glory of another.”
Recently, he celebrated what might seem like a quiet victory—earning a master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. “It was a very different type of academic challenge,” he says. “There were many late nights and early mornings. It’s nice to sleep again.”

Reggie Blair
Vice President of Enrollment Services, Cumberland University
Reggie’s calendar may be packed, but his purpose is clear: help students realize the opportunities available to fund their future. Whether he’s meeting with prospective families, reviewing strategies for student retention, or contributing to outreach through organizations like The 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee, Blair stays grounded in community impact.
He’s a big believer in growth. “I want people to remember me as the guy who always pushed them to be better,” he says. He advocates for development, even when it’s uncomfortable. “Be willing to accept constructive criticism and support the counsel of those close to you—even when you disagree.”
What motivates him? His children. “They don’t care how my day went. They just want to hang out with dad.” Their smiles are a daily reset.
And a recent, quietly monumental achievement? Finally organizing and color-coding two years of personal emails. “It was daunting,” he laughs. “But it felt like a huge victory.”
Cory starts most mornings sweeping the parking lot—just like his Uncle Steve taught him. “Pretend you’re the customer walking in. Is it clean? Welcoming?” That attention to detail carries into everything he does at Buckeye Drugs, from filling prescriptions to hunting down hard-to-find medications.
Cory McDonald
Pharmacist/Owner, Buckeye Drugs
A firm believer in faith, sweat, and fixing problems, McDonald has faced his share of tough days. But one painful setback brought a lasting lesson: “Faith to trust God to get me through it, and sweat to put in the work. You can’t just lean on a shovel and expect a hole.”
He’s deeply invested in the community—serving on multiple nonprofit boards and backing local sports teams— but his biggest inspiration is right at home. His wife Megan and daughters Ellie Beth, Lulu, and Ivy are his “MILE.” On tough days, he glances at the word written on his hand to remind him why he keeps pushing.
A recent proud moment? Watching all three girls conquer blue diamond slopes in Montana. “Seeing my 9-year-old ski fearlessly down the mountain... it did my heart good.”

Shawn Smith
Owner/Lead Designer, The Jewelers & Hushpiggies | Founder, One Hand Up
Shawn’s day begins at 4 a.m. with a workout and ends with dinner alongside his wife Lindsay and their pups at home—usually after carving a few custom jewelry pieces at The Jewelers. “Creating from scratch, hopefully making something that becomes a lasting legacy for a family, that’s what I love,” he says. He wears many hats—designer, entrepreneur, nonprofit founder—but is never the biggest in the room. “Don’t ever think you are the most important person there. Always give more than you receive.”
Smith credits failure as a teacher, not a threat. “Not taking the risk will never work,” he says. “I’ve seen businesses collapse from greed, inflexibility, or lack of passion. I try to learn from others and adjust.”
His biggest cheerleader? His mom. “There isn’t a day I don’t get a word of encouragement from her.”
A recent win that changed his day-to-day life? Hiring a GM who genuinely cares. “Most people never see the behind-the-scenes. But now, Lindsay and I can step away knowing our business is in trusted hands.”
Sallis didn’t start in real estate. He made the difficult decision to step away from a career he loved in teaching and coaching. It was a risk, but one that changed his family’s trajectory. “That leap gave us opportunities we never dreamed of,” he reflects. “Sometimes you have to get comfortable with big change.”
These days, what inspires him isn’t just market wins—it’s scripture (Philippians 4:13), poetry, and memories like celebrating 12 years of marriage with his wife, Kellie. Or looking back 30 years to when his parents took a leap of their own, moving the family to Lebanon from Louisiana.
“I’m grateful,” he says. “For the chance to work, to serve, to build something meaningful here. And to pass down something better.”
Leadership like Kenny doesn’t always shout—or slow down. Sometimes, it shows up ready to hustle, ready to help, and always ready to make Lebanon a little better than the day before.
Kenny Sallis
Owner, Sallis Realty Group | Board of Directors – Lebanon/Wilson County Chamber & EMTAR
For Kenny, most mornings begin behind the wheel— school drop-offs come first, followed by a full slate of real estate responsibilities. Some days it’s visiting a job site to check on a new home under construction; other mornings start with a deep dive into the latest listings before the coffee’s even cold. By afternoon, he’s sitting with sellers, showing homes, and wrapping up just in time to catch a ballgame or coach a team. “Ending the day on a high note,” as he puts it. But behind the calendar is something deeper: a community-first mindset. “I hope people know that I care. That we care,” he says. “Lebanon is special. The way we wave at each other downtown, the way we treat our servers, teach our kids manners—those little things make up the big things.”

Swing Into Flavor
Sammy’s at The Club Tees Off with Taste
Just off the fairway at Lebanon Golf and Country Club, a quick drive from historic downtown, Sammy’s at The Club is where laid-back luxury meets unforgettable dining. Though it sits on private greens, this clubhouse gem is fully open to the public, welcoming everyone to dine, unwind, and celebrate with style.
Sammy B’s has a long-standing relationship with the club, teeing off nearly 24 years ago with sister company, RSVP Management, Inc., running food service exclusively for members. After stepping away for several years, Sammy’s returned nearly three years ago—this time, opening its doors to the entire community for a hole-in-one experience in hospitality that everyone can enjoy.
The menu of crowd-pleasers hits straight down the middle: classic bar-style favorites like wings, cheese sticks, sandwiches, pizza, and hearty entrées, all served with that signature homemade touch locals have loved for years. It’s casual dining done right—no need to dress it up unless you’re headed to the back nine.
While Sammy B’s flagship downtown keeps it fresh with their salad bar game, The Club plays to its strengths by focusing on laid-back favorites, keeping both spots in top form without overlap.
Beyond great bites, this spot is an ace for events— rehearsal dinners, reunions, birthday parties, and more—tailored to your vision and budget. Whether it’s a quick nine or a full-on celebration, Sammy’s delivers a winning round.
For those looking to pair a great meal with a great view—or plan an event that scores—Sammy’s at The Club is always ready to step up to the tee.

The Story Behind Mid Tenn Powersports
What started as a family’s big idea has become one of the most recognized names in Tennessee’s Powersports world. Mid Tenn Powersports blends small-town charm with big-league inventory—offering customers not just machines, but a lifestyle.
David and Alex Isaacs, the husband-and-wife team behind the growing dealership group, juggle a full plate: running two bustling Powersports stores and raising their young children. But for the Isaacs, building a thriving business has always gone hand-in-hand with building a life they love—and making sure their employees can do the same.
“We wanted to create a company culture where work-life balance is a priority,” says David. “If we value that for our own family, we know our team does too.” This outlook has shaped every aspect of their operation—from flexible schedules to thoughtful compensation plans—and has helped reduce staff turnover while increasing morale and customer satisfaction.
The road to Powersports began with a phone call in 2016. Alex, then a teacher in Louisiana, got a call from her father, longtime auto dealer Eddie Collier, about a business opportunity in Columbia, Tennessee. A week later, the two were at
AIMExpo, exploring options. By mid-2017, they launched Columbia Powersports, with Alex stepping in as partner and general manager. Eddie continued running his car dealerships but stayed closely involved in the new venture, helping implement automotive-style systems that brought structure and efficiency to the Powersports space.
Three years later, David, who had been working at Polaris, joined the business full-time. Not long after, the couple tied the knot—and began laying the foundation for a major expansion.
The success of their first location led to interest from major OEMs, and soon the couple had their eyes set on a second site. They acquired the long-standing Howard’s Honda dealership in Nashville and, while running operations there, began developing a new state-of-theart facility on an 18-acre lot off Interstate 40. In April 2024, Mid Tenn Powersports officially moved into its new 70,000-square-foot headquarters here in Lebanon.
“It was a huge team effort,” says David. “From relocating inventory to setting up new departments, our staff went above and beyond.” That teamwork paid off—today, Columbia and Lebanon locations support nearly 80 employees and growing.
Mid Tenn Powersports offers something for every outdoor enthusiast: off-road vehicles, motorcycles, personal watercraft, pontoon boats, jet boats, and golf carts. The dealership stocks top brands like Polaris, Honda, Can-Am, Yamaha, Suzuki, Sea-Doo, and Bennington, all under one roof. Their full-service operation includes financing, parts, accessories, maintenance, and even vehicle pickup and delivery.
Though they've grown rapidly, the Isaacs haven’t lost sight of their grassroots beginnings. “We’re proud to be locally owned and operated,” Alex says. “We want people to walk in and feel like they’re part of something exciting—something personal.”
That personal touch extends to their marketing, led by Alex’s sister Catherine, who has helped shape a brand that’s focused less on hard sales and more on lifestyle. “We use social media to reflect who we are,” says Alex. “That’s what connects with people.”
From their first sale in 2017 to a booming two-location enterprise, Mid Tenn Powersports is proof that passion, purpose, and a strong team can take you a long way— both on and off the road.
Definition of Concrete, we look at concrete surfaces as an open canvas on which to create. We offer various decorative concrete overlay and wall art, stamped concrete, concrete engravings and other custom design options.
Every first Saturday of the month, a unique kind of horsepower takes over the Nashville Superspeedway—not the thundering roar of race cars, but the rumble of engines from all walks of automotive life. Nashville Cars n' Coffee, a monthly gathering for car enthusiasts, has become a staple of Middle Tennessee’s motorsports culture—and it’s only getting bigger.
The event got its start in 2012, when founder Ben Barbour began organizing casual Saturday morning meetups in the Cool Springs area. “Back then, we were just a small group of car lovers—about 50 of us—who wanted a place to share our passion,” Barbour recalls. Fueled by social media and word of mouth, the event quickly gained momentum.
As attendance grew into the hundreds and then the thousands, it became clear that Cars n' Coffee was more than just a local meetup—it was a movement. In 2017, the team officially formed Cars and Coffee Nashville LLC, transitioning the event into a full-scale operation with a focus on building community and connecting enthusiasts with automotive brands and services from around the world.
NASHVILLE CARS N’ COFFEE ROLLS INTO THE SUPERSPEEDWAY
By 2023, the original venue could no longer handle the size and scope of the event. That’s when Nashville Cars n' Coffee made the move to its new home at the Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, offering ample space for both show cars and spectators, plus room for new experiences like track day partnerships and driving demos.
“All makes and models are welcome,” says Barbour. “You just show up, park, and enjoy. It’s really that simple.”
Running from 8 to 11 a.m., the event brings together more than just cars. Local and global vendors line the venue, offering everything from specialty coffee to car care products. It’s a dynamic, business expo-style environment where local companies get front-row access to a diverse and enthusiastic crowd.
For 2025, aspiring and enthusiastic gearheads can mark their calendars for these upcoming events: June 7, July 5, August 2, September 13, October 11, November 1, and December 6.
Vendor spots and banner ad opportunities are still available for the 2025 season. To get involved or learn more, visit them online or email info@nashvillecarsncoffee.com.

Where Rust Meets Revival
THE TIMELESS CRAFT OF BLAST FROM THE PAST
ARTICLE BY LINDSEY HICKMAN | PHOTOGRAPHY BY MICRO MOMENTS PHOTOGRAPHY
Tucked away here in Lebanon, Blast From the Past isn’t just a shop—it’s a time machine. Since 1996, when local legend Larry Heavy Duty Frazer fired up the first sandblaster, this unassuming metalworks haven has been breathing new life into the forgotten, the weathered, and the well-worn. When owner Vance Gregory took the reins in 2008, he didn’t just continue the legacy—he and his son Ryan added a fresh coat of vision, adding powder coating and sandblasting safe rooms.
Today, this local family-run outfit is where history gets a second chance. Industrial parts, classic car frames, porch railings from a bygone era, even rust-bitten antiques that belonged to someone’s great-granddad—they all roll in battered and bruised, and roll out gleaming with promise.
But their work isn’t just admired locally. Blast From the Past has made several appearances on PowerNation (formerly PowerBlock), the go-to TV destination for automotive builds and custom restoration. Their skilled hands have helped turn dusty
muscle car dreams into rolling, roaring reality—like the unforgettable 1970 Challenger featured in Project Ultra Violet, the transformation of a 1970 Camaro's suspension , and the rejuvenation of a K5 Blazer chassis in Klassy K5
You’ll also find their handiwork inside some of Nashville’s trendiest bars and restaurants, where revived powder-coated tables and vintage fixtures set the stage for well-known musicians to sip whiskey and entertain. Many of these restorations were commissioned by artists seeking to infuse their venues with authentic, timeworn charm. Whether it’s a rusted antique, a weathered handrail, or a classic car frame in need of resurrection, the crew brings every project back to life with unmatched dedication and craftsmanship.
Their charm lies not just in their tools, but in their respect for the past and eye for detail. They work Monday through Friday, sanding down the decades and polishing up pride, one project at a time.
At Blast From the Past, every job is a history lesson—and every finished project tells a new story.

SOUTHPAW STOGIES
Luxury on Wheels Brings Sophistication and Cigars to any location
When Wesley Chandler first stepped into a cigar lounge years ago, it wasn’t just the cigars that stuck with him—it was the experience. That blend of conversation, connection, and laid-back luxury sparked something bigger. With a background in hospitality and a growing passion for cigars, Wesley saw an opportunity to bring the lounge experience directly to the people. And with that, Southpaw Stogies was born.
Designed inside a custom trailer, Southpaw Stogies delivers what Chandler calls casual luxury on-site at weddings, bachelor parties, birthdays, corporate events, and more. Guests are greeted with cutting and

lighting service, curated cigars, a certified tobacconist on hand, music, TV, WiFi, and an inviting outdoor patio setup. Every detail is dialed in to make the experience elevated but relaxed, refined but never stuffy.
And while the humidor is stocked with cigars for every palate and price point, it’s the vibe that keeps people talking. “What we really bring is atmosphere,” says Chandler. “It’s a place to hang out, celebrate, unwind—and feel taken care of.”
The Southpaw Stogies trailer has quickly become a local favorite for private events across Middle Tennessee, combining craftsmanship and comfort in one unforgettable
experience. It’s more than a lounge—it’s a rolling reminder that good moments deserve great cigars.
And for those who want to enjoy the Southpaw experience more often? Let’s just say Chandler has something new on the horizon. A brick-and-mortar Southpaw Stogies lounge is set to open in Lebanon this July—bringing the same energy and attention to detail to a permanent home base.
Until then, the trailer keeps rolling— bringing people together, one celebration at a time. Visit southpawstogies.com to book.

SO YOU WANT TO BE A COWBOY
DISCOVER THE WHIMSY OF THE WEST AT PAWS UP MONTANA
Favorably referred to as the “Last Best Place” and the “Treasure State,” Montana has captured the hearts of cinematic cowboys like Taylor Sheridan and Harrison Ford and inspired the television series, “Yellowstone” and its prequels, “1883” and “1923.”
Though fictional, they’ve reminded America of its deeply-rooted spirit for adventure and the simple yet rugged way of life that we all crave. Whether its the backdrop of jagged, snowcapped peaks or the endless golden pastures that are peppered with livestock, this Rocky Mountain soil is a breeding ground for dreamers and doers, and the people who call it home are no strangers to the ritual of ranch life. So, you want to be a cowboy? Slipping on some leather and having a little hide in your hat are good ways to start, but visiting a resort that brings the best of this life to the forefront, while also embracing modern luxury, is the experience of a lifetime. Paws Up Montana sprawls the distance of 37,000 private acres of historic estate-land, which houses a working ranch and 10 miles of Blackfoot river. Personalization is key—a divine selection of cuisine for the foodies, awe-inspiring activities for the adrenaline seekers, and world-class lodging that tickles every fancy from stargazing glamping, to timber-style family dwellings, to the uniquely designed green “o hauses” that invite the outside world in.

WHAT TO DO
To change your attitude, you need a change in altitude. Gain some speed or turn up the adrenaline level with ATV tours, electric biking, mountain biking, go-karts, paintball, rappelling down Lookout Rock or whitewater rafting down the Blackfoot River. Indulge in the western art of living with archery, fly-fishing, hiking or sporting clays. For those who want to immerse themselves in the language of horses, there are horse-related adventures such as lessons, grooming or feeding, horse-whispering workshops or organized trails rides. Riders can also enjoy cattle drives that bring you back to yesteryear—driving a herd of cattle across the famed landscape— and bear witness to mustang gentling, where the Equestrian Manager communicates with a wild horse through body language and tone of voice. Skyline Aerial Adventure Park is another notable warm-weather activity, taking guests on two high-ropes courses.
DRINK & DINE
Montana’s best kept secret? Our hideaway chefs, making waves from the Montana wilderness. Chef Brandon Cunningham, Executive Chef at the Green O, is a James Beard Award finalist whose creations at the Social Haus are highly curated through an 8-course tasting menu. Other highly trained and talented chefs like Chef Brett Edlund, Chef Ben Scott, Executive Pastry Chef Krystle Swenson, and Sunny Jin, the General Manager of Food and Beverage, are part of the intricate patchwork of the culinary experience at Pomp, Trough, Shed, Camp and the notable Chuck Wagon—a summertime treat where guests can ride a hay wagon along the banks of the Blackfoot River for an Old West-inspired chuck wagon dinner. The menu ranges from all-natural chicken and Tomahawk ribeye to fresh vegetables grilled over an open flame campfire.
Well Health Centers provide an all-inclusive health experience! Our primary focus is convenient routine corrective chiropractic care and nutrition programs as an added bonus.
ALL of our locations have built-in Well Shops with hand-picked nutrition designed with YOUR unique goals in mind! We want long-term, sustainable health for you.
WHERE TO STAY
Luxury Homes are categorized into preference-based properties that boast the thrill of wilderness living. For larger families and multigenerational groups, consider the Wilderness Estates. At 3,250-square-feet, these estates sleep up to eight guests and feature three large suites with private baths. The Big Timber Homes are available in one-to-three bedroom options and come ornamented with fire places and private decks. The Meadow Homes are 1,100-square-foot single-story homes that sleep up to four guests, situated amid a pastoral and treed setting. For an extra nod of perfection, choose one of the luxury homes that comes equipped with a private tent— ideal for anyone traveling with children (or adults who beckon back their childhood!).
For a more primitive experience, Glamping Homes offer the right amount of canvas to create a close-to-nature experience. Available mid-May through mid-October, choose from river settings to creeksides, bluffs or cliffs. Each tent is adorned with something unique—a copper tub, a picturesque view of Lewis and Clark’s famous Lookout Rock and Western-chic furniture throughout. Zip down the windows to allow for the cool nightly breeze, yet enjoy the modern convenience of electricity. Each campsite has a dining pavilion. And don’t miss the s’mores boards around the communal fire pit, offered by your own s’moresologist—yes, you read that right, and yea, it’s a thing.
Lastly, but certainly not least, are the state-ofthe-art accommodations of the Green O hauses. This portion of the property is completely curated for those 21 years of age and older. It’s a resort within a resort, a hidden pearl in an oyster of experience. The Tree Haus is elevated 23 feet in the air and offers unparalleled forest views. The Green Haus includes a skylight above the bed for an unmatched view of pluck-em-from-the-sky stars. The Round Haus has curved, floor-to-ceiling windows that offer 180-degree panoramic views. Both the Green and Round Hauses are dog friendly, too, so Fido can rest in the lap of luxury. The Light Haus is illuminated by skylights and unique glass design.
