Men of Influence Show Up In Different Ways For Good

Welcome to our annual Gents' Movers + Shakers issue. We're excited about this year's lineup of engaging men of influence who bring unique strengths, talents and their own backgrounds in making our community a great place to be.

Every year, we highlight changemakers and influencers in our community, starting with our May Ladies issue, and this month, June, where we give the gents fair turn.

And if we do say so ourselves, we’re pretty impressed with this year’s lineup.

We had an opportunity to get all the Gents together for a photo shoot at Branch & Barrel Distillery, an award-winning, locally owned distillery in a pretty drab South Metro commercial district but with a tasting room that feels like you’re stepping into a hip speak easy. A true local gem.

And for a diverse group of guys in different professions coming together for the first time? It was like old friends reuniting. A pretty magical afternoon.

That’s one of the best parts of my job, being a part of uniting people in the community by sharing their stories. At Highlands Ranch City Lifestyle, we exist to tell the stories of people living right here in Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree, and it’s an honor to make these connections.

And to all the dads out there, happy Father’s Day! A father’s gifts of quality time, life-giving words, and positive actions have a long-lasting impact on his children.

As I reflect on fatherhood this month, here are just a few of the ways dads can build up their home:

• A father’s strength can be powerful

• A dad’s words can be fueling and inspirational

• Hugs from a dad can be deeply comforting

• A dad’s smiles can instill joy and confidence

• Time with a dad can be fun and productive

• A dad’s physicality can be challenging

• A dad’s guidance can be life-changing and foundational

• A father’s correction can be life-saving and life-giving

• Adventures with a dad can be exciting and memorable

Let your father or a father figure in your life know how much he matters to you. And if you are a dad, let us be the first to say: thank you. You are invaluable to the people who know and need you as well as the community around you.

Happy Father’s Day!

CONTRIBUTING TO OUR COMMUNITY ONE TOOTH, HOME, PEST, SPIRIT, AND WELLNESS CHECKUP AT A TIME

TELL OUR READERS A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF.

Born in California, my parents moved here in 1979 to plant a church. I graduated from Highlands Ranch High in 1996 and then attended Adams State University on an athletic scholarship, where I studied kinesiology and exercise science. My parents were ministers and owned a commercial janitorial business, so I’ve been inspired by them. I own three companies: JARFit, Optimum Edge Wellness, and Prodigy Performance Greens. In March, my wife Tamika and I launched Metamorphosis Church as a passion project to share the love of Jesus Christ with our community. Our goal is to bless as many people as possible in as many ways as possible.

Jason Robinson

Owner and CEO JARFit, Optimum Edge Wellness, and Prodigy Performance Greens

Lead Servant at Metamorphosis Church

WHAT IS THE BEST PART ABOUT YOUR WORK?

Genuine human connection. I judge my success not by how many deals I close or clients I have, but by how many genuine connections I make. If I’m impacting people, everything else will follow.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE HIGHLANDS RANCH COMMUNITY?

In 1997, I helped open the Foleys, now Macy’s, at Park Meadows Mall. Witnessing all the growth over the last 30-plus years has been incredible.  Also, everything is right here. With my chaotic schedule, not having to deal with traffic is a blessing.

WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH?

My wife!  She’s the most hilarious person I know.

WHAT IS THE CONNECTION BETWEEN BODYBUILDING AND THE METAMORPHOSIS CHURCH?

I believe that Christ transformed my life and gave me the faith that I could also transform my body. I discovered that the discipline and habits transformed not only my body, but also my spiritual life. Discipline creates a neurological response that activates the part of our brain connected to the spiritual world. Fasting also is shown to grow people spiritually, and our diet is so restricted, I treat my diet as a fast. To me, bodybuilding is spiritual.

Certificate in Periodontology

Foundation Implants & Periodontics

TELL OUR READERS A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF.

My father was a chemist for the water department in Detroit and I picked up a love for science. We then moved to Texas, where I discovered a passion for the musical arts. As an undergraduate, I double-majored in religious theology and chemistry. Dentistry is a practical outlet for both my interest in science and artistry. After living in Illinois for my doctorate and then Georgia for specialty training in periodontics and implants, my wife, daughter, and I moved to South Denver to find a community we want to grow with.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR WORK?

Science and research have shown that gum disease directly affects systemic health. I enjoy helping patients achieve beautiful smiles, but I feel most accomplished helping patients achieve optimal health. Whether someone is trying to control their diabetes, prevent dementia, stabilize heart disease, or just live a healthy lifestyle, supporting patients in their dental journey is the most fulfilling.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE SOUTH METRO DENVER COMMUNITY?

The people! I’ve been fortunate to travel all over the world, but nowhere has felt quite as welcoming as this community. We feel like we’re a small puzzle piece that has found a perfect fit in this beautiful mosaic.

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO COME INTO A WELLESTABLISHED LOCAL PRACTICE AND TAKE IT OVER?

I am fortunate to take over such a well-respected practice and team. This team and I are on the same page to maintain the practice’s well-known standards of care. The relationship any healthcare provider has with their patient is so valuable, which I cherish; I specifically chose my specialty to see patients and families for years. Growing together with my community and being a trusted provider is the greatest honor.

TELL OUR READERS A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF. I grew up in Tucson and graduated from the University of Arizona in Finance. I didn’t like sitting at a desk, so I got a job in pest control with a big company. I managed the office, transferred to Colorado, and my wife and I started our company in 2000.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR WORK?

The detective work involved in finding solutions to help residents and businesses with pest problems.

Sean Meade

Co-owner, Guardian Pest Solutions

Co-Founder, Lone Tree Cars & Coffee

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?

Take care of your customers — don’t forget who pays the bills.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES, OR HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR FREE TIME?

Active at church, member of Porsche club, working around the house, spending as much time with my wife as possible, and traveling.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE HIGHLANDS RANCH COMMUNITY?

How small it becomes when you meet and get to know people.

WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH?

My kids and family.

WHERE DID THE IDEA OF CARS & COFFEE COME FROM?

Michelle and I started Lone Tree Cars and Coffee in October 2020, because we saw a desperate need for people to have community. It’s awesome to see 300 cars and 600 people just talking and being outside.

Tony English

HQHomes, Owner and Managing Partner

Founder and Co-owner, Farmbox Foods

TELL OUR READERS A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF.

I was born in Chicago. My single mother moved us to Colorado when I was 10 years old. I thought electrical engineering would be the way to go — until I took advanced calculus. I decided that being an engineer was not my cup of tea, so I became a Realtor and haven’t looked back. I founded FarmBox Foods to solve the need to house and feed the homeless.

WHAT IS THE BEST PART ABOUT YOUR WORK?

As a Realtor, the feeling of helping people find their perfect home is exceptionally fulfilling.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES, OR HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR FREE TIME?

I love to tinker and invent things. Getting into fun adventures with my family is my nirvana.

WHAT ENCOURAGED YOU TO START FARMBOX FOODS?

While driving downtown, I could not help but feel awful about all of the homeless people living in tents. It broke my heart. I’d invented a few hydroponic

systems that grow the best food, so I thought, why not take used shipping containers and make temporary housing, and put a hydroponic farm on the outside of the shipping container dwelling?  That evolved into hydroponic, mushroom, and fodder farms on the inside, which are now feeding the needy all over the world.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?

The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale - A 30 minute self help video changed my life and taught me focus.

TELL OUR READERS A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF. I was born and raised in Lakewood. I went to Boston University for undergrad and realized there was no place like home, so I returned to Colorado to get a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at Regis University. I then attended medical school at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed my residency in Family Medicine at Saint Anthony North. Being a family medicine doctor means I get to see kids and adults in various settings, such as acute illness, hospital medicine, and regular office visits. Medicine has always been my calling. It merges what I am passionate about most: problem-solving and socializing. There is never a dull day in medicine!

Dillon Le, M.D.

M.S. Board Certified Family Medicine Physician

Owner of Ascend Direct Primary Care

Hospitalist at AdventHealth Parker

WHAT IS THE BEST PART, OR YOUR FAVORITE THING, ABOUT YOUR WORK?

I have the privilege of getting to know people at some of the most vulnerable points in their lives, and they entrust me to help them feel better in some capacity.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE BEEN GIVEN?

Chase two rabbits and you’ll catch none.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES, OR HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR FREE TIME?

Spending time with my family comes first when it comes to free time. Besides that, I’ve recently gotten into golf and enjoy that even though I’m awful. I am also into powerlifting and coffee.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT OUR READERS TO KNOW?

I will be launching a direct primary care clinic in Fall 2025. I currently work as an internal medicine doctor at AdventHealth Parker, but I want to return to my roots as a family medicine doctor. Getting to know people’s stories is a big part of why I took this career path, and continuity with my patients in the clinic is something I miss.

LIFE LESSONS FROM THE GOLF COURSE

Greatness Through Grit

ARTICLE BY KEVIN COLLINS | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

“In golf, as in life, slow down long enough to appreciate what you’ve built — and who you’ve built it with.”

Golf is more than just a game — it’s one of life’s most outstanding teachers. In a world full of quick fixes and instant gratification, it’s easy to get lost in Instagram tips that promise the perfect swing or business gurus claiming to have the one secret to overnight success. But the truth is, whether you’re building a great golf game or a world-class Club, there are no shortcuts. Every round I’ve played and every milestone we’ve reached at Ravenna Country Club has reinforced the same lesson: real success is earned — by showing up, putting in the work, and learning profound truths that go beyond technique or score.

Ravenna Country Club wasn’t born out of convenience. It was built from grit, vision, and relentless commitment. And along the way, I’ve learned that the same principles that shape a great golf game also shape a fulfilling life. Here are five lessons the course — and Ravenna — have taught me:

PATIENCE AND PERSEVERANCE ARE A MUST.

In 2014, when I stepped in to lead Ravenna, we were not the club you know today. The real estate development had just emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. We had 50 members and a tent in place of a clubhouse. Ravenna, like Rome, wasn’t built in a day. Ten years later, we are approaching our membership cap, and development is nearly sold out.

KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN AND FOCUSED ON YOUR GOALS.

Great golfers aren’t made overnight. They’re built through hours on the range — grinding through swing drills and blistered hands, wrapped in tape to finish the session. They endure the monotony of putting drills, starting over time and again. That discipline, that focus — it’s what separates the good from the great. Those same skills carried us through one of the most pivotal

moments in Ravenna’s story: the construction of our permanent Clubhouse. For 17 years, Ravenna had operated under a temporary tent. Members had waited long enough. From moving 300,000 cubic yards of earth to pandemic-related construction challenges, our eyes were on the mission. Just like a round of golf is won a single stroke at a time, we poured the foundation and built the clubhouse brick by brick, detail by detail — until we opened the doors in 2022. It wasn’t glamorous or easy, but it was worth it. Just like in golf, greatness is earned through grit, not shortcuts.

EVERY GOLFER LANDS IN THE SAND — WHAT MATTERS IS HOW YOU RECOVER.

Golfers know this better than anyone: you’re going to end up in the bunker now and again. That’s inevitable. What defines you is how you respond — whether you crumble under pressure or get creative, get better, and come out stronger on the next shot—like Bryson DeChambeau in the 2024 US Open, winning the tournament with a fantastic mid-range bunker shot (one of the most challenging shots to master in golf).

At Ravenna, we’ve faced our fair share of bunkers: economic downturns, construction challenges, financial uncertainty, and unexpected curveballs. But we didn’t fold. We dug in. When others pulled back, we doubled down. Our setbacks became growth opportunities on our path to excellence. Now we offer experiences not found at other clubs, such as Buona La Prima, a wine tasting and private dining room adorned with a hand-applied mason barrel ceiling and distinctive artwork. Additionally, our investment-grade Ravenna Metro District bonds are an indicator of confidence in our long-term vision and financial strength.

Challenges didn’t define us. They refined us. And the result is a Club — and a future — built to last.

ONE DAY ... ONE STROKE AT A TIME.

You don’t win the round on the first hole. Success is earned one shot at a time, one day at a time. At Ravenna, we didn’t become a world-class Club overnight — we honored the process. It began with Raphael Grille, followed by La Bella Vita - the Fitness Center and Pool. Then came the Clubhouse, and most recently, our event lawn complete with a waterfall and a soothing pond, Il Prato. Each step builds toward what is now Villa Ravenna , our whole Club campus. Today,  we turn our focus to wellness — helping our members live longer, healthier, more fulfilling lives through our new Performance and Longevity Center.

Each element of our growth was a stroke — thoughtful, intentional, with the long game always in mind. If you try to swing for the fences on every hole, you’ll burn out. But one stroke at a time, you can build something extraordinary.

APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY OF EACH DAY AND EACH LESSON LEARNED.

Golf reminds us to look up and admire the view from the tee box. To appreciate the rustling trees, the golden light just before sunset, shining behind the hogback on the 18th green. Ravenna is a place that invites you to pause and take it all in.

With frescoes inspired by the Sistine Chapel, the soft trickle of water down Il Prato’s tiered waterfall, or Chef Jason’s incredible cuisine shared among friends on the patio, Ravenna is full of beauty, and with it, gratitude. Every detail reflects a deep love for timeless craft.

And perhaps that’s the most important lesson of all: In golf and life, slow down just long enough to appreciate what you’ve built — and who you’ve built it with.

At Ravenna, we’re not just building a Club — we’re building a legacy: one swing, one decision, one connection at a time.

Here’s to the next chapter.

Kevin Collins is the president and CEO of Ravenna Country Club in the foothills of Douglas County.

WHAT’S YOUR FLAVOR?

Cocktail

Quiz

8-13 POINTS OLD FASHIONED - You are as classic as they come, an authentic slice of Americana! You’re a bold person, and you like your drinks to match. You want your Whiskey to be the star of the show, and the only mixer necessary is a bar spoon of sugar and a dash of bitters to lift up the spirit and soften the edges. There is a good chance that when you order your Old Fashioned, you request a Whiskey by name! You’re a strong person with a strong personality, and you need a strong drink to match.

14-18 POINTS CAFE BOULEVARDIER – You’re aesthetic. You like dark rooms, coffee, and books. People can find you at only the best speakeasies in town, drinking by candlelight, looking like you came straight out of a magazine. The Cafe Boulevardier is your perfect match: the smokey, rich flavor of dark espresso, the luxurious richness of sweet vermouth, and the exciting, against-the-grain pop of Campari. It may not be for everyone, but you like it that way.

19-25 POINTS ELDERFLOWER GIN & TONIC – Excitement and fun are everything to you. You can be a little unpredictable, but that is half the fun! You could be relaxing peacefully enjoying a beverage in your backyard, then suddenly throwing an impromptu karaoke party because that “one song” just came on. You are here for the energy and the excitement. You are the type of person to chase the adrenaline rush and go for a hike in the woods all on the same day. The woodiness of the Gin, the brightness of the tonic, and the unexpected joy of the elderflower. You are ready for anything and destined to spend time in the spotlight.

26-32 POINTS ATOCHA DAIQUIRI – Sunshine and good vibes are on the horizon! You go with the flow and like to take it easy and breezy. If you could travel the world and meet new people daily, you wouldn’t hesitate to pack your bag. The unapologetic, funky fun of the Atocha Rum has an explosive personality, the sunshine tartness of the fresh lime juice is bright and expressive, and the deep and sweet pool of demerara sugar screams adventure and fun. All of these energies get wrapped up together into one unforgettable person. So embrace the waves as they take you on your journey; you don’t know where you will end up, but you know it will be 5 o’clock when you get there!

Driver’s Notebook

Car Guy: “someone who looks at life with the car as their lens,” according to Autoweek. You can find them in their driveway, hand-washing their cars, and wearing clothing with car motifs or brands. Inevitably, most conversations with a car guy lead back to cars.

But what about the car gals? We asked Michelle Meade, co-founder of Lone Tree Cars and Coffee, what it is like to be a part of a male-dominated hobby.

“It’s not male-dominated, it’s male-populated! I love how many people we’ve met in this car world and how much community there is. There are a lot of women at Lone Tree Cars and Coffee, and we are starting to see young women, which is exciting.”

More and more, women and couples are engaging with this hobby. Michelle and her husband, Sean, are very involved in the local car scene. In addition to organizing and attending Cars and Coffee, you can frequently find them at Porsche enthusiast weekend breakfasts and The Vault in Parker, just to name a few.

Lone Tree Cars and Coffee began during COVID, with the intent on rebuilding the community. About 350 cars and their people showed up. Now you find them on the first Saturday of every month in front of the Rio Grande restaurant in Lone Tree.

“I love how many people we’ve met in this car world and how much community there is. There are a lot of women at Lone Tree Cars and Coffee, and we are really starting to see young women. It’s exciting.”

Styling and Design Features

The 996 body style is the fifth generation Porsche 911, produced from 1997 to 2006, and the first 911 to use a watercooled engine. The 996 was also the first 911 to feature a redesigned front end with the iconic “fried egg” headlights. Turbos feature a wide body with distinctive air intakes. And like all 911s, the engine is in the rear, while the trunk, or boot, is in the front.

The Cabriolet is a full open-air convertible, highly desired by Porsche owners. Both the convertible top and back wing can be lowered and raised with a press of a button. This car’s interior also has a custom door-jamb wrap in their family tartan blue plaid, something Porsche owners do to personalize their vehicle. It blends performance with classic Porsche aesthetics, creating a desirable blend of style and engineering.

Customization

This was a 25th wedding anniversary gift from Sean to Michelle in 2018. In addition to a custom jamb wrap, Sean further customized Michelle’s 911 to include a small matching plaque to signify this special occasion. The 2004 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet is often described as a Porsche aficionado’s Porsche, so it is a truly fitting gift.
