Cronic Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM is excited about the 2025 RAM 1500 truck, and it’s likely that you will be as well.
“With a V-6 twin turbo Hurricane motor, it gets 5-10 more miles per gallon than the older models with Hemi engines – but with more horsepower and torque,” said Cronic General Manager Tom Swygert. “That makes a big difference on the road, at the pump and in your wallet.”
With new technology and new towing capability, it combines a rugged exterior with a luxurious interior. You can go off-road or haul a camper or trailer while traveling in style, with passengers watching their favorite television shows on the in-dash screen.
And you don’t even need a key to get in and start it up. “With the RAM digital key, you can use your Apple Watch or your iPhone to have total access,” said Swygert.
Once inside, keeping those phones charged is not a problem for the driver or passenger. The new RAM 1500 is equipped with dual wireless charging pads, which means no one is fighting over the charging cord or untangling it after digging it out from between the seats.
Five people can ride comfortably, with an optional bench seat available for the front of the cab. There are five different drive modes, which include towing and snow sport, with hands-free active driving assist.
“You can literally set your speed and at a
safe distance from the vehicles ahead with the sensors, the cameras and the radar that they have that is hooked up,” said Swygert. “It will literally just center you within the lanes and keep you driving without you having to do all that.”
At Cronic, the RAM 1500 is available in several different colors and as many as two dozen are in stock. Schedule a test drive by calling 770.227.4271. Or stop by the new Cronic Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM showroom in Griffin and check it out for yourself.
I don't have a typical child whose number one demand when going back to school shopping is, "Mom, I will NOT wear anything but Adidas," but I remember shopping with my mother every year in August for those one-of-a-kind, back-toschool pieces that would set me apart from the rest of the playing field. It was so important to only shop at the posh places, which for me, growing up northwest of Chicago meant Marshall Field's. They carried the best lines in the most beautifully merchandised setting, you'd be crazy not to shop there. Back in the '80s when I was in junior high and high school, Calvin Klein jeans were the only jeans that any girl yearned for, the gold standard. I absolutely had to have them. (for those over 50, do you remember the Brooke Shields ad and what she said?)
My mother, who was the most impractical and fun-loving mother ever, of course, took me to Marshall Field's to buy me my first pair of Calvins. I was so spoiled and I loved it. They were a dark wash, straight-leg jean that fit me like a glove. I was in heaven and living every 8th grader's dream.
But, as life would have it, I grew up, moved out of my parent's home, and got a huge reality check when I had to start buying my own clothes. Ugh. I quickly learned that the places at which I would snub my nose when I was young were the only places I could afford with my paycheck. I learned to embrace the awesome finds at TJ Maxx and JC Penney. I learned the thrill of the hunt when I happened upon a wealthy lady's barely worn Anne Klein blazer at a resale shop.
Fashion changes, but your style is yours to own, no matter the cost and depending on what you can afford. If you find a piece of clothing that makes you stand a little straighter and smile a little brighter, I urge you to spend the money and buy that pair of high-waisted, wide-leg jeans that are all the rage now. I just did exactly that at Curator (our cover feature) and I'm so excited to wear them out on date night.
We hope you love reading our Fashion Issue 2024 and are enjoying your September! Blessings,

If you tried to visit Haverty’s in Fayetteville lately, you may have come away with a new Tesla automobile instead of furniture. The innovative electric vehicle manufacturer took over, gutted, and revamped the old Haverty’s location. Tesla has been revolutionizing the automotive industry with its cutting-edge technology and one integral part of the Tesla experience is its network of Service Centers. Tesla owners can have their vehicles serviced, maintained, and repaired by certified technicians, with the newest of these service centers being the Tesla Service Center in Fayetteville.
Located just south of the Pavillion on Highway 85, the Tesla Service Center offers a range of services to ensure that Tesla owners have a seamless and enjoyable driving experience. From routine maintenance tasks such as tire rotations and brake inspections to more complex repairs and software updates, the skilled technicians at the new Service Center are equipped to handle all aspects of Tesla vehicle care.
Tesla owners can expect prompt and professional service from the moment they arrive at the center. The staff seemed knowledgeable and courteous and was ready to address any concerns or questions that customers may have about their vehicles. Whether it’s a simple inquiry about charging options or a more complex issue with the vehicle’s performance, Tesla owners can rely on the expertise of the service center staff to assist.
My daughter, Abby, and I recently visited the new Service Center and took a quick test drive in a new Tesla Model Y. Before we even entered the building, a sandwich board advertisement offered us a QR code to select the vehicle we wanted to drive. After a few minutes, our car was brought around and we were given a quick tutorial about the controls and driving characteristics. There was no pressure to buy and the Tesla associate sent us down the road all by ourselves to drive their new car!
The first thing we noticed about the car was the regenerative braking. As soon as you let off the gas pedal, the car slows... radically... at least compared to the gas-powered cars we’re used to. It had great acceleration and was as quiet as a box fan... on low. One cool feature was on the huge screen in the center stack that showed your car’s location on a 3D map. The car even has an audible ding to let you know when the traffic light turned from red to green. The technology was impressive.
We enjoyed the drive and the facilities are state-of-the-art. You could literally eat off the floor it was so clean. The one thing that we were disappointed by was our inability to find someone who could/would talk with us about this story. We were curious how they came to choose a former furniture store in little ole Fayette County as a location, but based on the number of cars in the parking lot, it was a sound decision.
Hang up the old way and try a gallery wall hanging system in your home.
One of my happy places is sitting in front of a museum wall gallery. I can admire art for hours, and if I’m with a friend, there’s no telling how long we’ll sit, reflect, and share our individual perspectives. If you’ve admired gallery wall displays in magazines, catalogs, or on social media and would like to create one in your home, it’s much easier than you might think.
The beauty of a gallery wall hanging system lies in its flexibility and ease of use. Traditional picture hanging methods can leave walls full of holes, making it cumbersome to adjust placements or update the display. A hanging system, however, allows for easy adjustments without additional damage to your walls. This feature is particularly advantageous for renters or anyone who likes to refresh their decor frequently.
The first step in creating a gallery wall is planning. Start by selecting a theme or color scheme that complements your space. Themes can be as varied as black-and-white photographs, abstract paintings, or a mix of personal and artistic prints.
MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED:
• A gallery wall hanging system, which typically includes mounting rails, cables or rods, and hooks. You can find them pretty much anywhere, online or at your local home improvement store.
• A collection of frames and artwork.
• A level, measuring tape, and perhaps a laser pointer for precision.
• The arrangement of your gallery wall can follow several patterns, depending on your taste:
• Linear: Artworks are hung in a straight line at eye level, creating a clean and orderly appearance.
• Grid: Perfect for a collection of similarly sized frames, this layout emphasizes structure and uniformity.
• Salon Style: This more traditional arrangement involves layering pieces closely together, often extending across the wall. It’s ideal for creating a rich, filled look. Enjoy curating a space that is uniquely yours, evolving with your tastes and lifestyle.

“The beauty of a
gallery wall hanging system lies in its flexibility and ease of use. Traditional picture hanging methods can leave walls full of holes, making it cumbersome to adjust placements or update the display.”
Installation Tips: 1. Measure
Your Space:
Carefully measure the wall space where you want to install the gallery. Consider the height and width available, keeping in mind furniture and other room features.
2. Lay It Out:
Arrange your artwork on the floor to finalize your layout. This "dry run" is crucial to get a feel for how the pieces will interact with one another. I like to use painter’s tape to create a visual of what my display will look like on the walls.
3. Install the Rails and Hang Your Art:
Following the manufacturer’s instructions, mount the rails at the top of your wall. Ensure they are level and securely attached. Attach cables or rods to the rails, then use hooks to hang your frames. The beauty of the system is that you can adjust the height and position of each piece easily.
4. Balance and Symmetry:
Step back to view your layout from different angles. Adjust the spacing and alignment as needed to achieve visual balance.

Rodolfo Castro exemplifies what it means to transform a passion into a career. The son of a civil engineer and an interior designer, he has been immersed in the world of home creation since birth. “My first memory is walking a job site with my dad,” Castro said, a core memory that ultimately led to his desire to enter into the industry as well. “I needed something more creative than the engineering side, but my mind does not really work in color and furniture, so I needed to do something in between,” he said. “I’ve always loved thinking about spaces and details, not necessarily saying what color a wall should be.” As a result, Castro became a residential home designer whose name and reputation continues to grow.
Little did he know the extent to which his name would spread, though. After leaving his job at a different design firm, Castro started his own firm in a home office doing two to three projects a year in the metro Atlanta area. The economy crashed shortly afterward, but he did not lose faith in his passion. Now, he has an office located off of Paces Ferry with a team who “knows what I’m thinking without me even having to say it” and undertakes dozens and dozens of projects all over the country, stretching from the Southeast to Idaho, each year. “Doing this every day is a giant blessing,” Castro said. “Getting to do something you love beyond simply not minding being here.”
Drawing inspiration from everywhere, whether traditional homes in Georgia or modern residences in Europe, Castro’s designs vary greatly per client. While many elements of the home have to do with its surroundings, such as the styles of other nearby houses, each design is specifically tailored to the client’s wants and needs. Castro intently listens to his clients, working with them to develop their desires, and strives to create
something new and original for them. Through clients sharing picture representations and telling him what they want, Castro is able to piece together a pattern that inspires him to design what no one has done before. With a need to do something different and interesting in each design, Castro thinks of something unique for each client and crafts what “is not a home for everybody, but for the ones who really get it.”
While every home design differs, a common theme persists amongst them. In his designs, Castro emphasizes open and light-filled spaces. “I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I’m claustrophobic, so I like to make things airy,” Castro said. “I grew up in Costa Rica when there was an energy shortage. I was scared of being stuck in a closet with no windows and no light.” Some homes are very traditional while others are ultra-modern, but the majority of his designs lie somewhere in between. “It’s all about finding a balance of what a home feels like to [the clients],” Castro said. No matter which way they lean, his designs are cleaner, lighter, and light-filled with a hint of restraint. One client said, “Our house was underdone in the best possible way.”
In the beginning, Castro’s typical clients were people who were building their first homes. “I really loved it because I got to educate them about what the next few years were going to be like and walk them through the process step by step,” he said. Now, clients are returning to build their second, forever home, which allows him to focus less on the process and more on the details, details which can be a little more out of the box than before. Castro says that the return of clients “is a giant compliment. Especially since many end up being friends, and it is great to work with friends again.” One client said, “Working with Rodolfo is such a joy. He consistently gives excellent ideas and demonstrates remarkable talent.”
Regarding his contributions in Fayette County, Castro designed a home in the Town of Trilith in 2022, and so many fell in love with that home, he has since designed another and has eight more in development within the town.
Castro struggles to determine which project is his favorite. “I have a different favorite one every day, or sometimes multiple ones in a day,” he said. “I spend so much time thinking about them and creating them and putting special things into them that they are all favorites.”

WHAT STARTED WITH AN ANGEL TREE TAG TURNED INTO AN ORGANIZATION THAT IMPACTS LIVES EVERYDAY.
“...
It all started during Christmas in 2013 when Karhma Novak pulled an angel tree tag from her church. She and her husband, Anthony, along with their children went out, purchased presents for the young girl listed on the tag, and brought the presents back to the church for them to deliver.
use for storage. “We had no clue what we were doing. I had no idea about non-profit work. But God started this thing, and it just grew legs.” In 2015, Novak’s small yet blossoming organization merged with another to create the I-58 Mission.

Little did they expect the pastor to hand them an address to deliver the presents themselves. The address was only a couple of miles down the road from there, and when the Novak family arrived, they were horrified. There was no running water in the bathtub, dirt plagued the floor, and the windows were made of plastic. “This is not okay,” Anthony said. Immediately, the Novak family launched into action. They started reaching out to people in the community to help, and soon enough, everyone in Senoia had her phone number and started donating appliances and more to assist in her endeavors. With an overflowing garage, the HOA claimed she was running a business and had to empty her garage in ten days. Unsure of what to do, Karhma was amazed when two local pastors reached out to offer bigger rooms in their church she could
which the mission was named, essentially describes a scenario where the prophet Isaiah tells people they are not doing what God called them to do and dictates what they are actually called to do. Karhma’s intentions are more than just to help people, though. She aims to love on them; to esteem them. One gentleman entered the former church, which now houses the mission’s headquarters, and said he was absolutely shocked at the level of dignity offered through all the little touches. “That’s our goal,” Karhma said. “To esteem people. To feel that dignity.” On the same afternoon, a lady was shopping in their food section and overheard the gentleman. She said in response, “And if you don’t got it when you come, you got it when you leave.”

come together for devotion. Even more so, all volunteers stop, sit, and collectively do devotion together with them. Karhma said, “Everyone coming together for devotion, hearing everyone’s voices come together feels like Kingdom on Earth.” Anthony remarked, “The good is just the donkey that Jesus rides in on.”
The mission’s headquarters is organized into different sections: food, home goods, clothes, and esteemed goods. With food ranging from frozen to fresh, home goods including everything from microwaves to decor, clothes for all ages, and esteemed goods such as birthday gifts and back-to-school goodies, I-58 continues to impact all who walk through its doors with the simple intent to love on people.

Shelly Brown, owner of Curator in Trilith, shares her story.
ARTICLE BY JENNIFER CONFORTI
One foot in Curator and I was hooked. The easy-wear, comfortable, and well-made pieces made this retail experience hunter more satisfied at every slide of the hanger. The denim “bar” alone made me giddy. I tried on different styles and fits in the store and walked out with my new pair, cheerfully knowing I didn't have to send my purchase back like I do almost every time I order something online.
With her mom and her Delta pilot dad, Shelly Brown moved to Fayetteville in 1986. A Fayette County native, Shelly remarked, “I went to everything Fayette. Hood Avenue, Fayette Elementary, Fayette Middle, and Fayette County High.” The glint in her eye as she spoke of Fayette County told me clearly that she loves her community.
Her love for style inspired her degree in fashion design after which she worked for a digital marketing agency and did makeup at Lenox. She got married, started having children, and in 2010, moved back to Fayette to raise a family.
In 2018, Shelly moved to the Town at Trilith. “This land was my 4th grade teacher’s farm and we used to take field trips here. I remember standing in a field with a brown sack lunch – I may have stood where my living room is!” Shelly always thought, “Someone is going to open a really great [clothing] store here one day. But after thinking about it I felt, ‘Why not me?'”
With her finger on the pulse of style in Atlanta, Shelly felt that there were limited resources on the south side and had friends who had to go to the city to find what they were looking for. Curator focuses on how people dress in Fayette. Shelly carries items based on what she likes and who her customers are. “Getting dressed is something we do every single day. I want my customers to look nice and not have to think about what they are wearing. It should be easy to decide what to wear in the morning.”
Shelly is bringing high-quality, timeless fashion to Fayette, exactly what she set out to do. You can see her looks online at www.curator.shop but why would you when Trilith is a short ride? Do your wardrobe a solid and go.
