Here’s to Style

I hope this letter finds you inspired and ready to embrace the beauty of self-expression!

Style is such an extraordinary part of life—it’s far more than the clothes we wear or the accessories we choose. Style is woven into every detail of our existence, from the way we decorate our homes to the art and music we enjoy, the books we read, and even how we interact with the world around us. It’s the unique thread that creates the tapestry of who we are.

What makes style so captivating is its deeply personal nature. It evolves alongside us as we explore new interests, embrace our quirks, and express what we value most. It’s a language without words, a powerful tool for connection that can bridge differences and spark shared understanding.

Here in Chandler, we’re fortunate to have endless opportunities to celebrate and explore style. Whether it’s through visiting local boutiques, exploring a stylish new restaurant, or simply drawing inspiration from our city’s vibrant culture, there’s so much to ignite your creativity and lift your spirit.

This month, I encourage you to think of style as an authentic expression of yourself. The most beautiful style is one that reflects who you truly are—your passions, your story, your individuality. And the incredible thing is that no one else in the world can replicate that.

So go ahead, celebrate your unique style. Whether you’re exploring new trends, blending classic elements, or creating something entirely original, let this issue inspire you to embrace the power of self-expression.

Here’s to being unapologetically and uniquely you!

Yours,

MICHELLE

OAKWOOD HILLS DREAM

An Incredible Renovation in Chandler’s Coveted Community
HOME
ARTICLE BY KIM STOEGBAUER | PHOTOGRAPHY BY ELIZABETH LAWLOR AND DAN WEBB
Kim Stoegbauer

Behind the gates of Oakwood Hills, Chandler’s most exclusive neighborhood, sits a recently remodeled estate at 5 E. Oakwood Hills Drive. This stunning single-level home is the result of a comprehensive renovation led by local design expert and real estate broker Kim Stoegbauer, founder of The TomKat Studio and TomKat Real Estate.

Originally built with grand scale and a highly desirable floorplan, the home offered over 6,000 square feet of potential. When Kim and her husband, Dan, purchased the property, they saw it as more than just a place to live—it was an opportunity to bring their design vision to life in a subdivision they had long admired. The result is a timeless yet trend-forward residence that marries luxury and comfort with impeccable TomKat style.

Every inch of the home was thoughtfully remodeled to reflect a light and bright modern aesthetic with neutral tones. The flooring was replaced throughout with wide plank engineered hardwood, adding visual continuity and elevated style. New paint, trimwork, lighting, plumbing, and hardware were added to create a cohesive, refreshed style. Layout changes were made to improve functionality and flow. The formal dining room was enclosed and transformed into a private home office, with incredible views of both the backyard and lake in front of the home.

The heart of the home, the kitchen, underwent a beautiful transformation. The dated, rounded soffit was removed to open up the space and allow for additional cabinetry to be added. The kitchen layout was redesigned to accommodate two spacious islands—one for prep, the other for casual dining. One of the home’s fun features is the hidden walk-in pantry, cleverly concealed behind custom cabinetry for a seamless look. Inside, it offers a great prep space complete with a microwave, secondary refrigerator, coffee bar, and ample storage for food and kitchen essentials—making it as functional as it is beautiful.

ONE OF THE HOME’S FUN FEATURES IS THE HIDDEN WALK-IN PANTRY, CLEVERLY CONCEALED BEHIND CUSTOM CABINETRY FOR A SEAMLESS LOOK.

The primary suite was also redesigned to provide a true retreat. With a spacious sitting area, serene views of the beautiful backyard, and a neutral palette of textures and organic tones, the space exudes calm. The ensuite bathrooms (his and hers!) are connected by a luxurious walk-in closet.

The renovation extended beyond the interior. Outdoors, the entire backyard was remodeled for year-round enjoyment. Modern porcelain pavers now frame the resurfaced pool and spa, and a sleek new pergola offers a shaded lounge space complete with a built-in fireplace and TV. A redesigned outdoor kitchen and bar area make the space ideal for entertaining.

Another focal point of the outdoor living area is a second huge modern pergola that creates a comfortable, shaded lounge space—complete with a built-in gas fireplace, mounted TV, and lounge seating perfect for relaxing or entertaining. Nearby, the fully redesigned outdoor kitchen and bar area features a built-in grill, beverage fridge, and bar seating, making it easy to host social gatherings. Set on a sprawling 1.3-acre lot, the backyard also includes two pickleball courts, a half basketball court, and expansive turf and grass areas that provide space for both recreation and relaxation. New landscaping and lighting enhance the property’s beauty and ambiance in the evening hours. Functionality was just as important as design in this renovation. The home includes a spacious four-car garage for car enthusiasts or growing families, a circular driveway that

adds ease of access, and ample parking for guests, making the property ideal for entertaining and everyday living. Additionally, the expansive lot offers a rare opportunity to build further, with ample room for future structures such as a guest house, pool cabana, or detached office or gym.

Though the intention was originally to stay awhile, the Stoegbauer family made the decision to list the home after their youngest graduated and prepared to head off to college. With changing family dynamics and new opportunities on the horizon, the timing feels right to pass the keys to another family ready to make memories in Oakwood Hills.

The home was professionally staged and styled by The TomKat Studio, the design firm Kim founded and leads. From furniture to art and accessories, each room was curated to showcase the home’s unique features and to help buyers envision life in the space.

Oakwood Hills is one of the most sought-after communities in the East Valley. With just 32 custom estates nestled behind private gates, it offers exclusivity, tranquility, and unmatched natural beauty. Lush green landscapes, palm-lined streets, and a tranquil central lake create a serene backdrop for some of Chandler’s most impressive properties.

The home at 5 E. Oakwood Hills Drive stands out even among this elite collection, thanks to its single-level layout, beautiful updates, and designer touches.

At its core, this project was more than a renovation. It was a family home, lovingly transformed with intention, style, and heart. While the chapter is closing for its current owners, the home is ready for new memories and a new future. For those seeking a refined residence in one of Arizona’s premier neighborhoods, this Oakwood Hills estate offers a rare opportunity to live beautifully—both inside and out.

SOPHISTICATED ESCAPE

Warren’s Supper Club Offers Incredible Food in a Stylish Setting

Diners who are looking for a delicious meal served in a plush and intimate setting need look no further than Warren’s Supper Club in Chandler.

The restaurant, which opened in early June at 1040 N. 54th. St., is owned by Larry “Warren” and Rasheedah White.

The couple are the founders of LWR Concepts, which brought Lo-Lo’s Chicken & Waffles, Brunch & Sip, and Monroe’s Hot Chicken to the Valley.

As General Manager Armando Meza notes, from romantic date nights and birthday celebrations to wedding anniversaries and special occasions of all kinds, Warren’s Supper Club is the perfect place for an outstanding meal.

“We consider ourselves to be a Creole chophouse,” Meza says, adding that Warren’s Supper Club features an open woodfire grill and custom-built smoker that are used to prepare dishes like grilled charbroiled oysters, grilled tomahawk, ribeye and filet mignon, and king crab legs. “We smoke our baby back ribs, pork chops, chicken, and pork belly in our smoker for four-and-a-half hours and finish them off on the open fire. We use three types of wood—hickory, post oak, and almond—to create rich, smoky, savory flavors, and we use only the finest purveyors in town.”

In addition to its memorable menu, Warren’s Supper Club offers a carefully curated stylish design that helps transport diners to another era. From the red velvet drapes, gas lanterns, and dark blue and red booths to the black and gold flooring tile, gold tile ceilings, dim lighting, and custom-built band stage, the eatery offers a dark and rich ambiance.

“We also have black-and-white portraits of famous artists like Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Marilyn Monroe, and Louis Armstrong, among many other greats on our walls,” Meza says. “Our snug booths are perfect for small groups. We truly are a sophisticated escape for adults.”

While families are also welcome to come in and dine at Warren’s Supper Club, Meza notes that the eatery does not have highchairs or booster seats.

For people who are looking for a venue for a private event—for instance a corporate gathering, special celebration, or intimate social event, Meza says Warren’s Supper Club’s versatile spaces and exceptional service will help make any event unforgettable.

In the short time that Warren’s Supper Club has been open, Meza says they have already received many highly favorable reviews from satisfied diners.

“We have been very blessed to receive positive feedback on both our food and service. We are very excited to be part of the Chandler community!”

LIVING STYLE in

THE INTERSECTION OF FASHION AND HOME

INthis unexpected love affair, fashion and interiors are more than just a simple pairing—they are rooted in culture, creativity, and the human desire for self-expression.

As conscious consumers of the 21st century, participating in a retail landscape that is oversaturated and struggling to adapt to the ever-changing demands of the modern customer, our purchasing power should not only respond to a feeling of want but also prioritize items that reflect who we are and who we aspire to be. This is clearly visible through the representation of fashion and interiors.

Although we tend to consider cost-per-wear primarily when it comes to clothing, this same

principle applies to furniture and the function it brings to the home. Aesthetics and functionality both play a role in this pairing, painting a picture for the rest of the world of who the wearer is and how they live in their space.

The woman who wears a blazer with sharp shoulders that makes her feel powerful in her everyday life—or the black dress that gives her a necessary boost of confidence—may naturally gravitate toward sleek, modern furniture that feels equally strong and elevates the space where the modern woman thrives.

In the same way, someone who prefers an effortless ensemble—like their favorite white T-shirt and comfortable denim

jeans—may also look for home pieces that are functional and make their guests feel at ease. Even a handmade rug, one that sparks conversation about where it was found and adds a focal point to a room, mirrors how we search our closets for a sweater tied to a cherished memory.

Just as we carefully choose outfits to express ourselves, it’s equally important to ensure that our living spaces are designed with the same intention. More than ever, modern buyers are making purchasing decisions based on personal morals and values, forming a new wave of consumers who seek products that are both high-quality and environmentally or socially conscious, whether for themselves or their homes.

The following imagery affirms that living a timeless lifestyle across all aspects of life is possible through the thoughtful styling of sustainable clothing and vintage furniture. As the modern retail landscape continues to evolve, it’s become increasingly vital to make conscious consumer choices—ones that allow us to express our truest selves through both our wardrobes and the places we call home.

The 5 Must-Know Fashion Trends of Fall 2025

From Runway to Real Life

ARTICLE BY STEPHANIE HARVEY PHOTOGRAPHY BY LINDSAY BORG

From sheer layers to polarizing hues, the fashion world has eagerly awaited the return of fall style. Over the last several years, fashion lovers embraced more practical styles in earthy tones that broadly became known as “quiet luxury.” While I don’t see those trends dissipating completely, the trends surfacing for fall 2025 aren’t exactly what most would consider “quiet.”

While the emergence of new trends every season is always interesting, in my opinion, it’s really just a way to refine your own personal style. The goal isn’t to replace your current wardrobe with everything you see on the runway or that’s featured in a fashion magazine. The goal is to incorporate rising trends into your current wardrobe in hopes of finding a few new style choices that elevate your current aesthetic.

While minimalist dressing and capsule collections have been heavily publicized over the last few seasons, it’s clear that there is a desire for something a bit bolder. After visiting local shop Boutique on Boston and speaking with owner Denise McCreery, I was assured that the world of fashion is moving in a different direction this fall—and I couldn’t be more excited.

Let’s break down a few of the trends you can expect to see in local boutiques and department stores in the coming months.

TAILORING

Power suiting isn’t new to the fashion landscape, especially over the last couple of years, but the way it’s worn in 2025 is a bit more refined. Last year, we saw more oversized suiting, but this fall is all about a more fitted silhouette. McCreery, who is committed to helping women feel their best, believes that power dressing can do wonders for a women’s psyche. In fact, she encourages women to wear the suit always—even on a random Tuesday. The right suit with the right tailoring can elevate your entire personality.

rising trends into

your

current wardrobe in hopes of finding a few new style choices that elevate your current aesthetic.

SHEER LAYERS

“Naked dressing” has become increasingly popular with the resurgence of boho chic, but not everyone is comfortable with their private undergarments on display. That being said, there is a more conservative way to incorporate sheer layers and accessories into your look. Whether it’s a translucent overlay, chiffon sleeves, or a mesh tote, where there’s a will, there’s a way. At Boutique on Boston, I came across a beautiful black jacket with sheer sleeves and dark florals that captures this new trend perfectly. McCreery chose this jacket herself and it’s truly “sheer” perfection.

FAUX FUR

Faux fur has been on the outskirts of the most talked about trends for the last several years, but it had its resurgence on 2025 runways. When we think of faux fur, we typically think of the traditional, long, fur coat. Think Samantha from Sex in the City. But now we see it showing up in more contemporary ways like faux fur collars and small tote bags. We’ll even see faux fur footwear styles emerge in the coming months. I love a trend that can be embraced in a variety of ways, and faux fur definitely hits the mark.

JEWEL TONES

Fashion is a language and it’s one of the ways we can share the story of who we are with the world.

BELTS

We often hear that eyebrows can serve as the anchor for the face when it comes to beauty and the same can be said for belts in regard to fashion. Incorporating belts isn’t a new trend, but it’s certainly a big one for 2025. Belts are truly the easiest way to elevate a look. This year, we’re seeing statement belts worn over loose knit dresses, mid-length jackets, and on a low-rise pant. In fact, we’re even seeing multiple belts layered on top of one another. Belts are officially back, and I think they’re here to stay.

Jewel tones are perfect for fall, and they typically pair well with another color we’ve seen dominate the runways: brown. The jewel tone that’s headlining the year is purple, and it’s making a statement. Some are saying purple is the new pink, and although I love a pink knit, there’s something bold, romantic, and powerful about this aubergine hue. Expect to see it as a velvet suit jacket or a long wool coat. McCreery recommends pairing the color with metallic accessories to make it pop more for a night out with the girls. It’s safe to say the deep shades of purple will be a popular option this season.

As we’ve seen in preparation for fall, fashion is calling for louder, bolder, and more vibrant style choices, allowing women (and men) to experiment. My advice? Step out of your comfort zone, explore local boutiques like Boutique on Boston, and find pieces that stand out. Fashion is a language and it’s one of the ways we can share the story of who we are with the world.

CHANDLER PRODUCTION COMPANY CREATES AND PRODUCES NEW FILM

FORTIS FEMINA IS OPENING SOON IN LIMITED THEATERS

This month, a new film is coming to local theaters that may cause moviegoers to think, “Hey, those locations look familiar!”

Fortis Femina , which is based on a true story, follows a group of seven women who are on a life-altering retreat in Sedona.

“Each woman carries personal struggles and hidden truths, and as they open up to one another, they experience a profound transformation,” says Mitesh Patel, CEO of Applied Art Productions, LLC, the Chandler production company that created and produced the film.

As Patel notes, the film, which is set against the gorgeous desert  landscape in Sedona, explores themes of healing, vulnerability, and empowerment.

“Through authenticity and sisterhood, they rediscover their inner strength and form unbreakable bonds that change their lives forever,” he says.

The film will open in limited theaters on Sept. 5, with local showings in Chandler, Tempe, and Sedona, and around 20 major cities across the country.

About 95% of the scenes were shot in Sedona, Patel notes. The rest were filmed in Mesa.

“Viewers will recognize stunning locations in Sedona such as Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, and Red Rock Crossing, which all serve as visually powerful backdrops to the emotional journey of the characters,” Patel says.

The entire post-production process took place in Chandler, at the Applied Art Productions office.

Patel, who is also president of American Film Convention, founder of the Chandler International Film Festival, and a member of the Producers Guild of America, says he and the entire team at Applied Art Productions are looking forward to the launch of Fortis Femina in theaters.

“All of our lead actors, along with several extras, are local to Arizona. This film was truly a community-driven project, showcasing incredible local talent both in front of and behind the camera,” Patel says.

OLD WALL, NEW TRICKS

HANG UP THE OLD WAY AND TRY A GALLERY WALL HANGING SYSTEM IN YOUR HOME.

One of my happy places is sitting in front of a museum wall gallery. I can admire art for hours, and if I’m with a friend, there’s no telling how long we’ll sit, reflect, and share our individual perspectives. If you’ve admired gallery wall displays in magazines, catalogs, or on social media and would like to create one in your home, it’s much easier than you might think.

DESIGNING YOUR GALLERY WALL

The first step in creating a gallery wall is planning. Start by selecting a theme or color scheme that complements your space. Themes can be as varied as black-and-white photographs, abstract paintings, or a mix of personal and artistic prints.

MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED:

• A gallery wall hanging system, which typically includes mounting rails, cables or rods, and hooks. You can find them pretty much anywhere, online or at your local home improvement store.

• A collection of frames and artwork.

• A level, measuring tape, and perhaps a laser pointer for precision.

CREATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

• The arrangement of your gallery wall can follow several patterns, depending on your taste:

• Linear: Artworks are hung in a straight line at eye level, creating a clean and orderly appearance.

• Grid: Perfect for a collection of similarly sized frames, this layout emphasizes structure and uniformity.

• Salon Style: This more traditional arrangement involves layering pieces closely together, often extending across the wall. It’s ideal for creating a rich, filled look.

INSTALLATION TIPS:

01 MEASURE YOUR SPACE:

Carefully measure the wall space where you want to install the gallery. Consider the height and width available, keeping in mind furniture and other room features.

02 LAY IT OUT:

Arrange your artwork on the floor to finalize your layout. This “dry run” is crucial to get a feel for how the pieces will interact with one another. I like to use painter’s tape to create a visual of what my display will look like on the walls.

03 INSTALL THE RAILS AND HANG YOUR ART:

Following the manufacturer’s instructions, mount the rails at the top of your wall. Ensure they are level and securely attached. Attach cables or rods to the rails, then use hooks to hang your frames. The beauty of the system is that you can adjust the height and position easily.

04 BALANCE AND SYMMETRY:

Step back to view your layout from different angles. Adjust the spacing and alignment as needed to achieve visual balance.
