In this season of gratitude, we often find ourselves reflecting on the many blessings in our lives. Thanksgiving encourages us to slow down, embrace the present, and appreciate the people and moments that bring us joy.
This month, I’ve been especially grateful for the small, everyday moments that make life beautiful: the laughter of loved ones, quiet mornings with a cup of coffee, and the chance to be part of such a vibrant community here in Celina.

Our November issue is dedicated to stories of gathering, giving back, and celebrating the people and organizations that make Celina such a special place. We’re endlessly thankful for our advertising partners, whose support allows us to bring inspiring stories to your doorstep each month, and for the readers who make it all worthwhile.
As we prepare to gather with loved ones, let’s take a moment to reflect on what truly brings meaning to our lives. This holiday season, may we find contentment not in possessions or accolades but in the connections we nurture and the good we do for others.
Wishing you and your family a season of gratitude and grace,

As an acronym, it stands for Together Everyone Achieves More
I started a real estate team because I wanted to create a group with various gifts to ensure that we could provide the best in class real estate service to our clients. I also wanted agents with experience in different areas of the metroplex so we could properly educate our buyers and sellers with the necessary knowledge to be the best choice in their neighborhoods. Both objectives were met, but there was a bonus waiting for us all which shouldn’t have been such a surprise to me. I say this because I had a front row seat in Celina to witness the very same thing as my sons participated in various extra-curricular activities led by very talented coaches and educators. I learned from them by example as I watched my own children experience first hand the power of a team and what occurs when you commit to one another to accomplish a goal.
For me, the best and most rewarding part of working together is a combination of the support we provide to one another and the friendships that have blossomed. The collaboration is a gift every day and something that benefits our clients as we strategize together in an ever changing market to help our clients win... every time. In addition we have watched our real estate family grow with our clients being an extension of it. It’s easy to see why we love what we do when I look at what has materialized through hard work and sharing our expertise. The results in Celina alone are reflected on the next page. Some homes have been sold multiple times as shown on the dates posted. We are a mighty team of 10 with lots of wisdom, heart, and grit to help you navigate your real estate journey.

At Snellings Law, we’re proud to be a personal injury firm that serves North Texas in and out of the courtroom. Whether fighting for injured clients or giving back through local projects, we’re grateful for the chance to stand with our neighbors.

The Wick Gives Back To The Community They Are Thankful For

It has been just over a year since Kim and her husband, Cleve Wickliffe, opened The Wick on Colorado Street in Celina. In that time, their love and commitment to the community have grown, as they work to give back to the community that has given them so much. The Wick has become a vibrant hub bringing the community together and fostering a sense of belonging.
Kim and Cleve started their business by hosting pop-up stores with Annie Jack Boutique, as well as participating in Friday Night Markets and events on the square, all the while searching for and finding the perfect location to establish their passion project, The Wick. If you are driving through town, don't miss this cute little black house with the most inviting front porch.

After living in Frisco for more than 20 years, they realized they knew maybe two of their neighbors. They wanted to live somewhere they knew their neighbors and could invest themselves in the community. Kim has long been a volunteer for Susan G.
Komen Race for the Cure and United Way campaigns through her corporate career, but volunteering and giving back in Celina feels more personal.
Kim is a member of the Celina Downtown Commission. This organization supports the city

council and gives back to, as well as encourages, the growth of businesses on the square. Their mission is to raise money and help with the events and activities on the downtown square.
One of Kim's favorite projects has been to refresh and update the Christmas lights in downtown and host discounted carriage rides around the neighboring areas.
Kim is also a member of the Celina Chamber organization, Celina Ladies of Influence (CLOI),
which hosts events such as the annual Style Show to raise funds for scholarships for students of Celina ISD.
Each month, The Wick hosts "Bingo, Burros and Bites" on the third Thursday. Forty tickets are sold each month, and the proceeds support Donkey and Equine Haven USA.
Cleve and Kim have been sponsors of the Celina High School Football team, the Las Gatitas dance team, the Celina Bobcat Band,
“CELINA IS OUR HOME & THE HOME OF THE WICK. WE ARE DEEPLY ROOTED IN THE COMMUNITY AND COULD NOT IMAGINE A BETTER PLACE! DON’T FORGET OUR
ALL-DAY
BRUNCH ON SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS! OUR INNOVATIVE TWISTS ON CLASSIC DISHES PROMISE A UNIQUE AND EXCITING DINING EXPERIENCE FOR ALL OUR PATRONS.”

and numerous organizations that support the district's schools. Their generous support is a testament to their commitment to local education. They were the first business to sign up for the Celina ISD employee perks program, offering a 15% discount to district teachers and staff.
With the holidays quickly coming, The Wick sponsors the Hot Cocoa Bar at the local Toys for Tots campaign. The Wick is also the hospitality hub for the Holiday Gift Tour, a fundraiser that supports local charities. It is hard to attend an event in Celina that you do not see Kim and Cleve actively involved. They live locally, shop locally, and serve locally, encouraging all Celina citizens to do the same.
This month and next, remember to come to The Wick to celebrate your holidays. Of course, they will continue Bingo, Burros, and Bites monthly, as well as the monthly Mahjong tournament, which will run in both November and December. You can also look forward to their second annual Character Breakfast with Mickey and Minnie, and join them afterward for a Hot Cocoa Bar in celebration of National Hot Chocolate Day on Saturday, December 13th. And don't forget to support their business on Small Business Saturday, November 29th.
Kim shared, "Celina is our home & the home of The Wick. We are deeply rooted in the community and could not imagine a better place! Don't forget our all-day brunch on Saturdays and Sundays! Our innovative twists on classic dishes promise a unique and exciting dining experience for all our patrons." And new this year, shortcut your holiday cooking by ordering sides for your holiday meals and their classic cinnamon rolls for that special breakfast.

Feed The City began in Dallas, Texas in 2015, after setting a Guinness World Record for the Most People Making Sandwiches Simultaneously, and then became a monthly event where volunteers of all ages come together to fight hunger.
Each Saturday provides volunteers the opportunity to gather at a local venue to work together to pack meals for those in need. Since its launch, over 1,900 events across five countries, eighteen states, and 73 cities have welcomed 100,000 volunteers, providing more than 7.6 MILLION meals.
Feed the City Celina was founded in 2023 by Nick Marino, Jr., and Ashley Denk and is now facilitated by Chelle Cates. The group meets on the second Saturday of each month at Rollertown Beerworks in Celina’s Entertainment District and assembles the supplies volunteers provide to create a meal consisting of a sandwich, chips, and fruit. Regular volunteer groups like Young Men’s Service League and National Charity League contribute to the 1,000 meals made per month that are distributed to Grace Bridge Food Bank and Denton’s Freedom House.
Feed the City events are supported by families, friends, schools, and organizations with the goal of creating hope, one meal at a time. Volunteers of all ages can make an impact by joining Chelle and her team at an in-person event or packing snacks at home and dropping them off for distribution. Sandwiches are made on-site, while snack bags containing water, fruit, a protein, and a granola bar can be assembled at home. Each on-site volunteer is asked to bring enough supplies for 25-30 meals.
Feed the City's monthly events take an active role in the fight against hunger and make a tangible impact in the Celina community. To register as a volunteer, drop off supplies or snack bags, make a financial donation, or for more information, visit tangocharities.org/feed-the-city-celina.

ARTICLE BY ROGER IRELAND PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED BY TEXOMA FC
Texoma FC, based in Sherman, Texas, kicked off its first professional season in USL League One in March 2025 at Historic Bearcat Stadium under the leadership of Sporting Director–Head Coach Adrian Forbes and President Ben Watson. As of the end of September, the club stood in a tight position in the league, as they were competing for a postseason bid.
“ “
ONE KNOX HAS GREAT DEFENSE, SO THE FACT THAT TEXOMA WAS ABLE TO GET FIVE SHOTS ON GOAL IS IMPRESSIVE.”
COACH FORBES SEEMS TO EMPHASIZE COHESION: “I’M NOW BUILDING THE SQUAD TO ACTUALLY COACH THE SQUAD AS WELL,
SOMETHING YOU’D NEVER SEE IN THE UK.
From its humble beginning as nothing more than a dream, the club faced substantial challenges at the start of the season. From immigration to even the weather, it seemed that the inaugural season was destined to be nothing more than “an opportunity to build,” as one fan put it. After suffering a string of defeats and draws at the outset of play, the team coalesced and began to operate as a unit, winning several games in a row, including handing a defeat to last season’s champion. This moment would serve as the first league win in the club's history and kickstart the team's nine game unbeaten streak through the middle of the season.
Texoma FC's defense has generally held firm, though consistency remains a work in progress. As one fan notes, “One Knox has great defense, so the fact that Texoma was able to get five shots on goal is impressive.” Coach Forbes seems to emphasize cohesion: “I’m now building the squad to actually coach the squad as well, something you’d never see in the UK,” hinting at an emphasis on tactical growth.
One of the defensive highlights of the season has been goalkeeper Javier Garcia. Despite the 27 year old joining in February of this year, he didn’t make his league debut until May. Since then, Garcia has kept numerous clean sheets, been named USL League One Player of the Month for May, and set two USL League One records for most penalty saves in a season (five) and most penalty saves in a single match (two).

Goal-scoring started slowly but has gained substantial momentum. “Our biggest challenge this year will be scoring goals. We do great things in midfield, with little or no end product,” a supporter observed. Some matches ended in clean sheets without goals—strong defense but limited finishing. However, there are early flashes of attacking flair, with some later fixtures featuring three and four goals scored.
Forward Ajmeer Spengler has scored eight goals so far this season, in the top ten goalscorers of the league. His form earned him USL League One Player of the Week honors in Week 16. Englishman Luke McCormick has set the league alight this season, contributing to seven goals this season despite only joining in May. Twenty-four year old forward
Brandon McManus is also making history for Texoma, becoming the first player in club history to score in every competition played this season (USL League One, USL Jägermeister Cup, and US Open Cup).
Early-season was riven with talk of turnover and pending arrivals: “As of the start of play, we had five players in other countries waiting on visas,” with expectations of defensive improvement upon their arrival. The coaching staff, led by Forbes, prioritized building squad cohesion before refining attacking transitions.
Adrian Forbes, transitioning from an English Premier League academy role, has both acknowledged the challenges CONTINUED >

of launching a new club and expressed optimism about its development. Pre-season, in a BBC interview, he said, “This is too good an opportunity to turn down” and expressed pride in shaping a brand-new US club. Internally, he emphasized developmental steps, focusing on a process that involves implementing a playing philosophy, establishing training routines, and integrating signings like Asante and Pepi. A strong defensive shape is evident, and although the team has struggled to convert midfield control into consistent scoring, late-season performance suggests a trend towards increased conversion.
Texoma FC’s local impact has been swift. The club has averaged nearly 1,200 fans per match (with a 1,370 average attendance across all competitions), peaking at 3,209 spectators for the opener against One Knoxville on March 22 despite low attendance in the preseason.

THEIR MESSAGE HAS BEEN CLEAR: GROWTH ON THE FIELD AND IMPACT OFF IT. THE CLUB’S SLOGAN, “UNITED FOR SOCCER,” UNDERSCORES A MISSION TO UNIFY THE TEXOMA REGION THROUGH SPORT.
Owners highlight long-term vision. CEO Jacob West stated: “Adrian’s impact on and off the pitch serves as a massive building block for the foundation we are laying here with Texoma FC.” President Ben Watson added, “Adrian resembles everything we have been interviewing for… We could not be more thrilled!” Their message has been clear: growth on the field and impact off it. The club’s slogan, “United For Soccer,” underscores a mission to unify the Texoma region through sport. The leadership team’s long-term vision includes a future purpose-built stadium, growth of the youth academy, and Texoma’s integration into the broader US soccer landscape.
Texoma FC’s inaugural USL League One campaign paints the picture of a club laying down solid roots. On the field, it's a story of resilient defense, flashes of attacking brilliance, and growing chemistry. Off-field, it’s a tale of visionaries with Forbes, West, and Watson aligning community, long-term infrastructure, and local pride. As summer gives in to autumn, Texoma faces the classic expansion-team crossroads: can they shift from character-building to consistent performance and sustained growth?
The foundation is in place. The following chapters will define whether Texoma FC becomes a competitive force and an enduring pillar in their community. Join us and be a part of something historic and fun for the whole family.

It is with great pleasure to announce the Outstanding Student Athlete of the Month as selected by the Celina Independent School District (CISD) Athletic Coaching Team. This month’s selection is senior Bella Castillo.
Bella Castillo’s love for volleyball began in 5th grade at Frisco Fieldhouse before moving into club play with the Frisco Flyers and Power Volleyball Club. Her dedication and growth as both a setter and defensive specialist eventually led her to earn a spot on Celina’s Varsity Volleyball team as a junior. That accomplishment was matched by defeating Caddo Mills in the regional finals to advance to the state tournament. Competing on that stage wasn’t just a goal fulfilled, but an unforgettable honor to represent Celina at the highest level. Her efforts awarded her 2024 District 9-4A Academic All District honors.
Her journey has not been without challenges. At the end of her freshman year, Bella tore her ACL, a setback that tested
her resilience both physically and mentally. By junior year, her hard work paid off as she secured her spot on varsity, proving that obstacles can serve as stepping stones to greater success.
Beyond the court, Bella balances her athletic commitment with leadership and academics. She serves as Historian for the National Honor Society, Vice President of DECA, a member of Student Council, FCCLA, and coaches youth volleyball at Fieldhouse.
As she closes out her senior season, Bella and her teammates share one ultimate goal: bringing home a State Championship. After high school, Bella plans to pursue a law degree at the University of Texas at Austin. Congratulations to Bella Castillo on being named the November Outstanding Student Athlete of the Month!

The holidays have a way of calling us back to what matters most—faith, family, compassion, and the quiet but powerful act of giving. As lights go up and calendars fill, there are still many who sit in silence, carrying burdens too heavy to bear alone. But what if this season, you could be the spark that changes everything for someone else?
The founders of City Lifestyle, through their private foundation, are once again launching its annual Christmas Giving Campaign—a heartfelt effort to seek out and support individuals and families who have quietly fallen through the cracks. The mission is simple: to bring light, dignity, and hope to those who need it most.
Since its beginning just four years ago, this initiative has grown from a humble idea into a life-changing movement. Last Christmas alone, more than 200 families across the country received unexpected support—financial relief, but also something even more powerful.
“We don’t just send checks,” says Steven Schowengerdt, CEO and founder of City Lifestyle. “We send a message: You are seen. You are loved. And you are not forgotten.”
Together with City Lifestyle President Matthew Perry, Steven has helped shape this into a tradition that goes far beyond charity. “This is about community,” Matthew adds. “We believe we’ve been blessed, so now we get to be a blessing.”
Every story begins with a nomination. Often, it’s a neighbor, coworker, friend, or teacher—someone who’s been quietly carrying too much for too long. One past recipient, after receiving unexpected support during a time of deep personal struggle, wrote:
SCAN TO NOMINATE

“We send a message: You are seen. You are loved. And you are not forgotten.”
“Beyond the very practical solution of receiving funds to fix my car, this thing you guys worked together to do is bigger than that. I carry the Christmas card you sent in my purse. When things get really hard, I pull it out and remember what it felt like to be seen. That card represents hope— that change for the better is possible. I’m not sure how many people get to carry hope around in their purse. But I do.”
Another wrote in after her husband was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer and unable to work:
“This support has blessed our family not only financially, but emotionally and spiritually as we trust God to meet our needs throughout this difficult time. Thank you to our anonymous friend and to your foundation. What a joy and gift to be part of God’s family!”
Each year brings countless stories like these—real lives touched by simple acts of kindness. Some use the funds to pay overdue bills, others to afford groceries, medication, or repairs. But no matter the circumstance, the impact is the same: hope is restored.
This season, you have the opportunity to be part of that. The campaign is now open to nominations—completely confidential and prayerfully considered. Whether it’s someone battling illness, facing unemployment, or just in need of a helping hand, you can bring them a moment of grace that will ripple far beyond Christmas morning.
“Knowing my mom was chosen filled my heart with indescribable joy,” said another past recipient. “Your generosity doesn’t just brighten her life; it inspires hope and faith in all of us. It enables her to stay in her home and get back on her feet.”
Nominations are open from November 1st to December 5th, 2025. To submit someone you know, simply scan the QR code or visit @CityLifestyle on Instagram, where you’ll find the nomination form in the bio.
This holiday season, let’s give more than gifts. Let’s give each other the gift of being seen. Because sometimes, the smallest gesture becomes someone’s greatest miracle.
To nominate someone in need, visit: KingdomBuildingFoundation.org or scan the QR code.

ARTICLE BY ALISON STANTON
Let’s face it: hosting Thanksgiving dinner can be stressful.
Between grocery shopping, house cleaning, cooking and baking, it’s no wonder the day devoted to giving thanks can feel a tad daunting.
Here’s some very welcome good news: whether this is your first holiday hosting rodeo or you’ve stuffed many a turkey over the years, you can knock out most of the Thanksgiving meal prep work in advance – some of it two weeks before the big day.
To make this year’s Thanksgiving meal easier and more enjoyable, consider the following timeline of tips.

2 WEEKS BEFORE
• Print out the recipes you plan to use – this will be much easier than constantly tapping your phone to prevent the screen from going dark or scrolling when your hands are covered with flour or onions.
• Using your menu and printed out recipes as a guide, compose a complete shopping list.
• Double check your supply of herbs and spices to see what you have on hand –even the ones you are pretty sure you have enough of, like salt and pepper (this tip comes from personal experience!).
• Shop for all non-perishable and frozen food items. Basically, if it doesn’t need to be stored in the fridge, or if it doesn’t have a short shelf life, it’s going in the cart.
• Plan three easy and tasty dinners for the days leading up to Thanksgiving and purchase those ingredients during your shopping trip. Or plan at least one night of takeout.

• Clean your home completely, enlisting family members to help. Then, as the big day approaches, you can touch up as needed.
• Finish your grocery shopping for fresh vegetables like potatoes, onions and carrots and other items not purchased earlier.
• Go through your fridge and toss any old, expired condiments, leftovers and mysterious food items that no one is eating. This will free up valuable real estate for your various dishes.

• Wash and chop all veggies and place the prepped produce into plastic baggies or airtight food storage containers. If some recipes call for “minced onion” and others require “chopped onion,” label the bags accordingly.
• Set the table, and include the empty serving dishes. This will help you figure out ahead of time where the larger dishes can go (and if they will all fit!) Add Post-It notes to the empty dishes to remind you what will go in what. Use a clean sheet to cover everything and keep it all dust-free until Thursday. You can also do this for a buffet.
• Gather all needed serving spoons and other serving pieces.
• Pre-measure herbs and spices for your recipes and store them in labeled small plastic bags with the name of the dish they are for and what’s in the baggies. You can also do the same for any flour, sugar or other non-perishable ingredients you’ll use in your dishes.

• Do a quick clean and tidy around the home; for instance, run the vacuum and shine up the bathrooms.
• If you haven’t already done so, bake your pies, or, at the very least, prepare your pie dough. Wrap the dough in plastic and keep it in the fridge until you’re ready to assemble and bake the pies.
• Make the mashed potatoes. Bonus tip: on Thanksgiving, put the potatoes into a slow cooker and heat them up using the “warm” setting.
• Prepare the gravy. If you have a second slow cooker, it too can be warmed up this way on Thanksgiving. This will also help free up pots, pans and burners on the stove!
• Set up a separate drink station where guests can help themselves or someone can serve them away from the kitchen. Stock it with glasses of different sizes, napkins, bottle and can openers and straws.

NUTRITION, HEALTH & MORE
PHOTOGRAPHY BY WILDER ROSE CREATIVE

Pumpkins are actually pretty amazing for our bodies in a lot of ways. They are not only delicious and versatile in cooking, but they’re also packed with nutrients that offer a variety of health benefits. Here are some of the ways pumpkins can support our health:
1. Rich in Nutrients:
Vitamin A: Pumpkins are an excellent source of beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A. This vitamin is crucial for eye health, immune function, and skin health.
Vitamin C: They also provide a good dose of vitamin C, which helps in collagen formation, boosts immunity, and helps fight free radicals.
Fiber: Pumpkins are high in fiber, which aids in digestion, helps maintain a healthy gut, and can prevent constipation.
2. Antioxidant Power:
The vibrant orange color of pumpkins comes from their high beta-carotene content, an antioxidant that fights oxidative stress and can reduce the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease and certain cancers.
3. Supports Skin Health:
Because of their vitamin A and C content, pumpkins are great for your skin. Vitamin A promotes cell regeneration and repair, and vitamin C helps with collagen production, keeping skin firm and youthful-looking.
4. Weight Management:
Since pumpkin is low in calories but high in fiber, it helps to keep you feeling full longer. This can be helpful if you’re trying to manage your weight without feeling deprived.
5. Heart Health:
The antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber in pumpkins all contribute to heart health. They can help lower blood pressure, reduce cholesterol levels, and improve blood circulation.
6. Boosts Immune System:
With high levels of vitamins A and C, pumpkins can give your immune system a boost, helping to fight off infections and illnesses.
7. Pumpkin Seeds:
Don’t forget the seeds! They’re also packed with nutrients like magnesium, zinc, and healthy fats. Pumpkin seeds can support heart health, bone health, and help regulate sleep due to their tryptophan content, a precursor to serotonin.
So, whether you’re roasting pumpkin seeds or making a creamy pumpkin soup, your body is definitely benefiting. Enjoy Pumpkin Season!

1 egg
1/3 cup evaporated milk (or half-and-half)
Whipped cream, for topping (optional)

4. Spoon filling into each crust, about 2/3 full (they’ll puff slightly as they bake).
5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the crust is golden and the filling is set.

Hearty food nourishes the body during cold winter months
What if we chose connection — cooking seasonal meals and allowing ourselves to pause to truly enjoy our food? Maybe cheesy bread could be served without the side of guilt.

As we continue to embrace the cold weather, we may find ourselves craving heavier and grounding foods as we retreat into hibernation. This change in appetite reflects our body’s desire to align with the cycles of nature. Moving into the New Year, it can be common to place more discipline or restrictions on our eating habits. But what if instead of dieting, we nourished ourselves by choosing to support the ebb and flow of our body’s seasons? What if we chose connection — cooking seasonal meals and allowing ourselves to pause to truly enjoy our food? Maybe cheesy bread could be served without the side of guilt. This Italian wedding soup recipe is simple in its approach, but the result is a hearty and brothy dish. Chunky meats and vegetables add texture to the rich, savory broth making it the ideal meal to help you retreat from the cold temperatures. The Hasselback bread loaf is a straightforward, melty wonder and the perfect vessel for sopping up any leftover broth and goodies in your soup bowl. Together, the soup and cheesy bread make for a well-rounded meal to ground you this season, with a little indulgence.

• 1 Italian bread loaf
• 1 cup butter
• 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 tsp kosher salt
• 2 tsp dried oregano
• 8 oz. bag of shredded mozzarella cheese
1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. Cut foil that is 3 times the length of the bread loaf and lay flat on countertop.
3. Place bread loaf parallel to the length of the foil.
4. With a serrated knife, cut bread in ¾ in. slices, making sure not to cut all the way through.
5. Melt butter in a bowl. Add garlic and seasonings. Stir to incorporate.
6. With a pastry brush, coat the slices of bread with butter mixture. Be generous with your butter! If you have leftover butter, pour the rest over the entire loaf.
7. Grab handfuls of mozzarella cheese and stuff in between each slice.
8. Cover the bread loaf with foil and place in oven. Bake for 20 minutes, uncovering the foil for the last 5 minutes until the top of the bread is golden brown.

4 Servings

• 1 lb. fresh or frozen pre-made meatballs
• ½ cup carrots, diced small
• ½ cup celery, diced small
• 1 cup onions, diced small
• 3 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 bay leaf
• 2 tbsp butter
• 2 tbsp cooking oil
• 48 oz low sodium chicken broth
• ½ cup orzo pasta (or any small, short noodle)
• 1 tbsp kosher salt
• 1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
• 1 tbsp fresh oregano, chopped roughly
• 1 tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley
1. Whether freshly baked or cooked from frozen, prepare your meatballs and set aside. Meatballs can be prepared ahead of time and kept in the fridge.
2. Bring a medium-sized pot to medium heat. Add oil and butter.
3. Add vegetables to the pot and sweat until onions are translucent (about 5 minutes). Stir occasionally.
4. Add the bay leaf, chicken broth, salt, and pepper to vegetables. Turn heat to medium-high.
5. Bring broth mixture to a rolling boil for five minutes. With tongs, add meatballs to the boiling broth.
6. Add orzo to the broth, stirring continuously to make sure the pasta doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan.
7. Continue to cook the pasta for 6-7 minutes. Taste test to make sure pasta is al dente.
8. Throw the fresh herbs into the soup and add salt and pepper to taste.
9. Serve immediately.

Our local events are the heart of Celina. Andy “Hop” Hopkins, owner of The UPS Store, is highlighting some of Celina’s many local events on a monthly basis.

All veterans are invited to the 10th annual Veterans Day Program hosted by Celina High School. Our service men and women are honored by the entire student body in a moving display of respect and patriotism. The event includes a breakfast celebration, a march through student-lined halls, ending with a bus tour to other campuses so all 5,300 students can show their support.
A classic Thanksgiving tradition, the Celina Turkey Trot runs through the historic streets of downtown Celina. Come join about 1000 friends and neighbors as you earn your feast with a 5K or a one-mile fun run. This year, the community itself has stepped up to provide support stations along the route featuring snacks, beverages, pies, photos, and even some sweet fur babies to make the experience even more memorable. From our doorstep to yours, the UPS Store Celina with Andy Hopkins is connecting neighbors. We are looking forward to seeing you around town for Veteran’s Day and the Celina Turkey Trot!

• 22 gauge wire
• Ornaments of at least 3 varying shades and sizes
• Wire snips
Cut desired length of wire for a cluster, about 24”
Add an ornament about 4” from one end of the wire and twist the wire around the top of the ornament to provide a base for your cluster. Twist about 5 times. You should still have about 4” of wire at the end; you will need it to tie onto your garland, tree, or wreath.
Continue adding ornaments to the wire, alternating sizes and colors until you have 4-6” of wire remaining.
Twist the remaining wire around the top of your final ornament 5 times to secure all of your ornaments in place. Making sure to leave at least 4” of wire in place at the end in order to tie onto garland, tree, or wreath.
Use the ends of the wire to attach to your holiday item of choice!!
Pro tip: Keep your clusters to the 24” length to keep from getting too heavy and/or having ornaments pop off. Ornaments will pop off at times, but they will still look gorgeous and you can always glue the ornament back onto to the top. Simple, gorgeous, and impactful!
