Originally designed for underwater exploration, the Longines Legend Diver is equally at home on land or underwater. With its timeless design and cutting-edge performance, it has been a true icon of watchmaking since 1959.
At first glance, it is distinctive because of its two crowns and internal rotating bezel. Invented by Longines, the position of the bezel inside the case protects it from accidental manipulation and shocks that could alter its settings. These true tool watches are powered by exclusive Longines calibers equipped with a silicon balance-spring. The collection is available in a range of sizes, materials and colors.

The way to every person’s heart is through their stomach, or so the saying goes. But there is some truth in that saying that food and drinks are oftentimes a way for people to connect.
The connection formed over a shared meal or happy hour cocktail is one like no other and creates an environment for meaningful conversation and growth in relationships.
Throughout my life, my friends and I would undergo phases where we would obsessively go to a specific restaurant for a season of life. Regardless of which restaurant was our newest obsession, the walls would always harbor our secrets, big life news, or our newest inside jokes. As I return to these restaurants from time to time, I am not only able to enjoy the food but also reminisce about all of the memories I have made at each one.
Let the restaurants mentioned in this issue be the places you meet at to foster connection with one another.
Cheers!

SLEEK AND STRONG CABINETRY CREATES BEAUTIFUL SPACES IN YOUR HOME
ARTICLE BY SUE BALDANI | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED
“
“We have a wide variety of different cabinet options, but they are all well made.”
In 2019, Tiger Cabinetry started out simply - in a garage. But, thanks to founder Justin Coleman’s hard work, eye for perfection, and quality products, it didn’t stay there long. The company now operates out of an 11,000-square-foot warehouse in Antioch with 20 employees who are as invested in making the company a success as its founder.
“Although owning my own business is extremely stressful, I wouldn't have it any other way,” says Justin. “I'm very proud of where we're at today. We’re doing what we do best and are blessed to be in a market that is so hot right now.”
A lot of people are curious about the name of the company. “It’s very simple; I like tigers,” he says. “When I was 8½ years old, my mother took me to a circus, and I got to feed a baby tiger. I've been obsessed with them ever since.”
Tigers are also beautiful, sleek, and strong, and when installing cabinetry, Justin wants to make sure these qualities are reflected in his work. “In this business, it's imperative to create something not only beautiful but high-quality that people are going to love. It's a big investment, and we take that very seriously.”
In addition to homeowners, he often works with investors who are either building new homes or flipping homes. One of his favorite projects was completed in July at 226 Lake Terrace Drive in Hendersonville. Built in 1964, the house needed a complete update.
“We’re doing a lot of remodeling as well as new construction,” says Justin. “This kitchen was a complete gut.
As much as I absolutely love new construction, I would say the favorite aspect of my job is in the remodeling process. We go from something that’s, say, from 1956 with maybe a little update in the 80s, and we’re bringing it into the modern era. To have those before and after aspects is really intriguing.”
While he likes making a space look new, he believes it’s also important to maintain the character of the home. “With this project, the ceiling beams are original to the home, as is the brick fireplace.”
With the house selling for over $2.5 million, Justin and his team designed a kitchen to fit the luxury price tag. “We used frameless European cabinets, which is one of our higher-end products. One of the things that makes this product more expensive is that I just can't pull it off a shelf. It all gets built to suit.”
These are what he calls hyper-modern cabinets, which are on trend right now, along with very natural wood tones. He incorporated two different color cabinets into the design for an eye-pleasing contrast.
Floating shelves next to the range hood balances out the symmetry, which is critical to the design, and the island is over 14 feet long and can seat over seven people. There are beautiful views of the lake as well.
The investor was thrilled with the completed project and even happier when the house sold for a solid profit.
“Beauty is one thing, but at the end of the day, an investor’s goal is to make money. The more economical I can make it for them, the more money that's in their pocket and the better they are at succeeding. We're very fair on

our pricing, but we’re also able to put an all-star product in homes because everything we do is high quality.”
Of course, Tiger Cabinetry also offers more economical options. “We’re able to bring any space to life,” says Justin. “We have a wide variety of different cabinet options, but they are all well made. People want to be wowed when they walk into their kitchens because they know they're going to be spending time in there and entertaining people.”
Functionality is also a priority, and before any project is undertaken, a bird's eye view and 3D renderings are produced to make sure everything looks perfect. This technology is not offered by every cabinet company.
“One of the reasons we’ve been so successful is because we're always striving to improve,” he says. “I take that very seriously because a lot of homeowners and investors look to me for education.”
Consistency, efficiency, and attention to detail, paired with the most important aspect of any business –communication – are also what he believes makes Tiger Cabinetry a company in high demand.
“We are predominantly referral-based, so word of mouth, and we’re just striving to be the best. And I think we are the best.”

Jon Kearns is the award-winning sommelier at the critically acclaimed restaurant Carne Mare Nashville. The contemporary Italian chophouse is located within the W Nashville and has been honored for its outstanding wine program led by Beverage Director Jon Kearns in Wine Spectator’s 2024 Restaurant Awards, which celebrate the world’s best restaurants for wine.
Born and raised on Long Island, Jon spent his days post-graduation in New York City working in music journalism while also serving at a local restaurant. With nearly two-and-a-half thousand different wines on their menu, Jon was fascinated by the restaurant’s sommeliers and decided he wanted to learn more about their jobs and wine, in general. This ultimately led to him working in the cellar before officially becoming a sommelier at the same restaurant two years later.
“I remember when I first started, and they told me they had a big wine program that I would have to learn about,” Jon recalls, reminiscing about how he first became acquainted with the beverage. “I remember having to kind of research ‘what is wine?’ so I could get some kind of basis for my interview.”
Following Carne Mare Nashville’s recent recognition of Best of Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator – an honor received by only seven recipients in Nashville – the city hotspot now offers Friday evening wine-tasting experiences! Jon oversees the construction of the full wine list at Carne Mare and will lead participants through a wine tasting alongside artisanal cheese, warm bread, and marinated olives in the bar area. The intimate, ticketed event began in August and will run through the end of October.
This program emphasizes a culture of education within the restaurant to demystify wine and present a quality selection in a way that’s approachable and exciting for each guest. The wine list primarily focuses on Italy’s indigenous varietals, including selections from the Piedmont, Sicily, Tuscany, and Campania regions, with some North American and French wines offering a supporting role. In addition, Carne Mare offers their “Now Pouring” experience, where guests have the opportunity to get an exclusive taste of rare finds and highly sought-after wines featured by the glass.
“You’re going to find something a little different,” Jon shares on what guests can expect to learn in one of his classes. “If we’re in a major region, I’m going to try to not necessarily do the classics but find you something a little more interesting with a lot of value. In addition to just learning more about wine, I want to introduce you to wines that you can take home and have with your meal – something you can find at a local shop that’s new and different to create great wine and food experiences for yourself.”
Carne Mare’s menu begins with fine seafood, oysters, traditional antipasti, salads and carpaccio. Entrées include housemade pasta, seafood, and, of course, the main attraction: prime-aged beef, wagyu, and prime rib, served with a selection of steakhouse contorni. Jon notes that while the whole wine program is developed to accompany foods on their menu, he likes to focus on steak-friendly wines in addition to ones that would work well with their seafood. He also enjoys talking to the individual guests to see what their preferences are and what they’re having “because sometimes it’s about pairing the wine with the food and sometimes it’s about what the guests want.”
by
“One thing about wine professionals is we love to share new things with people.”
“Getting people excited about something new and about having a great experience is a highlight.”
Jon’s advice for someone who has never dabbled in wine but wants to gain knowledge would be to start focusing on what parts of certain wines you do and do not like. From there, he suggests understanding the verbiage – whether it be with a sommelier or with your wine store professional – to learn the vocabulary to express what your preferences are.
When asked what his favorite part of his job is, Jon says, “Getting people excited about something new and about having a great experience” is a highlight. He also mentions how much he values creating those experiences for people and seeing them enjoy them.
For more information on their upcoming classes, check out their website.

With so many fun restaurants and bars, old and new, it can be hard to narrow down the options when planning a date night in Nashville...but that's where I come in! I dined in 400+ restaurants in total over the last year to scout them out for you, so I've picked a long-time favorite destination for pre-dinner drinks and a hot new spot in 12 South that will ensure a fun and

tasty night out. If you’re looking to spend an evening filled with fun, laughter, and delicious food, consider kicking off your date night with drinks at Fox Bar & Cocktail Club, followed by dinner, dessert, and a stroll at Fonda in the trendy 12 South neighborhood. I love the vibes at dark and moody Fox Bar & Cocktail Club, an intimate cocktail bar that embodies the spirit of Nashville with a modern twist. Located in the heart of East Nashville, The Fox is known for its expertly crafted cocktails and laidback yet stylish atmosphere. As you step inside, the warm lighting and eclectic decor create an inviting ambiance. The knowledgeable bartenders are eager to share their passion for mixology, and they’ll gladly recommend drinks based on your preferences (and really solid zero-proof options!).
For a fun and interactive experience, consider ordering a couple of their signature cocktails to share. The seasonally rotating “Fox Old Fashioned” is a classic choice—a delightful twist on a timeless favorite. If you’re in the mood for a caffeine jolt, try the “Espresso Martini" made with an East Nashville favorite Elegy cold brew. As you sip your drinks, take the opportunity to engage in lively conversation, enjoying the buzz of the bar and the eclectic crowd that fills the space.
Once you’ve had your fill of drinks and the evening is still young, make your way to Fonda, a vibrant new elevated Mexican eatery located in the 12 South neighborhood. The atmosphere at Fonda is lively and colorful with an open layout that fosters a sense of community. The restaurant’s commitment to
authentic Mexican cuisine and its creative twist on traditional dishes make it a perfect spot for a fun dinner date.
Begin your meal with some of their signature appetizers such as the "Guacamole En Molcajete" or a creamy roasted poblano queso. My personal favorite small plate is the "Esquites Con Langosta" featuring fabulous roasted chile lobster tail atop Mexican street corn. It’s a dish that’s bursting with flavor and perfect for sharing. Pair it with tequila cocktails or flavorful zero-proof drinks. When it comes to the main course, Fonda offers a variety of options that cater to different tastes.
As dinner winds down and you’re feeling pleasantly satisfied, don’t skip dessert! Fonda’s concise dessert menu is a delightful surprise, offering a duo of sweets that are sure to leave a lasting impression.
After dinner, consider taking a leisurely stroll through the 12 South neighborhood. The area is known for its picturesque streets, charming boutiques, and vibrant murals, making it an ideal setting for a romantic walk. You might even stop by the famous “I Believe in Nashville” mural for a fun photo op capturing the essence of your date night.
With a combination of expertly crafted cocktails at The Fox, delicious elevated Mexican cuisine at Fonda, and a picturesque stroll through 12 South, your date night in Nashville is sure to be a memorable experience filled with laughter, great conversation, and cherished moments. To gain entry into Nashville’s latest restaurant sensation –888– simply keep an eye out for the glowing red recording light.
Nestled within the JW Marriott Nashville with its own private entrance, this innovative Japanese restaurant and vinyl recording-listening lounge welcomes guests when the red light flickers on. 888 opened its doors on September 6th, offering an unforgettable experience that blends fine dining with the nostalgia of vinyl records. It’s truly a special experience for every customer who comes through their doors.
“What I truly believe is my forte is making people feel special,” Philip Stewart, 888’s general manager, says. “And that’s for the people sitting in the seats and the people who are working there and looking after the people who are sitting in the seats.”
The name 888 was chosen due to its slang online usage in Japan, representing applause. In Japanese culture, 888 also means something amazing is coming your way: prosperity and something bigger and better than ever before. The speakeasy-inspired restaurant aims to bring Nashville a dining experience that can often be found in New York City and Los Angeles, where meals are not only intimate and personalized but also communal. Guests will also enjoy a warm, engaging atmosphere where they will learn about the history behind each dish on their plate.
“As part of this opening, I want this also to be a case to educate locals,” Philip says. “You can absolutely have top-quality sushi in a landlocked state. There’s a stigma surrounding it down here, and it's just not true with today’s advanced logistics, so we’re looking forward to having
“ What I truly believe is my forte is making people feel special,” Philip Stewart, 888’s general manager, says. “And that’s for the people sitting in the seats and the people who are working there and looking after the people who are sitting in the seats.”
Additionally, 888 has enlisted the support of the local community to bring this unique concept to life, making it a true collaboration that reflects Nashville’s vibrant culture.
“Everything from one half of the team who designed the entire sound system and the acoustics of the space was born and bred here and have done some really cool work with some musicians around town,” Philip explains. “We’re working with a local pottery firm to do a lot of our plateware and our sake cups, as we're trying to invest back into the community as best we can.”
educational pieces at tableside. We’re also going to do classes on sushi making, sushi rolls, and sake. So just the things that the people haven't had a lot of exposure to over the decade, we want to help there.”
Another highlight of 888’s dining experience is its remarkable vinyl collection, which guests are encouraged to request new vinyls to add to the restaurant’s anthology. As of its opening, the restaurant has an impressive collection of over 2,000 vinyl records, with that number rapidly growing.
888 has something on the menu for everyone, from high-quality sushi to an unforgettable Wagyu filet. They even offer traditional Japanese desserts, and all of their menu items can be paired perfectly with anything from their long and impressive cocktail and sake list.
888 offers an unforgettable dining experience for all who come. Secure your reservation by visiting their website or making it over the phone. And remember, when you see that red light flicker on, you know something exceptional awaits you.

ALLEY ALLIGATOR'S AWESOME SMILE HELPS CHILDREN WITH DENTIST'S VISITS
ARTICLE BY MYRA SIMMONS MCENTIRE | PHOTOGRAPHY
PROVIDED
In the 1990s, Dr. Timothy McNutt, Sr. noticed that most books about dental visits for children involved scary procedures, toothaches, or accidents. He felt strongly that children should be introduced to the dentist in a positive, non-threatening way, but he found nothing in the book market that was focused on the dentist as a
safe and enjoyable experience. “At that time, there were very few books written for children telling them how a trip to the dentist could go. Most were written in a way where the child was going because there was a problem. We wanted them to visit before there was a problem and to encourage parents to bring their children in at an early age. The Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends children start seeing the dentist about six months after their first teeth appear. In our office, visits for children 24 months and under are free.”
After an exhaustive and fruitless search for happy stories about dental visits, the idea to write Alley Alligator’s Awesome Smile seized Dr. McNutt’s imagination.
“I was in the backseat of a car on the way to Greenville, North Carolina, with the people I bought the practice from, Dr. Dan Baccus and his wife. Dr. Baccus was my dentist growing up. I started going to him when I was ten years old. I told him when I was thirteen that I was going to buy his practice one day, and that’s what I did. We were going to a meeting, so I had about 6 or 8 hours in the backseat on the way there.” As he created the story, he asked himself, “How can I write this in a way that portrays what I normally do at visits that make things a lot less threatening for the children?”
Dr. McNutt applied tricks he used in his daily experiences. “Alley Alligator’s Awesome Smile is about a child whose big brother has already gone to the dentist, and she’s preparing for a visit.

She doesn’t even have all her teeth yet. I used a lot of things we would tell the children at McNutt Pediatric Dentistry. The big light is called Mr. Sunshine, we have a tooth counter, we use the Super-Duper Toothbrush that gets the sugar bugs off the teeth -exactly what we talk about as we go through a visit.”
The search for an illustrator led to a serendipitous moment reminiscent of his childhood. “Frank Weatherby illustrated the book. His wife brought in some prints, and as I looked through them, I found one of an old grocery store in the country. It reminded me of the grocery store where my dad grew up, in Waynesboro, Tennessee. My dad had passed away six months prior, and it turned out the print was of that store.” Mr. Weatherby was terrified of the dentist. By the time we got through working together, I was able to do some work for him.”
Dr. McNutt purchased the practice in 1989. “I’ve been in practice for 36 years, and this practice has been here in Green Hills since 1963.” He has three sons, and his youngest, David, is also a pediatric dentist and works with his father, creating an authentic family atmosphere. Dr. McNutt
also contributes to the special needs community by seeing patients with a wide range of physical and emotional disabilities and taking time and care to make sure those patients are comfortable with their experiences.

A look inside Nashville’s buzzing new omakase experience.
ARTICLE BY MORGAN RAUM | PHOTOGRAPHY BY DANIELLE ATKINS
Sushi | Bar Nashville is an intimate omakase speakeasy that presents a whimsical celebration of its namesake fare through 17 exquisite courses. The hidden gem is new to Music City and tucked inside The Gulch. Since opening its first location in Austin, Texas, in 2020, Sushi | Bar Nashville is now one of only five locations in the country. The chefs teach guests about each course along the way, ensuring both a lavish and knowledgeable experience.
Ryan Stock is one of the three partners of Sushi | Bar. Working in the restaurant industry since high school, he knew from an early age that his passion fell within cooking and hospitality. He spent years in culinary school before creating Sushi | Bar.
Guests of Sushi | Bar Nashville will experience an inviting ambiance as their culinary chefs expertly prepare a 17-course selection of new-wave nigiri along with other impressive delicacies from both land and sea. With a welcome cocktail waiting for you as you walk in, an unmarked door lies an intimate dining room housing twelve seats where you will sit eye-to-eye with the sushi counter. Taking the traditional sushi experience and infusing it with delightful surprises, the chefs offer a fresh perspective on beloved classics, adding unexpected flavors and spins.
All courses are listed on a board sitting behind the chefs, which allows guests to follow along with each bite. Watching the chefs curate each piece and listening as they walk you through the ingredients offers a unique and memorable experience. The intimacy of each reservation encourages banter between guests and the chefs, as well as getting to know the people sitting around you as you dine. Sushi | Bar’s specially curated omakase experience is comprised of a rotating menu that includes seasonal ingredients and welcomes a culinary journey that is sure to be nothing short of extraordinary.
“What’s really cool with omakase in general, but especially with our experiences, is that the guests don’t really have to make any of the decisions,” Ryan shares. “There is not the intimidation of not knowing what you want to order or not being familiar with certain types of sushi… all of that is taken off of your plate so the guests can just show up and enjoy.”
Ryan shares how exciting it has been for him and his team to be bringing the first true omakase experience to Music City. He states, “[Nashville] is such an exciting town and there’s a lot of growth and investment into the infrastructure of the city. It’s a town that’s certainly got a lot of great restaurants and chefs, but I also think it’s a town that has a ton of opportunity for some really awesome stuff to still come in.”
Reservations for the exclusive experience open on the first of every month. After quickly selling out the first few weeks since their grand opening in July, the restaurant has officially added more reservation times, now seating: 5:00 p.m., 5:45 p.m., 7:15 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. Wednesdays through

Sundays, in addition to a 9:30 p.m. slot on Fridays and Saturdays. Attached to the establishment is the Golden Sound cocktail lounge. Enriched with history, the location of Golden Sound used to be a recording studio in the older days of Nashville. Accessible without reservations, it is the perfect spot to indulge in a classic cocktail and offers a new, luxurious spot to visit in the city.

A LOOK INSIDE KARRINGTON ROWE, THE NEW RESTAURANT OFFERING CLASSIC AMERICAN CUISINE COMING SOON TO THE HEART OF BRENTWOOD.
Sean Lyons is one of four partners bringing Karrington Rowe, a new restaurant and dining experience, to Brentwood this winter. With a menu consisting of homestyle dishes with a contemporary flair, Sean and his partners are excited to bring this new establishment south of the city and are looking forward to continuing a legacy of community and culinary excellence. As an owner of two Nashville favorites, Germantown Café, and Park Café, Sean gives us a look into what we can expect from the upcoming eatery.
ARTICLE BY MORGAN RAUM PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED
Sean has always had a passion for the food industry. At only ten years old, he spent his evenings watching the Food Network, fascinated by the chefs and creations. He got his first job at fourteen working for a local Spanish tapas restaurant before starting with a restaurant group in downtown Chicago. After college, he began touring with the famed Hillstone Restaurant Group, visiting different restaurants all around the country. This opportunity ultimately led him to Nashville, where he worked to create the Dream Hotel and solidify its food and
beverage offerings before partnering with and reinvigorating the two restaurants of his own. In addition to his restaurant career, Sean also spent a few years traveling the world as a professional ballroom dancer!
Sean’s story is just one chapter in the journey of Up Hospitality Partners; each of its founders brings deep roots in Nashville and hospitality, and the team can’t wait for you to learn the rest of their story.
While the menu at Karrington Rowe holds items that feel nostalgic, the team prides themselves on making sure the taste and presentation are top-notch.
“WE WANT TO BUILD ON THE LEGACY OF OUR ESTABLISHED BRANDS, WHAT THEY’VE BUILT IN THEIR COMMUNITIES, AND CREATE THAT SAME DINING EXPERIENCE THAT FEELS INSTANTLY FAMILIAR BUT STILL FRESH,” SEAN SHARES.
The thoughtfully curated menu will consist of classic American dishes, in addition to some of Germantown Café and Park Café’s fan favorites, including their famous French onion soup, coconut curry salmon, and ahi tuna, as well as an array of desserts made in-house everyday.
Speaking on why Brentwood was chosen as the new location, Sean shares that many guests at Germantown Café would commute from Brentwood just to dine at the local hotspot.
“I can’t tell you how many times we were asked, ‘When are you coming to Brentwood? We need a local place like this,’” Sean recalls. “When we thought it was time for us to grow, we saw the location and thought, ‘this is it, this is the perfect spot.’”
The support and love from the Nashville community is not something that Sean takes lightly; he shares how extremely grateful he is for the people who have shown overwhelming support and excitement for his new journey with Karrington Rowe.
“It’s everything,” Sean says. “Germantown Café was destroyed by the 2020 tornado, and most restaurants affected by this and COVID-19 had to shutter their doors… but because of the history and support, it allowed us to keep open, retain our team, and build culture. It was the groundwork of us being successful again and keeping the brand alive. There is such strong culture and support in Nashville - our goal is to keep the Nashville legacy alive and allow folks in Brentwood to taste the nostalgia without having to drive thirty minutes downtown.”
Sean and his partners are focused on creating a restaurant that allows an atmosphere that holds a little bit of everything. Open for lunch Monday through Friday, dinner Monday through Saturday, and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, Karrington Rowe was built with the goal of being a place people want to go back to.
“We want to build on the legacy of our established brands, what they’ve built in their communities, and create that same dining experience that feels instantly familiar but still fresh,” Sean shares.

Recently, while on a trip to Iceland, I had the opportunity to indulge in some of the country’s most well-known dishes and learn more about how they prepare each dish and its significance.
everything on it. It is a simple everyday food that has been perfected with the meat being a perfect blend of lamb, pork, and beef, hot dog sauce, and sweet mustard with a mix of raw and homemade,
“THE MOST INFAMOUS HOT DOG

WHICH TRANSLATES TO ‘BEST IN TOWN’.”
Icelandic cuisine is deeply rooted in the island's history and environment. From traditional fare like fermented shark (hákarl) and lamb soup (kjötsúpa) to modern interpretations of seafood and dairy products, the food reflects Iceland's connection to the sea, the land, and its rich Viking heritage. Each dish I got to eat offered a glimpse into Iceland's culture and the history of its people, making the food not only delicious but fascinating.
Despite the long list of fine delicacies that can be found in Iceland, they are by far best known for their simple yet delicious hotdog, preferably ordered with
crispy onions placed underneath the meat that completes the hot dog with a perfect crunchiness. The most infamous hot dog stand is Bæjarins Beztu, which translates to “best in town.” This famous stand is located in Reykjavík and will always be found with a line wrapped around the block.
Kjötsúpa, Icelandic lamb soup, may not be a common meal in America, but it’s a staple in most Icelandic households. Due to the consistently frigid temperatures that Iceland experiences, Kjötsúpa is the perfect comfort food to warm you up. It’s available in most restaurants across the island and is

primarily made up of lamb, which serves as both the meat and base for the broth. A mix of vegetables, such as carrots, onions, and potatoes, as well as spices, such as rosemary and thyme, are thrown into the mix to add more flavor to the dish. Traditionally, it’s served with a warm piece of bread on the side. Another type of soup that is popular in Iceland is mushroom soup.
This dish, from a local restaurant in Reykjavík, is a simple combination of homemade butter, fresh salmon, and pickled onions, all served atop a piece of rye bread. It represents a lot of different aspects of Iceland’s culinary scene, with rye bread being a must-try while visiting Iceland due to both its sensational flavor and unique history. Iceland has numerous hot springs scattered across the country, which have played a role in baking. There is a traditional baking method where you can bury pots of bread dough in the ground near the springs, allowing the natural heat to bake the rye bread. While this practice isn’t used as much as it once was, it’s a cherished tradition that Iceland visitors can experience.
