The Home Issue

March 2024
The Home Issue
Home. So much contained in that little four-letter word. Home is our grounding. Our base. Our launchpad. It’s where we start and end each day. And while the particulars look different for each of us, the meaning and value it holds for all of us is undeniable.
Author Wendy Wunder said, “The magic thing about home is that it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back.” As we thought about home - we wanted to highlight what makes it special to our readers. That includes the food and drinks, the aesthetic and design, and most importantly - the people.

We feel like the lucky ones as we got to learn more about the businesses and individuals that comprise this city and hope the small lens into their lives and work brings people in this community together.
As you flip through the pages of this issue, we hope you’ll feel encouraged and connected to the people around you - in your city, neighborhood, and most all of - your home.
Every month, we hear from readers who keep this magazine for longer than just the month labeled on the cover. They say they hold onto it for months as coffee table art or an accessory in their home. We feel proud to create a resource valued in our community and strive every month to deliver the value you expect. Thanks for letting us be a part of your home.
Happy March!

LUXURY SHOWER DOORS

SHOWER DOORS OF NASHVILLE CRAFTS
BEAUTIFUL AND CUSTOM SHOWER DOORS

March is here and it’s the perfect time to put some TLC into your bathroom! Out with the old, and in with the new! One way to elevate your bathroom is by upgrading your shower doors to ones that encapsulate the shower steam and keep the mold out all whilst looking and making you feel luxurious.
Look no further than Shower Doors of Nashville, who may introduce you to the shower door you didn’t realize you needed and make this dream a reality!
Shower Doors of Nashville are known for their frameless custom shower doors. If you need a custom shower door, there’s no better team suited for the job than the one led

Miguel Graf. In mid-2023, Miguel Graf purchased Shower Doors of Nashville, an existing company with deep expertise in custom shower enclosures. His goal: build on the high standards and deep knowledge within the team to spread the luxury and sophistication of custom frameless shower doors.
“Having worked most of my life in large corporate organizations, I really love being a small business that does everything it can to please our customers,” Miguel explains. “In the construction space, things sometimes don’t go according to plan, so having a very human business, we can address any concerns much more quickly than many of our larger competitors. Ultimately, we are building a business in the community, for the community, and it has been a fascinating journey. The team we have has deep knowledge doing one thing day in and day out and that is the key to our success.”
By selecting to work with a local business such as Shower Doors of Nashville - the customer has more say and control in the creative process of their shower renovation. Along with that, the experience is also more personal. Shower Doors of Nashville make this a quick and seamless renovation.
According to Miguel, with the current real estate market, there is a pick-up in bathroom

remodels. “Barn-door style sliding doors have become one of the many styles people ask us about,” Miguel explains. “I personally love the frameless, glass-to-glass hinged systems. Frameless glass shower enclosures continue to gain momentum for their sleek and unobtrusive appearance. They create a sense of spaciousness, allowing natural light to permeate the entire bathroom, giving it a brighter and more welcoming ambiance.”
Switching to frameless shower doors can also provide benefits many aren’t aware of. Miguel says that these types of shower doors increase the home value while providing a sense of modernity and harmony in the most intimate part of your home. Overall you experience a brighter and more welcoming ambiance.
“Frameless shower doors provide many advantages over shower curtains or framed doors,” Miguel states. “The obvious one being an elegant and weightless feel to any bathroom, immediately increasing the light flow throughout the space. Frameless also allows us to construct more intricate designs. Finally, with high-quality glass and the added glass protectant options, it is very easy to keep the shower area looking great, clean, and mold-free.”
Their work speaks for itself. Upon seeing one photo of their flawless and sleek frameless shower doors, anyone can see just how stunning their work is. Shower Doors of Nashville also has a showroom in which anyone curious to see their craftsmanship in person is welcome to come and see some example work.
Besides custom-built shower doors, the business also excels in creating beautiful wine cellars, sleek glass kitchen cabinets, jaw-dropping mirrors, luxurious glass top desks, see-through glass railings, and even more intricate glass projects!
Miguel also collaborates with other small, local businesses for custom projects which showcases community amongst businesses. One of the projects he’s collaborated on was with a local home builder for a wine cellar.
“They prepared a beautiful grid-scape design with iron and glass,” he explains. “We provided the glass install and it is simply stunning.”
Miguel hopes to one day create a network of small local businesses, a dream that is slowly becoming a reality.
“While Shower Doors of Nashville is my first business, I want to build a network of small local businesses to serve the community,” Miguel says. “While there is obviously a place for larger companies, small businesses provide stable jobs and value their place in the local community. If I can entice readers to select local whenever possible, that would be awesome.”

Interweaving Memories and Meanings
INCORPORATING PAPER, FABRICS AND VINYL INTO BEAUTIFUL PIECES OF ART

Before Amy Harms creates a final art piece, she first has to destroy it. For most artists, this would be a terrifying concept. “It’s very freeing,” she says. “When I cut apart my paintings, I really embrace the hundreds of different strips. Playing with the patterns, changing the form and tune of the artwork into a new cadence and then weaving it all together into a final evolved piece of work.”
In addition to art paper, Amy often incorporates vinyl records and textiles into her designs, but none of her weaves are in any particular pattern. “Things emerge organically during the weaving process that you wouldn't have seen just in my normal paintings,” she says. “So, I really feel like I can better express myself through weaving.”
As a talented piano player with a music degree from Missouri State University, rhythm and vibrations are a big part of Amy’s process. “I feel like my brain gravitates towards music because that’s how my artistic journey started,” she says. “When I'm painting, I'll see a score or lines of a staff or strings of a guitar or a piano. In my head, I feel music when I look at my work and I try to express that.”
Most of her paper weaves are commission-based, and she enjoys incorporating materials and images that are meaningful to her clients. “I’ve been seeing a trend of clients who order commissions around the timing of sentimental landmarks or occasions,” says Amy. “For example, for a piece I made for a client’s father for a 70th birthday surprise gift, I incorporated several of his favorite albums over the decades of his life. Another is a commission I’m working on now that’s for a couple celebrating the memory of their father/father-in-law by having me weave in pieces of his favorite Pink Floyd albums.
ARTICLE BY SUE BALDANI | PHOTOGRAPHY BY CHRISTIAN TAYLOR“This is what my goal is with my work - to not just create a piece of artwork that looks ‘pretty’ in their space - but to make a deeply personal piece of art that is actually a family heirloom to pass on for generations.”
She also often collaborates with interior designers to make her art fit harmoniously into a specific space in terms of color, size, and design. Other times, she’s given full artistic freedom, which she also enjoys.
In addition to the inventory in her home studio, Amy showcases her work at gallery shows and in art crawls. At Nashville Jam Session at Nashville International Airport, she has miniature weaves as well as vinyl record jewelry on display. “The store is owned by a local family, and they are musicians themselves,” she says. “They are really supportive of local artists.”
Amy and her family - husband Ryan, 14-year-old daughter Hailey, and two rescue dogs, Dale and Cookie - love living in Brentwood. “It’s so pretty here, such a friendly community and just a great lifestyle," she says.

LOCAL AUTHOR DISCUSSES HER DEBUT BOOK AND LIFE AS A WRITER
ARTICLE BY MYRA MCENTIRE | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

Hope Gibbs grew up in rural Scottsville, Kentucky. As the daughter of an English teacher, she was raised to value the importance of good storytelling from an early age. Today, she’s an avid reader of women’s fiction. Drawn to multi-generational family sagas, relationship issues, and the complexities of being a woman, she translates those themes into her own writing.
City Lifestyle spoke with her about her debut book, Where the Grass Grows Blue
HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A WRITER?
"I’ve always wanted to be a writer since I was a little girl. But it wasn’t books I aspired to; rather, I wanted to write for soap operas. Every Friday afternoon, I would come up with little storylines in my head for my favorite characters. It wasn’t exactly age-appropriate entertainment, but it certainly stoked my creativity. By the time I was in college at Western Kentucky University, I’d given up on that dream but decided to stay in the medium by majoring in marketing and television production. I loved everything about it, even interning at Talk of the Town in Nashville. But after graduation, facing a heap of student loans, I changed directions again and began a career in the merchandising department of a large corporation in my hometown.
After the birth of my first child, I decided to leave that job to become a stay-at-home mother. It was hard to say goodbye to the company I’d grown to love, but I knew it was the right choice for me at the time. In my mind, I would be going back to work in a few years. However, before I knew it, I had four more children.
As life rushed by, consumed with raising a family, I found myself startled when my eldest graduated from high school and set off for college. It happened in a blink of an eye. Then it hit me. Despite having four children at home, they too would soon embark on their own journeys.
The prospect of becoming an empty nester hovered over me, prompting me to wonder: What awaited me at fifty? What was going to be the next chapter in my life?
To help me cope with this mini-midlife crisis, I began re-evaluating things. On the advice of a dear friend, I started journaling my feelings out on a laptop as an outlet. That lasted about a week before I noticed I wasn’t writing about me or my goals—I was creating a whole new character named Penny Ray Crenshaw. Every free moment, I wrote when I had the chance. In the beginning, it was usually after dinner, when my children were busy with homework and my kitchen was clean. But that only got me so far. I took every “free” opportunity I could get. I started toting around my laptop to basketball, football, lacrosse, and soccer games when there was a break in the action in case something struck me. That “next chapter,” the one I had been agonizing over, turned into twenty-eight chapters and an epilogue—it became Where the Grass Grows Blue."
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR BOOK.
"Where the Grass Grows Blue is one woman’s journey to either accept her past by embracing the power of forgiveness or risk losing a second chance at love in a small Kentucky town. It focuses on Penny Crenshaw, recovering from a scandalous divorce in Atlanta, and her return to her small Kentucky hometown to settle her grandmother’s estate. Amidst painful memories and the rekindling of old relationships, especially with her childhood best friend and the keeper of her darkest secrets, Bradley Hitchens, she faces the choice of finally letting go of her past wounds or risking a chance at love.
It’s a quintessential Southern experience full of complicated family dynamics, friendship, food, and a love affair that spans almost twenty-five years. However, at its core, the narrative revolves around forgiveness—unveiling the consequences of prolonged

"I wanted to bring the uniqueness of the South to a wider community of readers, weaving a narrative that brings to life its culture, cuisine, and the vibrant personalities that define the region."
denial and highlighting the transformative potential that emerges when extending forgiveness to both others and oneself."
WHY DID YOU WANT TO SET A BOOK IN THE SOUTH?
"I wanted to bring the uniqueness of the South to a wider community of readers, weaving a narrative that brings to life its culture, cuisine, and the vibrant personalities that define the region. Drawing inspiration from my surroundings and going back to my own upbringing in Kentucky, I aspired to articulate the distinctive appeal found within a small town."
WHY DO YOU THINK ROMANCE IS THE TOP-SELLING CATEGORY FOR READERS?
"All you need is love, right? At its core, romance is all about the human experience of connection. In a world filled with uncertainties and challenges, it gives you a sense of hope. The promise of a happy ending, where love conquers all. That’s a comforting and reassuring narrative that resonates with readers.
Strangely, I didn’t set out to write a contemporary romance. I thought Where the Grass Grows Blue was more women’s fiction with a romantic element woven throughout. But when reviews came in, specifically from Kirkus, I could see that it fits into that genre and am honored to be in this category."
WHAT’S BEEN THE MOST CHALLENGING/ MOST REWARDING PART OF YOUR PUBLISHING JOURNEY?
"Just getting published was a huge obstacle. The most rewarding part of this journey, without sounding too
cliché, is connecting with readers. Having friends and family read my work is wonderful, but when strangers reach out on social media or through email, expressing how my words touched them or resonated with their own experiences, it’s truly special.
For the most challenging part of my publishing journey—the writing itself. I had no clue what I was doing initially. My writing experience was limited to a few college essays and some scripts.
Crafting a 95,000-word manuscript? That was completely different. It took me about a year to write the first draft, followed by another year and a half of rewriting and editing it. I then sat on the manuscript for an additional year before mustering the courage to query it."
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU?
"I’m almost finished with my second book, Ashes to Ashes (a working title). It’s an upmarket fiction book, set in Nashville, that focuses on a tight-knit group of women whose world is rocked after the unexpected death of their dear friend, Ellen, under mysterious circumstances. But before they can even process their grief, they stumble across a web of secrets and lies, unraveling Ellen’s perfect life—the one she tried so hard to project to the outside world.
I’m also busy with my podcast, "Authors Talking Bookish"; alongside my co-host, Donna NormanCarbone. Our podcast is dedicated to supporting aspiring writers by sharing valuable insights gained through our own publishing and writing experiences. We try to ease their journey by offering advice on navigating the challenges of the industry."

Simplify Your Life With A Well-Organized Space

Spring
Cleaning
Counting down the days until spring cleaning? Are you dreading the big clean? Looking for help with a mess that has accumulated throughout the year? Then consider Simplify615’s organizational prowess.
Lauren Thurman and Courtney Fraser-Mason are business partners and friends. They founded Simplify615 in the wake of COVID-19 sparked by an interest in how people were using their homes in new ways and the need to maximize space. Their mutual love for organizing and helping others inspired them to embark on this new professional direction.

Simplify615 is a home organizing business based in Brentwood that serves the Greater Nashville area. Their team helps organize people’s busy lifestyles by bringing them order in their most inhabited spaces. They are ready to help you tackle even your most challenging spaces: pantry, kitchen, bathroom, closets, office, garage, kids’ playrooms, and storage areas.
They will initially meet with you for a consultation to assess the mess and to create a plan that will best serve you and your budget. After you make a game plan, the first step to a successfully organized space starts with editing down items and keeping things that you need and love. Letting go of things that are no

longer serving you creates space to enjoy the things that mean the most to you.
Editing items is followed by categorizing them. This means “like goes with like” and creating sections in each project like a pantry or closet. Pro tip: Don’t forget the labels! Each item has an identifiable home which gives you a clear and productive way to store and access your household items. Your items are then beautifully contained using baskets and containers curated just for you!
Lastly, they wrap up a project by adding finishing touches. Maybe hanging those paintings and photographs that have been lying against the wall, waiting to be admired but collecting dust.

to have on so many of their clients. For many, it seems to be a daunting task to tackle the clutter that has built up due to a variety of life circumstances. Simplify615 brings a non-judgmental approach to meeting clients where they are and walking them step by step through the process. They find it most rewarding hearing from clients about how much weight has been lifted from their lives, bringing them a feeling of freedom and peace. Consider home organizing an investment in yourself!
Two months ago, the Simplify615 team started 2024 with a “No New Things” January challenge! This means not buying anything new and promoting reusing and recycling items. The purpose is to create mindfulness in what you bring into your home (hitting clutter where it starts) as well as appreciating the things you already have. You can try it for a month or a year depending on your level of commitment. Don’t worry, this doesn’t include needs or experiences like concerts, football games, or museum visits!
Whether you need the organizing yourself or know someone who does, you might consider gifting these ladies’ talents to those people in your life. If someone needs some structure for the mess but can’t do it themselves or doesn’t have the time, send them some help as a gift!
This team of four moms has a loyal following on Instagram where you can check out their miracle makeovers.

Sebring Design Build Creates Your Dream Kitchen and Bathroom
FEEL RIGHT AT HOME WITH A BEAUTIFUL KITCHEN OR BATHROOM WITH SEBRING DESIGN BUILD
ARTICLE BY MARY COMPTON PHOTOGRAPHY BY PAUL NICOL PHOTOGRAPHY AND SARA KATE PHOTOGRAPHY

Feel right at home with a beautiful kitchen or bath from Sebring Design Build.
Experience enhanced comfort in your home with a new kitchen or bath renovation. Allow us to introduce Bryan Sebring, the owner of the remodeling and design team at Sebring Design Build. Originally from the Chicago suburbs, Bryan moved to Middle Tennessee in early 2021 to embark on a journey in luxury interior remodeling and support his daughter's budding music career. Owning Sebring Design Build since 1999, Bryan has been dedicated to creating newly remodeled rooms for clients.
Bryan's journey into the home construction and renovation field began at the age of 15, guided by exceptional mentors who imparted the skills needed for success in this industry. Acquiring a strong work ethic and a comprehensive understanding of building components, Bryan purchased his first condo at 18, fully immersing himself in the world of homes. Following a period of working for a subcontractor, where he honed his craftsmanship and learned the standards of quality work, Bryan has spent 25 years in the business, earning the trust of clients who specifically requested him and his work.
Sebring’s team of designers collaborates with homeowners using a 3D CAD system, ensuring a seamless experience by connecting construction to design as a cohesive team, eliminating the need for hiring multiple companies.
"The Design-Build process is key to a successful remodeling project. We connect the designer with the estimator to the contractor so it's all under one roof. This makes the entire process much less frustrating for homeowners," says Sebring. Sebring Design Build operates as a classic design-build onestop shop, eliminating the hassle of going to and from different companies to complete a renovation.
CONTINUED >

Bryan has the ability to bring your vision to life through his designer's creativity. Meetings with designers can be conducted in person & over Zoom, where they will discuss your budget and attentively listen to your needs to make your dream project a reality.
"I always tell people to treat your first meeting like a first date. Ask lots of detailed questions and get to know them. This will reduce the possibility of hiring the wrong contractor," advises Sebring.
Every job at Sebring is customized, with the use of technology like 3D renderings to present you with a personalized plan. Their inspiration is drawn from your ideas, making the design both beautiful and feasible. Once the design agreement is in place, the team initiates the detailed planning and begins selecting elements for the project, ranging from lighting to hardware. This process minimizes changes and ensures the satisfaction of our clients.
In kitchen designs, Sebring introduces the latest trends, incorporating natural light, moody colors, and white accents. Darker cabinet colors like hunter green, navy, and black are popular, complemented by champagne hardware. Mixing textures and tones, as well as different color cabinetry, can add a contemporary or traditional touch. Sebring Design Build also sells full custom cabinetry, simplifying the design process.
For bathrooms, the trend leans towards a spa-like atmosphere, with ample light and natural colors like tans, whites, and creams paired with furniture-style vanities. Walk-in glass showers are highly sought after,

and Sebring can bring the spa and relaxed environment to your home with multiple tiles in different tones and sizes, creating a cohesive and calming ambiance.
Bryan Sebring aims to help you create lasting memories in your dream home, recognizing that most cherished moments are made at home. In today's customizable era, the industry has expanded significantly, providing a plethora of options. Bryan emphasizes, "There are a thousand times more options compared to 20 years ago. To help reduce the overwhelming task of picking every detail, we'll do the research to find what they want," ensuring a smoother and quicker process.
Bryan's background is one of hard work and hands-on learning. He instills the values of hard work and self-efficiency in his family, with children ranging from ages 14 to 20. Bryan encourages those interested in the business to reach out, observe, and learn the craft hands-on through practical experience, rather than solely in a classroom setting. His son Brayden is learning alongside him, reflecting Bryan's awareness of the importance of the younger generation in the construction industry. He finds this industry to be both rewarding and essential.

LUXURIOUS LIVING Significance Meets HISTORICAL

BY SOPHIE

In the heart of Brentwood rests the hottest real estate development that’s just hit the block– Primm Farm. The name of this development is a nod to the historic aspect of this property, as it was once home to the historic Owen-Primm House.
This property is one of the most historic aspects of Brentwood, and the development’s tagline describes it best: “Historic Significance Meets Luxurious Living.” It’s not every day a luxury home can be built so close to such a historic part of the community.
Originally, the Owen-Primm House was a log cabin on 44 acres built by Dr. Jabez Owen in 1805 and later expanded with wood framing by Thomas Perkins Primm in 1845. Dr. Jabez Owen was a prominent physician and planter in Brentwood who owned hundreds of acres around Moores Lane, Wilson Pike, and Concord Road. He was also one of the wealthiest men in Williamson County at his death in 1850. In 1988, this property was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The original Owen-Primm House as well as the antebellum slave cabins remain on the property and are rare and unique with the shared fireplace between the buildings.
Now, the rest of this land is dedicated to the Primm Farm development, and when it comes to this beautiful land, Susan Gregory is your go-to girl who will guide you through the steps of making Primm Farm your new home.
“Homesites are approximately half an acre to 1 acre,” Gregory explains. “Small, quaint community with only 24 homesites and convenient to everything.”

“Small, quaint community with only 24 homesites and convenient to everything.”
Due to the smaller size of this community, this neighborhood will introduce the homeowners to a home life filled with peace and quietness, making it easy to unwind at night in their newly built homes in their luxurious neighborhood.
While Middle Tennessee is quickly growing and has become quite the desirable place to call home, Primm Farm sets a precedent of being able to expand and grow as a community while still paying homage to the history and original land that holds a key part in Brentwood’s history.
This development features the immaculate work of three seasoned builders: Arnold Homes, Artisan Custom Homes, and Landon Development. These three builders have already put together stunning blueprints and mockups for the homes that are made up of different shapes and sizes that will one day fill up Primm Farm.
What makes Primm Farm an incredible place to live? The location.
“Location, Location, Location,” Gregory says. “In the heart of Cool Springs and quick access to shopping, restaurants, and highly sought-after Brentwood Schools.”
Primm Farm is centrally located and has easy access to things for household members of all ages, whether that be shopping, going out to eat, or even just enjoying the great outdoors.
Besides the Owen-Primm House and the antebellum slave cabins, there are other historic outbuildings including a 1920 stone springhouse, a frame barn with weatherboard siding from 1920, a frame garage from 1930; a frame shed from 1930.
Construction of Sold homes and speculative market homes will be starting this spring, and Parade Of Homes will be in this community Spring of 2025.
Primm Farm enables its residents to enjoy a life of luxury while also being able to remember the history of the town they live in. Don’t wait and make Primm Farm your new home today! Lots are filling up fast, and this is something you won’t want to miss.

IROQUOIS STEEPLECHASE'S 83RD ANNIVERSARY PRESENTS
EXCITING SPORTING EVENT, HOSPITALITY, SOUTHERN FASHION
ARTICLE BY JULIE BROWN PATTON
Nashville's Rite of Spring is galloping in via the Iroquois Steeplechase on May 11 at Percy Warner Park. Gates at 2500 Old Hickory Boulevard open at 8 a.m. with an anticipated attendance of approximately 25,000 for a fun day of racing, parties, community and fashion.
Tod Marks, contributing editor to the National Steeplechase Association, writes that the race creates an unprecedented onetwo punch for the NSA, with Grade 1 stakes running on consecutive Saturdays. "On May 11, seven days after the Commonwealth Cup, Percy Warner Park in Nashville plays host to the $200,000 Calvin Houghland Iroquois, the centerpiece of the spring calendar. Unlike the Commonwealth Cup, the Iroquois is contested as a weight-for-age event and, at a distance of 3 miles, making it the longest hurdle stakes of the year."
Tod indicates this is the first time the NSA has had back-toback G1s (Grade 1 as the higher designation among two grades) in the spring.
To increase participation from equine owners and national trainers in this two-state racing extravaganza, Tod shares that Tennessee officials bumped up total purses to $475,000, including two $40,000 Sport of Kings maiden special weights hurdles and a $45,000 handicap for horses rated at 120 or less (up from $35,000 last season). Other card highlights include the $75,000 Green Pastures novice stakes and $50,000 Margaret Currey Henley filly and mare stakes.
“We're hoping for our biggest turnout yet,” says Dwight Hall, chairman of the Iroquois Steeplechase Race Committee and 1977 winner. “Our patrons are eager to enjoy a full day of horse racing, food, fashion and music at the beautiful Percy Warner Park. There really is something for everyone out here, and we encourage everyone to purchase tickets and tailgating packages early, as tickets are limited.”
Iroquois Steeplechase participants are reminded to print parking passes at home and display on dashboards. Guests can enjoy innovative food trucks and full-service bars throughout the

grounds for their convenience. Coolers are still allowed but no glass containers, pets, propane grills, pyrotechnics, fireworks, firearms or amplified music. Children 12 and younger are free in the tailgating areas.
SCHEDULE OF RACE DAY:
8 a.m.: RV Tailgating opens.
8:30 a.m.: Inside the track tailgating opens (Topside, Centerfield, Midfield and Railside Tents).
9 a.m.: Stirrup Club tailgating and Family Area tailgating opens.
9:30-11:30 a.m.: Royal 615 Lounge opens for pre-party drinks.
10:30 a.m.: RV and ‘inside the track’ tailgating vehicles must be in place.
11:00 a.m.: Stirrup Club and Family Tailgating vehicles must be in place. Turf Club, Hunt Club and Paddock Club tents open.
Noon: Opening Ceremonies.
1 p.m.: The first race begins.
1:40 p.m.: Race 2 begins.
1:55 p.m.: Stick Horse Race; a time-honored tradition at the Iroquois Steeplechase is watching kids compete in the Michael Stanley Stick Horse Race. Signup is located at the 99.7 WTN Tent in the Family Area.
2:20 p.m.: Race 3 begins.
3 p.m.: Race 4 begins.
3:40 p.m.: Race 5 begins.
3:55 p.m.: Parade of Hounds.
4:20 p.m.: Race 6 begins.
Approximately 5:30 p.m.: Iroquois Society, Paddock Club, Royal 615 and Hunt Club tents close 15 minutes after the final race ends.
Since being designated as one of the Steeplechase-related primary beneficiaries in 1981, Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt has received more than $11 million from The Volunteer State Horsemen's Foundation proceeds. In addition, the organization supports other nonprofits and charities, such as Friends of Warner Parks, and the Foundation for the Horse, whose supporters are dedicated to improving horse health and well-being.

Telling Each Home's Stories
JFY Designs' Professionals Enjoy Décor Treasure Hunts, Eclectic Plans To Delight Clients
Establishing home décor is a fabulous opportunity to create fresh, current personal ambiance while also remaining timeless and flexible, proclaims one Nashville team of full-service interior design experts. The broad range of design and interior services of JFY Designs' professionals can be accessed at Le Studio, 2826 Dogwood Place, in Berry Hill, along with furniture, home accessories, original art and curated gifts.
Marie-Joe Bouffard, Le Studio founder and principal designer, reveals that her driving force is to create classic designs uniquely tailored to each client's story and style. "We enjoy getting to truly know our clients and determining what makes them feel great within their homes," she explains.
"Each JFY Designs' project, no matter its scope, is truly a one-of-kind experience,"
she assures. "We love to think outside of the box and rise to any challenge, but we take the time to listen to our clients and understand them so we can express their true points of view through our custom-designed spaces and homes."
Marie-Joe affirms that bespoke designs, color preferences and the range of sought-after materials or finishes enable them to add innovative personalizing options for family activity hubs.
"A few years ago, cooler decoration tones, such as white and gray, were popular. Now those have shifted to ivory and creams to make cozy, warmer homes. Chocolate brown is probably the strongest color this year so far," she adds.
While Marie-Joe says it's important to stay "in touch with what colors and trends are in," she and her team encourage clients CONTINUED >

“
Our designs help clients feel happy with a great sense of well-being in their homes.

“Each JFY Designs’ project, no matter its scope, is truly a one-ofkind experience,”
to lean into end results that are neither too warm nor too cold. She believes it's best to create a neutral base of furniture and accessories, ones that are meaningful to each client, followed by incorporating pops of accent colors into rooms. She says her go-to base color is greige because it's not too taupe and not too beige.
"This year is a good time to add deepgreen pillows, lush chocolate rugs or jewel-toned accessories into living spaces as ways to freshen already comfortable and desired looks," she states.
She also says artwork can really set the mood in various rooms, so that is a quick option for freshening home vibes. "Art has the power to move us, educate us, provoke us. I cannot imagine my life without art, and I love sharing that passion with my clients."
JFY Designs' stylists do quite a bit of planning and work for newly constructed homes. Marie-Joe says one of the primary motivators in design selections this year is self-care. For example, she's been designing bathrooms with attached infrared saunas. She says she's also been handling outdoor showers and cold plunge setups.
"It's about creating sophisticated spaces that allow people to go in and out seamlessly, as well as to open up large doors for expanded entertaining," she adds.
Because people's homes reflect who they are, Marie-Joe suggests that modern-day interior design focuses on balancing styles and choices that make homeowners happy while still being pleasing to others who visit their homes.
"Most people are concerned about eventually reselling their homes. So, whether someone is an uber minimalist or someone who likes to display multiple collections, we like to design plans that are meaningful to them but still tasteful to others," Marie-Joe says. "One of the facts that make our design team elated is that homeowners often don't have to change much of their interior to put their houses on the market. Homes that we've designed often sell fast and with the furnishings requested and included in the sales."
