It's not about square feet. It's about how you feel, step by step.
Steam. Sauna. Cold rinse. Where you sit. Where the air flows.
How your body moves — and how it rests.
True comfort lives in the details: Lighting. Surfaces. Silence. Warmth.
When design understands the ritual, your space becomes an experience.
August is here—and with it, a final stretch of summer sunshine, spontaneous ice cream runs, and barefoot memories made in backyards and at beaches. It’s a season that reminds us to slow down, soak in the present, and cherish the joy that lives in the little things.
That’s exactly what this issue is all about: the joy. The laughter echoing from the playground. The tail wags that greet us at the door. The sticky popsicle hands wrapped around our fingers. Whether it’s a toddler discovering the thrill of a sprinkler or a golden retriever curling up after a long day of play, there’s something undeniably heartwarming about the bond we share with our little ones—two-legged and four.
Inside these pages, you’ll find stories that celebrate the families and furry friends who make our community so vibrant. From inspiring parents like Little Bipsy’s founder to local pet adoption resources, kid-friendly businesses, and enriching activities at Bellevue Club, our Kids & Pets issue is a tribute to the heart—and heartbeat—of home.
As summer slowly winds down and the back-to-school buzz begins to build, we hope this issue brings a smile to your face and reminds you of what matters most: connection, care, and community. Here’s to one last splash of summer—happy August!

ELEVATED ESSENTIALS, A LOYAL FOLLOWING, AND THE STORY BEHIND LITTLE BIPSY’S RISE
What began as a search for stylish, high-quality basics for her baby boy quickly turned into something much bigger. When Brittani Little couldn’t find children’s clothing that felt both timeless and practical, she decided to create it herself—unintentionally laying the foundation for a brand that would soon capture the hearts of parents across the country. Today, Little Bipsy is a beloved lifestyle brand known for its soft, neutral-toned essentials that blend elevated style with everyday wearability.
Fueled by authenticity and a deep love for family, Brittani has grown her once-homegrown venture into a nationally recognized name—all while raising three kids and staying true to her Pacific Northwest roots.
Bellevue Lifestyle caught up with Brittani to talk about her journey from new mom to founder, the story behind Little Bipsy, and what’s next for the brand.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO LAUNCH LITTLE BIPSY, AND CAN YOU SHARE A BIT ABOUT HOW THE BRAND BEGAN?
The name Little Bipsy came from a heartfelt nickname my late grandfather gave me, one that stuck and now carries so much meaning. The idea for LB really began in 2015, shortly after my son Conor was born. I had just stepped away from a 12-year dental career and started a small at-home hobby called “Conor’s Closet,” where I sold his gently used and unworn clothes on Instagram. Thanks to a clean, modern aesthetic, that little hobby quickly gained traction and sparked an unexpected business journey.
Throughout the early stages of motherhood, I was searching for a style that seemed to not exist and that’s when I took the leap of faith to create it—everyday elevated pieces, easy to mix and match, soft enough for all-day comfort.
ARTICLE BY TAYLOR ROBINSON | PHOTOGRAPHY BY LIFE N LIGHT
In 2017, Little Bipsy officially launched with our Classic Romper, followed by our signature pullover and jogger, our top selling styles that gained organic love for their buttery soft materials and quality that truly lasts.
Now, years later, we’re proud to keep growing while staying true to what we’ve believed in from the beginning: quality, authenticity, and heart.
IN WHAT WAYS DID BECOMING A MOM INFLUENCE THE TYPES OF CLOTHING YOU SET OUT TO CREATE?
When I became a mom, I quickly realized how hard it was to find baby clothes that felt like us, something simple, modern, and actually practical. I wanted pieces that were soft, easy to mix and match, and could hold up to everyday life. That’s really where Little Bipsy started… just wanting better options for my own little guy. And now, here we are!
AS LITTLE BIPSY HAS GROWN INTO A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED BRAND, WHAT MOMENTS HAVE FELT MOST MEANINGFUL TO YOU ALONG THE WAY?
So many moments have been deeply meaningful, but a few stand out. Watching my son Conor take suitcases full of Little Bipsy clothing on his mission trip to share with families in need was incredibly full-circle and emotional. Connecting face-to-face with our community at our warehouse sales, which draw thousands, has shown just how much love and support stands behind the brand.
We’ve been humbled by organic celebrity shoutouts, and it’s always special to see our clothes worn during our customers’ most treasured milestones—first steps, birthdays, first days of school. Knowing we’re part of those memories means everything.

“I was searching for a style that seemed to not exist and that’s when I took the leap of faith to create it—everyday elevated pieces, easy to mix and match, soft enough for all-day comfort.”
We’ve also been honored to give back in meaningful ways, partnering with over 150 organizations worldwide. Being featured in USA Today and receiving the Giveback Award from Providence Hospital and The Puget Sound Business Journal were proud moments. One of the most special initiatives has been launching our Newborn Boxes— every baby born at Providence Hospital receives a gift box with an LB outfit and a handwritten note from our team to support their journey into parenthood.
Through it all, the most meaningful part has been seeing this brand grow into something far bigger than just clothing.
YOUR NEW FALL COLLECTION ARRIVES JUST IN TIME FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL—WHAT ARE A FEW STANDOUT PIECES PARENTS SHOULD HAVE ON THEIR RADAR?
Fall/Winter is hands down my favorite season to design. Being from the PNW, we live in layers, and I love creating pieces that mix and match with ease. This season, we’re leaning into our tried-andtrue styles with updated colorways, some returning favorites, and our signature soft, durable materials. I’m especially excited about our newly designed camo, it’s a fresh take on a classic LB print. You’ll also see flannels, vests making a comeback, and lots of simple layering pieces to get you through the season.
WHERE CAN OUR READERS SHOP THE NEW COLLECTION OR STAY CONNECTED WITH LITTLE BIPSY AS THE BRAND CONTINUES TO GROW?
You can shop Little Bipsy online anytime at littlebipsy. com or visit us in person at our flagship store in downtown Edmonds, WA. To stay connected, follow us on Instagram @little_bipsy.

Susan George is a creative entrepreneur, singer/songwriter, and mother of two. She’s been singing professionally since the age of 14, in 2017 she became a mother, and in 2020 she launched Mediary Marketing, a social media marketing agency that covers everything from content creation, influencer marketing campaigns and e-commerce/social commerce.
Susan’s goal is to show the good and hard parts of pursuing big dreams while balancing family life, and to encourage women to do the same. “Especially right now, we need women speaking up, supporting each other’s businesses, being brave and taking up space. There is so much power in that and anything I can do to help amplify those voices that I feel need to be heard, I’m happy to do it,” says Susan.
“DON’T BELIEVE THE MYTH THAT “YOU CAN DO IT ALL”. FIND YOURSELF A HELPFUL, ACTIVE, PARTNER OR A FANTASTIC NANNY.”
I never thought I would be a business owner outside of managing my music career but once covid hit, I started the agency almost by accident. After diving into personal branding to promote my music, I learned a ton about utilizing social media to market myself outside of Seattle. I honestly didn’t have much of a vision at first besides making some side money, but it’s evolved into wanting to be the go-to agency for creators and brands and utilize our growth to give them more opportunities. Music is still woven into the fabric of what I do, and I love testing out various content strategies on my personal social channels, then using what works well for clients too.
My goals haven’t changed, but the way in which I go after them has changed dramatically. Now success means having the financial and time freedom to show up for my kids the way I want and pursue what is life-giving to me. That definition continues to change as I get older and I think it’s healthy to re-evaluate that in different life stages, as well as give yourself permission to change your mind.
Don’t put a time limit on yourself. There’s no right or wrong. Breaking priorities down into “seasons” has helped me a lot. Don’t believe the myth that “you can do it all”. Find yourself a helpful, active, partner or a fantastic nanny.

For over a century, Seattle Humane has been a pillar of hope for both pets and people across the Puget Sound region. Rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the love of a pet, the organization not only helps animals find their forever homes but also supports families in keeping the pets they already cherish. Through comprehensive community programs, veterinary care, fostering opportunities, and adoption services, Seattle Humane continues to transform lives—one tail wag and purr at a time. We spoke with their team to learn more about their mission, the impact of fostering and adoption, and how you can get involved.
CAN YOU SHARE A BIT ABOUT SEATTLE HUMANE’S MISSION AND HOW IT SUPPORTS BOTH ANIMALS AND LOCAL FAMILIES?
Seattle Humane’s mission is to strengthen the human-animal bond, whether through completing families in our adoption center or keeping pets with the people who love them with our many community programs. We have a world-class veterinary clinic that provides medical services to low-income families and shelter pets, a temporary foster program for people in crisis, education programs, dog training courses, financial assistance funds and a Pet Food Bank that provides nearly a million meals annually to hungry pets in our community.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE WAYS COMMUNITY MEMBERS CAN GET INVOLVED WITH YOUR ORGANIZATION?
It would be impossible for us to do this lifesaving work without the support of our community. Eighty-three percent of our revenue comes from donations, and every department is supported by amazing volunteers helping our team with everything from shelter care to administrative tasks. Fostering is another great way to get involved at Seattle Humane, providing extra TLC to vulnerable pets and freeing up space at the shelter for us to bring in even more cats, dogs and critters in need.
CONTINUED >
WHY IS FOSTERING OR ADOPTING A PET SUCH A MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCE FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN?
The goal whenever a pet enters the shelter is to get them home as quickly as possible. When that doesn’t happen, we turn to our amazing network of foster families to provide muchneeded respite. You will see an incredible improvement in their physical and mental health in a home environment, and we are so grateful to everyone who steps up to help pets on their journeys home. We are in the middle of Kitten Season, and many of these baby cats coming to us will be too young and helpless, needing round-the-clock care in loving foster homes.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE CONSIDERING PET ADOPTION OR FOSTERING FOR THE FIRST TIME?
It’s always important to do your research when looking to adopt or foster and to know what you are willing to take on. Younger dogs will need lots of training and do best with a set routine while older dogs are more predictable but may have greater medical challenges. We encourage adopting kittens in pairs, so they don’t get lonely and can rely on each other for learning things like bite inhibition and positive play. For people considering fostering, sometimes all that is required is basic food, shelter and lots of affection for a pet who is stressed in a shelter environment. There are also those more medically challenged foster pets who need additional care. We encourage people to only volunteer what they feel comfortable taking on – any time outside the shelter makes a big difference.

THE SUPERINTENDENT OF BELLEVUE SCHOOL DISTRICT REFLECTS ON NEW BEGINNINGS, INCLUSIVE CLASSROOMS, AND HIS TRUSTY FOUR-LEGGED SIDEKICKS
ARTICLE BY DR. KELLY ARAMAKI
Dear Bellevue Families,
As we prepare to begin a new school year, I want to extend a warm ‘welcome back’ to each of you. August brings with it not only the excitement of returning to classrooms, seeing friends, and meeting new teachers—it also signals a fresh start, filled with promise, potential, and endless possibilities.
One of the greatest privileges I have as Superintendent is witnessing the incredible brilliance, creativity, and compassion of our students. In the Bellevue School District, we believe that every child belongs, every voice matters, and every student deserves the opportunity to thrive. Whether your student is entering kindergarten, stepping into their final year of high school, or somewhere in between, we are committed to creating learning environments that are joyful, inclusive, and academically rigorous.
This year, we’re focused on strengthening relationships—between students and their teachers, families and schools, and our district with our wider community. We know that students learn best when they feel seen, safe, and supported, and that learning comes to life when it is rooted in strong relationships. We are also focused on innovative learning opportunities for students—from Maritime Welding at Interlake to Glass Blowing at Sammamish to career-connected internships at Big Picture School.
Finally, since this is the Kids & Pets issue, I’d like to take a moment to shout out my two best friends/rescue pups – Maggie and Prosser. These two rascals bring me unconditional love and affection. They don’t judge me for any decisions I make (unless I feed them late). And they protect me with such fierce loyalty from every other human being, dog, or rabbit. In a job as complicated as superintendent…I’m thankful for Maggie and Prosser. (I apologize to all of my Bellevue neighbors who have ever been aggressively barked at by my dogs while on a walk.)
To learn more about all of the innovative things happening in our district and to get relevant back-to-school updates, visit us at bsd405.org. Let’s make this school year the best yet here in Bellevue!
With excitement, Dr. Kelly Aramaki

THROW A PAWSOME BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR YOUR FURRY FRIEND
Create delightful DIY party favors for your dog guests by filling small bags or boxes with goodies. Include a tennis ball for playtime fun and a selection of treats for them to enjoy. You can also add a small toy or chew for variety. These favors ensure that every pup goes home happy and tired from all the play and treats.
Keep the human guests happy with a creative Treat Station for Owners. Use brand new, clean dog food bowls as serving dishes for snacks like chips, pretzels, and candies. Arrange the bowls on a table with a festive tablecloth and some dog-themed decorations. Label each bowl with fun names like “Puppy Chow” for trail mix or “Doggie Biscuits” for cookies.
A birthday party isn’t complete without a cake, even for dogs! To make a dog-friendly birthday cake, start with ingredients like peanut butter, bananas, and carrots. Mix 1 cup of flour, 1/4 cup of rolled oats, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of cinnamon in one bowl. In another bowl, blend 1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce, 1/4 cup of peanut butter, 1 mashed banana, and 1/2 cup of grated carrots. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then pour the batter into a greased cake pan. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes. Let it cool, then frost with a mixture of Greek yogurt and peanut butter. Decorate with dog treats and serve to your excited pup!
