Limestone Coast dominates State titles Three local associations bring back plenty of silverware from SA Country Championships The Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Netball Association has gone one better than last year be claiming the 2022 SA Country Championships senior title with a strong victory over fellow Limestone Coast association the Mid South East Netball Association. The KNTNA (pictured top left) lost the 2021 decider by one goal in the dying 10 seconds to another crosstown rival, the Western Border Netball Association, who was unable to field a side in the recent championships due to work commitments and injury. But the Knights left nothing to chance in the 2022 decider as coach Georgia Cadzow masterminded the demise of the Mid South East. Once again, across the senior competition, and the 17; 15 & 13 and Under, the three Limestone Coast based associations filled many of the major placings. The 17 & Under title again went the way of Western Border (pictured below right), who went through the competition undefeated for a third successive championships, holding the highly rated Riverland lineup to only three goals in the second half to turn a tight goal for goal contest into a one-sided decider in the final 15 minutes. The Mid South East secured two players in the Carnival Top 10 with Robe’s Annie Hunter and Tantanoola’s Emma Gould (pictured below), securing the nod from thier peers. Former Western Border representative Tenille Gray, who was representing Great Southern at the 2022 titles, maintained her long standing inclusion in the Carnival Top 10.
