Our well-being depends not only on the physical body but also on our energy, emotional and mental bodies. Our physical body is affected by our energy body which is influenced by our emotions and thoughts.

There is a systematic way and a very empowering process to balance all the four layers of life. If we become aware and understand the empowering process, implement it in a right way in our life, then we will be able to balance all our four layers. We can learn to clear blocks we didn’t know we had, heal past wounds and can improve our overall

life experience.

The real change or transformation works at all the four layers of our existence: Mind, Body, Heart and Energy.

We as human beings have more power over what happens in our life than we realize. We can acquire that power just by learning about the internal framework of our being and implementing it in our life. To have more power and clarity in life, let’s understand the four basic layers of our existence.

1. Physical Body: The physical body is the basis of our existence. We survive and thrive in this world through our physical layer. We need to understand it, maintain it and take good care of it. We need to develop connection with our physical body.

2. Etheric or Energy Body: Energy body is the core part of us that exists beyond time and space. It connects us with the universal energy and unity or oneness of all. Developing awareness as spiritual or energy being gives us deeper meaning and purpose in our life. It broadens our perspective and provides us with a base for evolvement of other layers of our existence.

3. Emotional Body: Emotional layer refers to our ability to experience life deeply and it seeks meaningful connection with others. In-depth awareness of emotional layer can intensify our human experience, with self-love, acceptance, fulfilment in relationship with others and the universe around.

4. Mental Body: Mental layer refers to our intellect, our ability to think and reason. It consists of thoughts, beliefs, our values and attitude. Awareness of this layer can bring us profound understanding and it can be the greatest gift.

To find balance and fulfilment in our life we need to understand, balance and integrate all these four layers within ourselves. These four layers are interrelated and any work we do on one layer will have an impact on the other layers as well. Each one of us is on our unique path of our evolutionary journey. As life is a school, we are all going through the process of growth and learning. If you watch carefully around, everyone has different levels of perception. This is simply due to the difference in awareness level and personal experience of each layer of human existence.

Each one of us differs from each other either at emotional, mental, energetic or physical level. There are other aspects as well but these four are the key aspects. Our Four Layers and Deep Desires Each one of us has some deep desires, which are very pure, it can be anything like travelling the world, experiencing nature, experiencing true love, guiding or mentor people, creating music, writing books, helping others, making others happy and so on. These desires do not relate to what you are doing for survival or to make both ends meet.

These desires drive us and are beyond survival. These desires have some bigger share of the soul’s purpose and getting in touch with these deep desires is like connecting with core of self. If you supress or ignore them, then you might feel a void within, or unfulfilled or empty, no matter how successful you are. Below is a quote from the Upanishad:

“You are what your deep, driving desire is.

As your desire is, so is your will.

As your will is, so is your deed.

But to fulfill your deep desires, it always require a change in you. The real change has to come from deep within and when we try to make change in one or two aspects, it will be superficial and won’t give any stable results. If mind, body, emotions and energy are not aligned, it will create an imbalance and a war like situation within oneself. You might be doing something, but thinking of something else, which indicates that you are ignoring certain aspect of yourself. This way, you are involved in certain type of conflict within and have to face its consequences every moment. It is a kind of war in which you are engaged. You are engaged in a battle every moment of life because you have to confront something. Most of us are living life in confusion and expecting something big or magical to change our life.
