The IACS is continuing to succeed. We held many incredible events, including the second Annual Ferragosto Festival at the IACS. The event took place on our grounds, and we had a terrific turnout; I was so glad to see many IACS members, family, friends and supporters from all around the community, come out and celebrate Ferragosto.

There was plenty of fun for the young ones including an inflatable slide, Face paint, A huge blowup soccer target and so much more. Thank you to Mike Biondo from Décor Statuette, who was so generous to donate the Blessed Mother statue, which is the symbol of the Ferragosto Festival. We ended the night with a spectacular firework show. Once again, I would like to thank the wonderful staff of the IACS, all volunteers and all who attended the event to make it successful.

Again, I would like to thank everyone for their continuing support and presence at all our events. These events will keep carrying on our Italian traditions as they encourage us to come together and be a strong community, and as always fulfill Caviler Ramo Salerno’s wish.

Do you feel like it was just Memorial Day, the start of beautiful Spring days, and here we’re up to Labor Day, the start of the Fall and Holiday season to soon be upon us.

Well seniors, we have a busy, fun last quarter of 2022 ahead. Each month we are fortunate enough to be sponsored by area generous facilities.

September 7th is our annual indoor picnic, with lunch, games, and prizes. Tickets are $14. If you’re not already reserved, please call me, Esther at (586)286-2597 to purchase ticket to attend ASAP.

Our October 5th meeting will be featuring a delicious breakfast served before the meeting. Our sponsor is our great friends of Villa Bella Senior Living.

November 2nd is our new friends from Pine Ridge and the medical team who already

IACS Banquet Server Staff Olympics

Our fifth annual IACS Banquet Server Staff Olympics took place this past month, which included a variety of contests and challenges from our banquet staff here at IACS.

Servers were divided into a few teams to compete for over $200.00 in gift cards and bragging rights of course. Teams had several tasks to compete in including a

guest scenario, a room setup challenge, a tray carrying relay, and a table rolling obstacle course. In fact, servers even had to take a written timed test titled, “How Well do You Know

the IACS?”. The team scores were neck in neck throughout the Olympics, but in the end, Team Alessio came out on top. Alessio Destasi, Olivia GravesPichla, Kaydee Heasley, Amelia

Milovski, and Joey Scaglione all contributed to the team’s victory. Congratulations to Team Alessio and to all of the servers here at IACS!

Mangiabevi Urban Italian

Executive Chef and Brand Creator, Mauro Querio, and General Manager, Steven (Stefano) Pecoraro, will show you their modern yet classic take on Italian cuisine in an Urban setting. Offering different “experiences” throughout the dining room and lounge. They opened the Restaurant in December 2020 during the second COVID-19 shut down. They were able to

open the door as of February 1st 2021 and allow dining room seating. Through the passed year and a half they have designed and opened two banquet rooms with a private bar. When combined can accommodate up to 75 people comfortably. During the summer hours they offer patio seating aside a garden area. Whether you want to enjoy a drink in the bar or have a full evening of food and wine, Mangiabevi will be the go-to spot foryour evening out.

Born in Monfalcone, Italy, Chef Mauro brings years of Kitchen experience. Having worked in Italy and the Detroit (Italian) food scene since coming to the US in the early 90’s. His love and passion for food are what brought him to the kitchen. He is self-trained but has confirmed his skills

and passion while working and consulting to many exclusive local Restaurants. Chef Mauro wants you to not only come to MB to eat but to experience different aspects of the “night out”. “We want you to feel like you’re going home to eat but I do the cooking” ~Chef Mauro

Born and Raised in Detroit, Stefano has worked in every aspect of the Restaurant business for twenty plus years. He grew up with a heavily influenced European background. Cooking alongside both grandmothers, he learned many things from his German/Polish Grandmother and Sicilian Grandmother. He found love for food and Italian culture while spending summers in Sicily. He moved to Sicily while in college with focus on a major in the Italian language. When he returned, he went to school and received a degree in CulinaryArts. He ultimately decided that though he loved to cook, entertaining and customer service was his passion. Like Chef Mauro, Stefano wants you to feel at home and part of the family.

Mangiabevi is located alongside Ventimiglia Italian Foods just north of 15 mile road on Dodge Park. They were just voted “Best Italian Restaurant” by ClickonDetroit Channel 4. Proud grandmother of Gino, Hailey, Dante Esposito, Alexandra, Gregory and Isabella Pine. Predeceased by her parents Donato and Rosaria Olivo. Dear sister of Carlo (Maria) Olivo and the late Lino and Mario Olivo. Franca was born and raised in Soveria Simeri, Italy in 1943. She met her husband Gino in 1964, when he was visiting his grand mother in their hometown. He was driving through town when he saw a woman sweeping her balcony and fell in love at first sight. The following morning they were introduced at church and married ten days later. They had their first child, Sammy, in 1965 when she began her life not only as a mother, but also as his care taker. Her second son, Paul was

born in 1966. He married his wife, Heather, who gave Franca three beautiful grandchildren - Gino, Hailey, and Dante. Her daugh ter, Rose Ann, was born in 1969 and married Dr. Greg Pine. They gave Franca three more wonder ful grandchildren - Alexandra, Gregory, and Isabella. She loved spending summers at the lake house in Lexington with her fam ily and friends. She spent many winters in Aruba with Gino and Sammy. Franca always loved a good party with music and danc ing. Her favorite moments were those spent cooking and enjoying time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

IN LOVING MEMORY Decd. August 16, 2022 Age 78

Vincenza Spinelli was born Nov. 29th, 1939 in Falerna, a small town in Italy in the province of Catanzaro. She emigrated to the US with her son Greg in 1966 and moved to Michigan in 1969. Mrs. Spinelli was warm and car ing with many interests and pas sions. At a young age she learned to sew that later turned into her lifelong vocation. After arriving in Michigan, she worked briefly as a seamstress for Winkelman’s department store and later on as a sewing machine operator for the Ford Motor Co at the Chesterfield trim plant. Mrs. Spinelli loved her job along with the close friends she made and retired in 2003 af ter 33 years. In her retirement Mrs. Spinelli travelled a lot visit ing her family in Italy and her 3 Brothers and 2 Sisters in Austra lia. She was also an avid gardener and the local "green grocer" hand delivering fresh vegetables grown in her garden to neighbors. This brought her great joy. Her friends and neighbors appreciated her generosity and ready advice from sewing, baking or canning. Mrs. Vincenza Spinelli left us on July 8th 2022 after a long illness. She is survived by her son Greg and daughter-in-law Cathy Spinelli. Although she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the memories of all her Family and Friends.

portare in barca? Contattate Andrea alla Corricella: tel. 3393025460.

I 600-700 detenuti, tutti maschi, tessevano i corredi poi venduti nell'isola.

Delizioso!

Creje: abiti, costumi, borse, parei.

Dove dormire e mangiare a Procida

Calacala rooms&apartments

Diverse case sono state evacuate.

compagna Myrta Merlino e Giorgio Armani.
