Ben Aigamaua has been under Head Coach Hugh Freeze’s tutelage in a variety of forms during his collegiate career, both as a player and coach. Aigamaua played football at Lambuth from 2006-09, including the 2008 and 2009 seasons when Freeze was the program’s head coach. Aigamaua was a starting defensive tackle for four years and served as team captain from 2007-09. He earned All Mid-South Conference honors in 2006 and 2007.
Aigamaua served as an offensive graduate assistant from July 2011 to May 2012 at Arkansas Tech. He also worked as a defensive graduate assistant at Lambuth from January 2010 to June 2011. While at Lambuth, Aigamaua also served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Aigamaua, who joined Liberty’s staff as a tight ends coach in 2019, followed Freeze to Ole Miss and was a part of the Rebels staff from 2012-18. During the
FLAMES FLASHBACK: 2019 AND 2020 SEASON REVIEW • Aigamaua’s tight ends have played a vital role in Liberty winning back-to-back FBC Mortgage Cure Bowl titles in 2019 and 2020. • With the pair of Cure Bowl victories, Liberty became the second FBS transitioning team in NCAA history to win consecutive bowl games during its first two full seasons at the FBS level. • Liberty finished the 2020 season with a 10-1 record and ranked No. 17 in the final Associated Press poll, its highest end-of-the-year national ranking in program history. • Liberty finished the 2020 season ranked No. 12 in first down offense (273 first downs), No. 15 nationally in total offense (482.7 yards per game), and No. 16 in scoring offense (38.2 points per game). • As a group, Liberty’s tight ends finished the 2020 season with 33 receptions for 351 yards and eight touchdowns. • Aigamaua helped former Colorado wide receiver Johnny Huntley transition to tight end during the 2019 season, and he has finished the last two years with 26 receptions, 297 receiving yards, and four touchdowns. • In 2019, Huntley finished the season with 11 receptions for 196 yards, including a 57-yard touchdown reception during Liberty’s Cure Bowl win over Georgia Southern. • While helping the Flames to their second Cure Bowl win in a row, Huntley finished the 2020 season with 15 receptions for 201 yards and three touchdowns. • Huntley was one of 16 Flames named to the Phil Steele FBS Independent All-Conference teams in 2020. • As a group, Liberty’s tight ends finished the 2019 season with 26 receptions for 394 yards and seven touchdowns. • Tight end Zac Foutz ranked second on Liberty’s roster with three touchdown receptions in 2019. • Foutz exploded for a banner year in 2019, finishing the season with 13 receptions for 146 yards and three touchdowns. • Entering his senior season, Foutz had recorded 16 career receptions for 186 yards and two touchdowns in 28 career games played. • Liberty finished the 2019 season ranked No. 21 nationally in passing yards per game (288.9) and No. 32 in total offensive yards per game (439.4).
