Alumnae Newsletter Your Updates LGGS Alumna at the West End LGGS is pleased to congratulate Louisa McClintock on becoming the youngest person to ever work as movement director at the National Theatre. After attending LGGS and going on to drama school, Louisa went on to work under Emma Rice in Wuthering Heights and shadowed Rachel O’Riordan in Romeo and Julie at the National Theatre. She has since gone one to work as the assistant movement director for Accidental Death of an Anarchist, which transferred from the Lyric Hammersmith into the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a long run in the West End. Well done, Louisa! LGGS is very proud of you!
LGGS Alumna on Tour! In Spring 2023, Kira Browne set off on a cycling tour around Italy, France, and Spain. “I chose my own tour of countries where I spoke the language,” she said, “having loved Spanish and French A level classes at LGGS so much that I went on to study languages at Durham University.” Despite not doing any training beforehand, she set off from Palermo, Italy, and arrived in Castello, Valencia, 103 days later. “I wild camped and stayed with both friends and people I didn't know who offered to host me. I battled strong headwinds, climbed hills I didn't think I could, pushed my bike up rocky terrain that Google Maps thought would be suitable, and realised that I could overcome any challenges I faced along the way if I kept trying! I had a rough route in mind, but chose where to head for each day, meaning that when I was in the south of France I made sure to pass through Perpignan... I felt like a bit of a traitor to Aalborg, my LGGS house, but it was a bit too far to reach on this trip!” Congratulations, Kira; your adventure sounds exhilarating - and we wish you the very best in your PGCE.
