Are you a star baker of bookthemed cakes in the making?!
Consider signing up to bake a Myths & Legends themed cake to help us celebrate WBD 25 and to raise money for Book Trust UK. You may sign up individually or in pairs and you must provide all allergy information for your bake on the sign up form, along with a title for your bake. Once you have been confirmed as a baker, you commit to bringing in a cake to leave in Centenary Hall by 8.40 am on the day. After judging, you will be required to staff your stall at the lunchtime bake sale. There will be a winner and two runner up prizes.

Whether you are a complete beginner to origami or a bit of an expert, book yourself onto our fun workshop where some talented students will talk you through the steps to create your own origami mythical creature. All materials provided.

What mythical guises have our LGGS staff and teachers chosen this World Book Day? You must find the 5 participating teachers around school on the day and guess their character from myth or legend based on their outfit.

Bit of a current affairs buff? What about when it comes to the worlds of myth and legend? Do you know your Hercules from your Hades, your Loki from your Lofn? You must sign up in teams of 4, no more, no less. Teams can be a mix of year groups. Prizes worthy of Aladdin’s Cave await the winners!

All proceeds will go to LGGS Library to buy new resources for students.
No need to sign up, just come along and grab yourself a brilliant bargain.
Prices range from 30p to £3, or £5 for some of our epic book bundles!
You must be in KS3 to enter. Your bookmark must relate to LGGS and reading, and can link to WBD 2025 Myths & Legends theme if you wish.
Both text and drawings are encouraged. Designs must be done on the template using any art materials you like. A selection of entries will be made into bookmarks to give to new Year 7 students on their July taster day. Prizes will be awarded to one winner and two runners up.

We award achievement points and prizes for the most creative and best effort outfits! You may well go down in LGGS history with your photo in The Chronicle! The key is to think of a specific story, poem or play in which your chosen creature or person has been represented. Dress up is of course optional but if you want to get into the LGGS spirit and dress up for charity, it makes for a very fun day!
