COVID-19 REOPENING PLAN AMENDMENTS FOLLOWING APRIL 2021 NYS DOH GUIDANCE

This document describes the changes made to the Lycée Français de New York's (Lycée) Reopening Plan as filed with the NYS DOH on August 21, 2020. These changes, effective as of April 26, 2021 and valid until the end of the 2020-2021 school year, are made based on the new instructions released by NYS (NYS Interim Guidance) on April 10, 2021.

1. Reopening of School Facilities for In-person Instruction Instruction in the Primary School ● The campus of the Pre-School and Elementary School will be open from Monday to Thursday for four full days of in-person instruction each week. In addition, the Preschool welcomes students on Fridays for half-day in-person instruction. ● Classroom occupancy as follows: ○ 1st and 2nd grades, no changes: 10 students per pod seated 6-ft apart; ○ Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade: At each grade level, we are combining 2 pods for a total of 18 to 20 students per classroom, seated 3-ft apart when in class. ● In the Elementary School, Friday learning takes place entirely online and is reserved for special subjects, including art, music and science classes. Occasional assemblies and other activities also take place this day in both live and some pre-recorded sessions. ● The Lycée's optional fully online track for all primary school students continues through the remainder of the school year

Lunches ● No changes for 1st and 2nd grades ● 3rd-, 4th- and 5th-grade students will have a cold lunch in the cafeteria, seated 6-ft apart ● For Nursery, pre-K and Kindergarten, a cold lunch is eaten in the classroom, alternating half of class at time to maintain 6-ft physical distancing Drop Off and Pick Up ● Drop off and pick up remain staggered by grades through 4 different entrances to the building.

Parents-guardians drop off their children at the door, and teachers bring their students to the classroom by class.

Instruction in the Secondary ● No changes to our existing plan in the Secondary.

Revised plan was presented to all Primary-School families on Wednesday, April 21, and goes into effect on Wednesday, April 28.

2. Monitoring of Health Conditions Daily Health Screening The Lycée continues to enforce the daily health screening described in the reopening plan (pp 9-11). This health check requires students and employees entering the building to complete a survey each day to determine: ● Whether the individual is exhibiting signs or symptoms potentially related to Covid-19 ● Whether the individual has tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 10 days ● Whether the individual has been in contact with someone who has tested positive or exhibited symptoms potentially related to Covid-19 in the past 10 days ● Whether the individual has traveled outside of NYS, any state contiguous to NYS, or internationally over the last 10 days Travel Quarantines The Lycée protocol travel quarantine is aligned with NYS-NYC DOH requirements.

Physical Distancing ● Primary classrooms and cafeteria The Lycée's in-person instructional model has been amended as follows: ○ Reduction of physical distancing requirements to a minimum of 3ft between students in classroom settings, while continuing all mitigation measures; ○ Maintaining 6ft of distance between teachers and students in all classrooms; ○ Maintaining 6ft of distance between students while eating lunch in the cafeteria (see above).

Lycée Français de New York Amendments to Covid-19 Reopening Plan

● Rest of the Building All measures described in the Lycée's Reopening Plan (pp 12-14) remain in place: ○ Non-instructional schedules limit occupation of floors/offices; ○ Circulation in hallways avoids traffic flows crossing each other; ○ Employee arrival times are staggered.

Other Measures All other health and safety measures described in the Lycée's Reopening Plan (pp 9-15) remain in place: ● Hand-washing and sanitizing, as well as containment of respiratory secretions will continue to be encouraged (pp 11-13) ● Use of personal protective equipment: mask-wearing in any shared spaces continues to be mandated (pp 14-15) ● Signage throughout the building remains in place and updated in the classrooms to remind all to follow our health and safety requirements.

Weekly Pooled Testing ● In January, 2021, the Lycée introduced weekly pooled testing with a certified laboratory, such that 100% of the adult and student population entering our buildings is tested each month. ● Each week, once the results come back from the laboratory, suspected cases are confirmed via individual PCR testing. Diagnosed individuals as well as their "close contacts" are subject to the Lycée's Covid-19 Case Protocol, which follows NYS-DOH guidelines. ● This protocol will remain in place for the duration of the school year, if not longer.

Management of ill persons The Lycée will continue to implement its protocol per our reopening plan (pp 21-22): ● Isolation of individuals feeling/suspected of being ill ● Preliminary assessment by Health Office ● Potential pickup/return home of the individual ● Potential requirement of a physician's note or negative PCR test to allow return to the building.

3. Containment of Potential Transmission of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) The Lycée will continue to follow CDC and NYSDOH recommendations, per our reopening plan (pp 21-24): ● Confirmed cases and "close contacts" quarantine, per the Lycée's Covid-19 Protocol; ● Primary students are assigned desks spaced 3-ft apart, with clear demarcations. Classroom layouts are shared with Health Office for contact-tracing purposes; ● Areas suspected of contamination are closed off until our thorough cleaning/disinfection protocol has been implemented; ● Outside air circulation and enhanced ventilation remains in place throughout the building. ● Rigorous cleaning/disinfection protocol remains in place. ● Case communication plan remains in place. ● Reporting of positive cases to NYS DOH; Lycée Français de New York Amendments to Covid-19 Reopening Plan

● Implementing our Covid-19 case protocol for all diagnosed cases.

4. Closure of school facilities and in-person instruction, if necessitated by widespread virus transmission In the event of widespread virus transmission, the Lycée may modify its operations, under the guidance of NYS and/or NYC DOH including partial or full building closure and transition to Online Lycée, our fully online program, for affected grades or divisions.
