Wilde-Pedique Toenail reconstruction suitable for both male and female clients comes in a variety of colours from natural to glossy pink. What is Wilde Pedique? It’s an extremely elastic UV gel (one component Acrylester resin) which when exposed to LED light sets. LCN Wilde Pedique was developed specifically for corrective and restorative toe nail treatments. The gel resin has the ability to bond to a surface, add strength and harden with a glossy finish, whilst at the same time adapting to the movements of the toe due to its flexibility. The results can be achieved even on callus layers of skin - very suitable where a toenail is missing or damaged or in the case where a nail has surgically been removed or an unsightly regrowth; thus effective on scaly nail surfaces as it can conceal ridges and deformations and hide discolouration (in the case of fungal nails). The Wilde Pedique gel once applied and cured will essentially look like and cut like a regular toe nail. It is an ideal solution for those clients who are looking for a cosmetically pleasing look and at the same helping stopping the snagging of the nail and possible infection. It does need refilling every 6/8 weeks until the nail is grown fully.

Question1. What are the characteristics of Wilde Pedique that make it perfect for toenail reconstruction? Wilde Pedique silver plus is a highly flexible UVGel, containing the AM factor Prioctone Olamin and micro crystaline silver which has an antibacterial effect. This gel adjusts optimally to the movements of the toenail or toe, as the skin consists of collagen fibres, which are highly elastic due to their structure. Question 2. UV Cured materials have poor adhesion to skin so how does the product adhere to the ex-posed skin of the nail bed? Our skin consists of several layers: Corneal layer, dermis etc., which in turn consist of collagen fibres. Collagen consists of single long collagen molecules (protein chains ie. correctly amino acid chains) who form a left-handed Helix (similar to the PalyprolineII-Helix). In each case three of these Helices are arranged in a right-handed superhelix, the actual collagen. This tripleet helix is stabilized in between the individual strands by hydrogen bonds. In the collagen fibres there is a often repeated sequency motive GlycinProlin-Hydroxyprolin. Whereby the Hydroxyprolin f.e. carries an OH-group which is suitable for hydrogen bond linkage. this Gel, a bonding via the corneal layer ie. dermis is achieved. Question 3. Many now have a problem with HEMA , what does LCN use instead? LCN uses a different monomer to adjust the viscosity of this product and to maintain additional OH-groups at the same time. WILDE PEDIQUE silver plus is Hema free. Question 4. Such products should not touch the skin, how does LCN approach this issue? We are only using raw materials that are allowed to be used for this very special cosmetic application according to the Cosmetics Regulation. Should there be a change in this regulation, ie. are substances calssified differently, LCN immediately adjusts its products accordingly and has them widely tested in their Trainer Salons. 5. What is the optimum time for removal and reapplication? Does using an opaque product change this? The colour of the product is irrelevant. It all depends on the growth rate of the toe nail.
