1. The HSE & Oversight Portfolio ensures that TNPA complies with the national HSE regulatory requirements and exercises HSE oversight within Port limits.

2. To drive a safety culture within port system.

3. To assist in the prevention of human injury and/or loss of life.

4. Ensure provision and maintenance of a fit and healthy workforce.

5. To prevent pollution and protect the environment.

6. To facilitate the implementation of the Integrated Management System.

7.To provide adequate fire fighting and emergency services.

8.To provide assurance to the Chief Executive (CE) as the Section 16.2 appointee of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

TNPA HSE SYSTEMS

• TNPA is committed to maintaining the highest Health, Safety and Environmental standards for all employees, tenants, visitors, contractors, and port users.

• The Transnet Integrated Management System (TIMS), seeks to integrate management systems such as Health, Safety, Environment, Risk, Security, and Quality, into business processes to ensure compliance with national, international and regulatory requirements, while enabling TNPA to work as a single unit with a unified objective through one complete framework.

• There are three HSEQ management systems which TNPA subscribes to; ISO 45001, an international standard specifying requirements for an occupational health and safety management system, enables TNPA to proactively improve its OHS performance in preventing human injury or loss of life and ill health. ISO 14001, is an Environmental Management System, which ensures that TNPA follow strict environmental requirements to
