to‌ SUMMER at the MOUNT FREE, fun and creative activities return to the Mount Pavilion in Fleetwood. This beautiful building hosts a selection of creative sessions, during the school Summer holidays. Sessions range from Mad Hatters, to Mosaics, to Street Dance and Movement; another opportunity to be creative in this fantastic series of workshops LeftCoast is a not for profit organisation dedicated to bringing amazing arts to Blackpool and Wyre. We work hard to secure funding to bring workshops to The Mount, but we need your help to make sure that these can continue. Although the workshops are free, a donation from you will help us to develop and continue to bring great creative activities to Fleetwood.

Alice in Wonderland Themed Crafts Thursday August 4 // 1-4pm Friday August 5 // 1pm-4pm Sarah Hicks Art will be joining us with two days of Alice in Wonderland themed craft activities. The Mount will be transformed into the magical world of the rabbit hole, full of larger than life characters. Join us for all the fun of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at the Mount. Although Friday’s session will follow on from the first session, you can decide to join us for one or both days as there will be new and different activities on both days. NOTE: There will be two 75 minute sessions for this workshop. Session one will start at 1pm and session two will start at 2.30pm. Suitable for ages 3 years+

Urban Dance Workshop Friday August 12 // 1-4pm Skool of Street return to the Mount with their ever popular workshops teaching all things urban. If you’re into hip hop dance, urban theatre or drama, this is the place for you! NOTE: There will be two 75 minute sessions for this workshop. Session one will start at 1pm and session two will start at 2.30pm Suitable for all ages and abilities. Please bring a drink to this session. Skool of Street host a weekly urban dance workshop at The Mount Pavilion on Tuesday’s from 6.15pm – 7.30pm £5 per person for ages 6 years+
Mosaic Panel Making Friday August 19 // 1-4pm Shane Johnstone introduces you to the ancient craft of mosaic using vitreous glass tiles, modern grid techniques and a huge range of colours. Easy & fun workshop to make and take home a mosaic panel that you can install anywhere. You could make an timeless artwork that could last for a thousand years. NOTE: There will be two 75 minute sessions for this workshop. Session one will start at 1pm and session two will start at 2.30pm Suitable for ages 5 years+

Crazy Cardboard Creatures Thursday August 25 // 1-4pm Come and join Tina Dempsey to create your own crazy cardboard creature! There are lots of different materials to experiment with so come and have a go NOTE: There will be two 75 minute sessions for this workshop. Session one will start at 1pm and session two will start at 2.30pm Suitable for all age groups and abilities.
Wool Weaving Friday August 26 // 1-4pm Everyone is welcome at the wonderful wool weaving workshop with Tina! All the materials are provided so just turn up and enjoy. NOTE: There will be two 75 minute sessions for this workshop. Session one will start at 1pm and session two will start at 2.30pm Suitable for all age groups and abilities and help is always on hand.

VOLUNTEER Due to the success of our workshops at The Mount, we are now looking for volunteers to help us with these sessions. You may be a parent or grandparent who already brings their child/grandchild to our children’s workshops, someone who is interested in working with artists or someone who wants to give back to the community. If any of these sound like you and you are interested in getting more involved, we would love you to sign up to be one of our volunteers. No experience is necessary, the only thing that we ask is that you are over 18 years old. RESTORATION The Mount Pavilion and Gardens is currently undergoing a revival as Wyre Council restore the seaward side of the Grade II registered gardens to their original 19th century design. A bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund to transform the landward side including pavilion, rose garden and gate lodge is also being developed. For more information www.wyre.gov.uk/themount
