Q:Can you tell us a little about yourself. A: Sure. My name is Sayoko Ozaki obviously, but many of my family members and friends know me as Osayo. I was born on December 20th, 1989 in Sanmu, Chiba, Japan. I moved to Tokyo at the age of 17 to pursue my love of Gyaru and to try and become a model. I have one pet, a cute shiba inu named Mochiko. I love horror movies!

Q: What’s it like being the face of various Gyaru magazines? A: It’s amazing really, when I was younger I never would have expected that’d I would have the oppurtunity to do things like this- it really is a lot of fun.
Q: What got you into Gyaru? A: I tended to read a lot of gyaru magazines as a teenager- Egg, Blenda, Happie Nuts, Soul Sister to name a few. I picked up my styles from there- and trust me I went through a TON of substyles. I finally found what worked best for me and I ran with it.
Q: What is your style? A: I’m more Onee than any other substyle of Gyaru. But again I’ve tried quiet a few of the substyles.

Q: What’s a substyle that you haven’t tried before that you would like to? A: Probably Fairy Kei or Pastel Goth! Fairy Kei is very bright and colorful with youthful designs whereas Pastel Goth is more muted but dark. Unfortunately I think I’m getting too old to try those styles!
Q: Any tips for our readers? A: BE YOURSELF! Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do in Gyaru. There are a lot of bullies within the world of Gyaru- they are women who don’t want to see their peers grow. Don’t be afraid to try new things. Never regret any choices you’ve made. Be happy with yourself- it doesn’t matter what others think as long as you are confident in what you do. Shine, and maybe someday I’ll be doing a photoshoot with one of you!
