Secret Book Exchange: Wrap a book in plain brown paper and write the first sentence of the book on the wrapping. We’ll then select a book based on that first sentence. Book Drive: Working with Community Outreach, we’ll be collecting new or gently used books to donate to charity. As always, there will be a craft and photo booth. You are also welcome to dress up as your favorite book character. You can even gather some friends and dress as several characters from the same book. We’re sure to have loads of fun, see you there!

A.C.E. Night—Night Circus

Annual Charity Event—Night Circus 2020 is here and with that brings LCSC’s Annual Charity Event (A.C.E.). You’ll hear this event referred to as A.C.E. Night most of the time. This year’s theme for A.C.E. Night is Night Circus. Some folks have already started to plan their costumes, have you? Will you wear your best tails and top hat or maybe you’ll be dressed as an acrobat? You can dress in themed attire or your best for the evening. As long as you plan for a good time, fun will be had! The procurement committee, even though they still need a chair, is already working hard to get great donations for our Live and Silent Auctions that will be held at the event. If you have a business you frequent, consider asking them if they are interested in donating toward our event. Monies earned from the item donations go toward welfare grants to local, charitable, non-profit organizations who support our service members, veterans, and families. Our largest donations provide scholarships for deserving military children and spouses. This event is not possible without the help of our talented members. April, our A.C.E. Night Chair this year, is still looking for volunteers to assist with set up, games, and organizing auction processes. The event will be held off-post in Lakewood this year. The goal is to get not just our military community to attend but also the civilian community that surrounds JBLM. If you are not able to help with a committee, it would be wonderful for you to share the mission of A.C.E. Night and invite folks to join in on the fun. Remember anyone, military or not, is welcome to attend this fun event! Contact April with any questions you have regarding volunteering for or attending this event. Looking for something to do with all of your left over ribbon, tissue paper, and baskets from the holidays? The A.C.E. Night Silent Auction committee is looking for donations of new or gently used ribbon, tissue paper, baskets, and small boxes to make the baskets look fabulous. Donations will be accepted at luncheons thru February or arrangements can be made for pickup. We are also looking for people to help craft these amazing baskets. Contact Nicole by phone, 360-280-8820, or email if you’d like to help.

LCSC has many great Sub Clubs to join to help you connect with others of similar interests. Check out a few of the highlights to the right! Please email our sub club chair if you are interested in joining any sub club or check out the links below. The evening book club has made their book selections through January. Polls for the February and March books are posted on the Facebook group.

Wine Club attendees got their fill of bubbles in December. They learned to open a bottle with a saber and enjoyed yummy treats. Attend January’s event to see if boxed and canned wine isn’t all that bad.

Applications are open for high school seniors, students continuing education and spouses. The fund awards scholarships to those working toward their first Bachelors degree. The application deadline is March 16, 2020.

February Luncheon February’s Luncheon will be held February 13 from 5pm to 8:30pm. Everyone is encouraged to wear pajamas and bring your favorite board or card games. Cocktails will be served at 5pm with Games and Dinner starting at 6pm. Register online now to attend this fun event!
