Freshman Henry Elliott and sophomore Kael De Santiago placed third with their project, “Reformation to Prohibition: How Martin Luther Sparked the Progressive Era.” Their knowledge of Progressive Era policies impressed the judges
Sophomores Britney Ta, Gertrudis Altamirano and Halimo Abdalla placed second with their project, “The Mayan Civilization: Understanding the Influence of Their Legacy.” Judges commended their thorough research and artifacts

Over spring break LCPA Journalism went to MU for Journalism Day. They participated in workshops, met other journalists and came home with 19 state recognition awards including five first place awards

Students were perched up outside to experience the rare eclipse happening on April 8. The eclipse was so significant because another eclipse like this one will not happen for another 20 years. It was also rare because of its wide path that crossed all of North America It allowed more Americans to experience the eclipse this year rather than the 2017 eclipse. Photo by: Ellery Hile
