October is Canadian Library Month and we’ll be celebrating Ontario Public Library Week from October 16 to 20, 2023. This year’s theme is “Libraries for Life”, and this is the perfect week to rediscover your local library and celebrate the services we provide to the youngest of Lambton’s residents, to those who remain young at heart.

Public Libraries serve an important role in every community by helping improve literacy. Today literacy goes beyond just reading and writing, encompassing skills such as counting, interpretation, creation, and communication in a fast-changing digital world. Improving literacy enhances lives by opening possibilities, reducing poverty, increasing participation in the labor market, and improving overall health. Visit us during Ontario Public Library Week for special treats and encourage your friends and family to register for a free library card by sharing your own love for our library throughout your life.

Library programs and events listings start on page 15. New events are always being added. For the most up-to-date program and event information visit lclibrary.ca and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
