AFTERSCHOOL KIDS’ CLUB

Thursday, September 7, 28, October 5,19 & 26 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Ages 8-12

Sept 7 - Tabletop Sports & Games: Make and play DIY tabletop sports games, such as soccer, football, marbles, and pinball.

Sept 28 - Google Eye Adventures: Go on a google eye hunt and create a google eyed creature.

Oct 5 - Scarecrow Skullduggery: Make a DIY scarecrow and play harvest games.

Oct 19 - Haunted Characters: As Halloween approaches and to celebrate Ontario Library Week, we will be creating spooky characters from favourite books and tales.

Oct 26 - Haunted Library: There are ghosts and monsters in the library! Find them, catch them, and make them.

Explore With Cubetto

Thursday, September 14 – 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.

Ages 8-12

Explore Cubetto coding level 1 and learn about basic coding. Explore with Cubetto and navigate this friendly robot through the obstacles of outer space, the ocean and the ancient world, using coloured tiles to program it!

Explore With Cubelets

Thursday, September 21 – 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Ages 8-12

Explore with Cubelets - magnetic cubes that when connected in sequence complete the ‘code’ and do marvelous things such as create a flashlight, a moving robot, or a speaker (It’s like LEGO, but electronic and no screen time is required!) Participate in the Wilkesport Cubelet Cup, completing a series of mini competitions with Cubelet to see if you will master the Cubelet or it will master you! (It’s all about completing mini-building challenges to see what can be done with these small cubes).

Create With Pixel Art

Thursday, October 12 – 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Ages 8-12

Create with the Pixel Art kit and Perler beads! This week, we will make fall keychains with the Perler beads. This program will focus on creating while incorporating elements of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics).
