The story of Your first piece of work that someone purchased?

MaviMatt Our first ever made product and our main product is the rocking chair UFO, with a design worldwide registered. The story of the UFO began when a friend of mine gifted me an ashtray. He was a smoker and one day this old guy gifted me a special ashtray with a different design. From this object we took inspiration to create the world’s first rocking chair that has a spherical chassis and can rock and swing while always maintaining a perfect balance. Our first ever sell was made in the 2015 when a dealer from Abu Dhabi found our design masterpiece UFO on instagram and decided to place the first order of 4 pieces in full carbon fiber. The problem was that we weren’t ready at that time with the first real piece to sell, we were still in the prototype phase of the UFO. But we had the courage to take the order, and his first order gave us the possibility to start and bring the first UFO in real life ready to be shipped,

The Start

We started from 0 in 2013 with a lot of passion and dedication. I graduated in design and since i was a kid i was in love with automotive design and wanted to transform the sexy supercars design into furniture pieces

Expect the unexpected… literally as we showed every year we promise to go out with 1/2 new products .. but it is not a standard thing cause we want to remain “artistic” so this depends a lot from our inspiration.. our customer must remain waiting

MAVIMATT?

The MaviMatt brand name takes inspiration from my family members (MA is Marco (my dad) VI is Vilma (my mother) and MATT is me (Mattia). Everything begin together with me and my dad in the 2013, we wanted create our own brand that take care to bring finished products worldwide, and to realize our products only with artisanal process, each one totally handmade in italy realized, for bring to our customers worldwide the real handmade in italy quality on a furniture design products. And to propose furniture pieces with a one of a kind design that normal furniture company can’t reproduce

Who & Where are your clients from?

MaviMatt: “A lot … and in different countries of the world.. We have shipped our products to Justin Bieber, Steve Aoki, The Alnoaimi Family (that is the royal family of sharja) united arab emirates), Maciej Lampe (former NBA basketball player), Manny Khoshbin (a famous USA real estate businessman), Al Nahyan Family (Abu Dhabi royal family), Gercollector (one of the most famous private car collector in Germany), Fedez (a famous italian singer married with chiara ferragni), and the list is still being worked on…

Well as I said we always try to take inspiration from Mother Nature for our design products.. and during a trip I did see a volcanic eruption.. I was impressed by the shape of the lava dripping and falling to the ground.. When I got back home I immediately started to put down ideas on a design product that remembered this process of the lava and its shapes.. in that moment the MAGMA console was born…

What type of inspiration is needed to create out of the box type of thinking?
