Greetings Key Clubbers, 2018 is LAMISSTENN's 75th Anniversary! We will be kicking our year long celebration with Officer Training at Hammond High on February 24. This is a day of club building, skill sharpening, Key Club fun geared to new, returning, or potential officers. March will bring Divisional Lt. Governor Elections. In April, we will be celebrating a successful year of service in Baton Rouge at our annual

Hello Key Clubbers,

1

March, can be a noun, a verb, or a month. So what will your March be? Will it be a parade to show off the accomplishments of your club, a movement that takes you forward to greater service in the coming year, or a month to put your club on top by serving those that need you the most? Why not all three. The March of Dimes sponsors the "March for Babies". Raise money to help mothers have healthy, happy babies. March toward a bigger, brighter year of service by beginning to recruit next year's members and helping your new officers get comfortable in their new roles. And don't forget to march to District Convention to celebrate a great year of service. There is an old saying that goes "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb". Here's hoping that whatever you do, your March comes in like a lion of service and goes out like a lamb of compassion. Thank you for your service to, and love for others.

As the Key Club Year comes to a close I become more and more grateful to all of you and the time we have been able to spend together. Thank you for the service you do and the lives you’ve changed. You have shown your ability to perform life-changing service to homes, schools, and communities. But that doesn’t just happen. It takes work, dedication, and growth. You all have shown me that in Key Club, whether you are on the international council, the district board or leadership team, or are a club officer or member, you have the ability to change the world. Thank you for proving that no matter how young you are, you are capable of making a difference by making caring your way of life. See you at DCON!

Dear La-Miss-Tenn, It has been my pleasure to serve as the La-Miss-Tenn Secretary- Treasurer for the 2017-2018 year. It is hard to believe that it has been four years since I first joined Key Club, four years since I became an official member of the mighty, La-Miss-Tenn district. In those four years I have had so much fun serving my community with such a wonderful group of individuals. I have seen more passion and good-will in the group of individuals that is our district, and all I can say is the world better watch out. What we have here in our district is the capabilities to change the world completely. You guys are going to use the experiences that you have made here to do greater things. From volunteering in hospitals to cleaning up the coast, you have done it all for your communities and based on the pictures and newspaper clippings I have seen I know that this is just a fraction of what our district is capable of. I want to say farewell and encourage the members of La-Miss-Tenn to continue to be relentless and to truly reach for the goals they wish to achieve both in their own lives and in their clubs at school. If you planned a project last year and you think you can do better, I don’t want you to second guess yourself, but be confident because you are contributing to a greater good. You can’t let fear of failure deter you from your goals, if you do that, you will never learn. I almost did that my sophomore year when I got scared and almost pulled out of the election of my division’s LTG. I almost let doubt and fear hinder me from making some of my most favorite memories, but I am glad I didn’t because I would not be the person I am today without the experiences I have made in the last four years. In closing I want to say do not limit yourself. Key Clubbers have a potential to do anything. I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone whether it is a large scale project or an office. You will not regret it. In fact, you will be grateful for it because you may make friends that will last you a lifetime. I am so proud of everything that this district has done and I can not wait to hear about the successes that we make together.

This year has gone by so fast. It seems like May was just yesterday. I am so proud of everyone and everything that was accomplished this year. I am sad that my year as Lieutenant Governor is coming to an end but I am excited about the accomplishments that you will achieve in the future. I wish the best of luck to everyone.

I have always been the shy girl growing up, coming into this position in April of 2017 my biggest challenge was communication. Eleven months ago I could not have asked store managers about donation boxes, or walked into a different school's Key Club meeting knowing no one, without almost having an anxiety attack. Being Lieutenant Governor has pushed me to do things and learn skills that I wouldn't have learned otherwise. I have met so many amazing Key Clubbers, Kiwanians, and friends this year. I am so thankful for the opportunity the District and the clubs in Division 7A have given me. I can't wait to see what we will do next year!

It is so bittersweet to be moving on from the LaMissTenn District Board! I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve on the District Board and couldn’t be more satisfied with the success of my term. I want to thank everyone for all the kindness and respect throughout my term, and for allowing me to lead my clubs in the best way possible. My favorite memories will be the PCMs, because I got to hear about the amazing service projects and fundraisers that were happening in Division 7B directly from officers and representatives!

Serving as Lieutenant Governor over the past year has been one of the best experiences of my life. I have learned so much from working with the District Board and with the clubs in Division 15. I have seen how much each member has to give to their community, as well as the friendship we all share as Key Clubbers, on a scale that I never knew was possible. This District is astounding, and I’m excited to see what we do next year.

Hey, y’all. I’m Lilly Kamberov, the LtG. from Division 9. It has been such an honor and a blast to serve on the District Board. I’m so glad that I got the opportunity to serve my Division and District through Key Club and service. It’s been great to meet individuals at DCON, ICON, and Rallies. I’ve also really enjoyed being a part of the District Board and getting to serve with so many like-minded high schoolers. Thanks so much for letting me serve you all!

The time has come where my term is almost up; I am so grateful for meeting so many inspiring people. Through my term I have accomplished many things and some of them I have not expected to happen like starting a mentoring program with a local youth center. I have so many great memories of being with the board and I consider them like a family. My best memory is al the prepping we did getting ready for DCON during the November board meeting; I have never seen so many driven people come together at times like 1:00 AM to finalize plans. Thank you to everyone who has helped, become part of my life, and supported me through all the exhaustion and never ending duties; this year has been one I can never forget.

Wow! When I was appointed as webmaster in June, I knew what I was getting myself in to but I sure didn’t see this outcome. I managed to create and give LaMissTenn a new platform for information on the web. I now am also the lieutenant governor for division 12, too. I would like to send a HUMONGOUS thank you to all of my fellow board members, including Mrs. Jean and Mr. Anthony; you all taught me how to accomplish what I thought couldn’t be done and you all push me out of my comfort zone a little more every day. I will cherish every sticky note I received, and I’ll continue to support you through and through. It’s not a goodbye, everyone, but a see you soon.

I'd like to say thank you to everyone on the board who has helped and guided me throughout this year. Its been so wonderful to get to know so many amazing like-minded people who truly want whats best for our schools, community, and world. Kiwanis will be a part of me forever, and it has shaped who I am today. I will never forget my time as a Lieutenant Governor for LaMissTenn (aka best district ever).

With DCON only being a month away, I would like to say how proud I am of the district as a whole. I have seen first hand how our commitment to service as Key Clubbers can make a lasting difference in people’s lives. I hope this past year has been as life-changing and fulfilling as you all have made it for me. If you are a graduating senior, I hope you continue to stay involved in the K-Family and keep close ties with your home Key Club. If you are an underclassman, be sure to go the extra mile by spending your weekends serving and understanding the importance of the core values. Key Club can make you a better person, just keep your mind open and do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Thanks again for all the early morning service projects and late night planning; your hard work does not go unnoticed. See you at DCON!

From planning my first rally, to working out the finishing details of District Convention, my term as 2017-2018 Key Club Division 13B Lieutenant Governor has been one amazing ride. Back in May, the board came together as strangers, and now we are leaving as a unified family. Under the leadership of Governor Anna Kate Broussard and our Secretary-Treasurer Kari Stephens, and the other hard working Lieutenant Governors, we have had a year full of long lasting memories. Some of my proudest moments in my division are organizing and working with all 9 of the Division 13B schools at the Boys and Girls Club and the St. Tammany Parish Humane Society. Division 13B, thank you for being such an outstanding division and putting in so much time and effort into our community. I am so honored to be coming back next year as the 2018-2019 Division 13B Lieutenant Governor.

n 14a Greetings everyone! Sadly this is the final stretch, with our last Crawfish Tales of this year. Hope you didn't forget out biggest event of the year though. DCON is our biggest and best event, celebrating our club's successes and showcasing some of our best talents. Personally, my favorite part has been getting to know all my members in Division 14A (and 14B!), and I can't wait to see everyone at DCON!

I just want to thank my Division for such an amazing year as Lieutenant Governor. I’m so blessed to be a part of this amazing organization! From Pancake breakfasts to painting garbage cans for the beach. I enjoyed every event with my Key Clubs and meeting everyone!Â

While some people were catching beads and dancing for Mardi Gras, our club decided to have our 7 Annual Mardi Gras Food Drive! In the past years, our club would go door to door in subdivisions, covering over 5,500 houses. We would go the Thursday before Mardi Gras to ‘paper’ the neighborhoods letting them know we would be coming back on Monday to collect. Although this project was very fun for our members, as each year went on, the project got bigger and bigger; with that, the expenses increased (food, gas, trailers, Uhalls, etc.). This year to save time and money, our food drive committee decided to experiment and go to the main sources of food: grocery stores. For four days we stood in front of multiple stores collecting food. With every costumer that went in the store, we handed them a small sheet of food items needed for the food bank; and most people on the way out would drop of a bag of food off. Needless to say, it was the most successful year of donations we collected! Last year doing the door to door, we collected 7,400 pounds of food and $350; this year we brought in 13,759 pounds of food, and $2,179 in monetary donations! Our local food bank was over joyed, and very thankful! It was a great project! th

District Convention is a hop, skip, and a jump away! For those of you who don't know, the LAMISSTENN District Convention will be held on April 13th-15th in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This Convention is a must for you Key Clubbers. Filled with tons of Fellowship opportunities and workshops, District Convention, also referred to as DCON, is a weekend you wouldn't want to miss! Distort Convention is a perfect balance of learning and having fun! Scavenger hunts, photo booths, contests, and award ceremonies are just a few of the fun-filled events that will take place! Ryne Passuer, of Archbishop Hannan High School in Covington, got the opportunity to attend DCON last year and said, “ LAMISSTENN DCON was the best experience ever! I got to bond with some of my home club members, attend the awesome Saturday night dance, and I got to see the installation and retirement of the board! Overall, a weekend no Key Clubber should miss!” You read it here folks!! Hope to see you all at the 2017-2018 LAMISSTENN DCON in Baton Rouge! YOU should attend DCON! Why? There’s going to be a scavenger hunt that you WILL want to be a part of. There will be a fabulous photo booth for you to snap pictures with your friends and document the fun times you’re having. There a Governors Ball for you to attend on Saturday night that you WILL NOT want to miss! You get to see all of your fellow division and district friends. When you arrive at LaMissTenn District Convention, it would be tragic to realize that you forgot some of the most important things! Jeans are an ALWAYS so that you can look great in your DCON T-Shirt. Remember that there are times where the term “show up and show out” don’t apply, so be sure to bring your business casual outfits. Slacks and a nice blouse and/or a button up with a tie. Females can wear skirts as long as they are the appropriate length. If you are a Delegate and you get to attend the House of Delegates, you have to look top-notch in your Business Professional outfit! A blazer with slacks/skirt would look great. Guys, don’t forget your tie! It would be a tragedy if you weren’t sleeping soundly, so don’t forget to toss your super comfy PJs into your suitcase! Everyone loves to feel clean! The hotel provides tiny bottles of soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Don’t forget deodorant and perfume/cologne. The feel of minty fresh breath is the best feeling. Be sure not to forget your toothbrush and toothpaste! The term “messy hair, don’t care,” doesn’t apply when you want to look flawless… better toss in that hair brush and hairspray/hair gel. Not only do you need business clothes but you also need a pair of close toe shoes to finish the look. Some paper and pens would be pretty helpful if you hear a great idea that might help your home club! If you want to participate in fundraisers then don't forget to bring a few extra dollars. Last but not least, this is Key Club so don’t forget to bring your Heart to Serve.
