She first established a group where people with learning disabilities co-produced and informed how an organisation works in the early 1990s, setting her leadership style as a CEO At Certitude, Aisling continues to champion initiatives that enable people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health support needs to have choice and control over their lives supported by talented, engaged and valued team members. Aisling is an experienced strategic director and has served as a Trustee on charity boards over the past 10 years and is currently on the board of Shared Lives Plus In 2022, Aisling was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Learning Disability and Autism Awards

Ali Bahram - Associate Partner, Mansfield Advisors

Ali Bahram joined Mansfield Advisors in 2018 and has worked on projects across all of Mansfield’s verticals including healthcare provision, life sciences and pharma, veteinrary and social care Social projects include elderly care homes, homecare, specialist care and children’s specialist schools. He recently finished a secondment in the Operational Capital Markets division at Savills with a focus on healthcare. Anna Severwright - Co-Convener, Social Care Future

Anna is a qualified doctor, no longer working in clinical practice, she now combines her lived experience of disability and social care with her professional expertise, to positively change social care. She has various roles which include being a convenor of the Social Care Future movement which is all about disabled and older people being able to live the lives they want to live, also, being a special advisor to the House of Lords adult social care committee and a commissioner on the Archbishop’s Reimaging Care Commission and previously was co-chair of the Coalition for Collaborative Care.

Brian White - Chief Immigration Officer, Home Office

Brian White is a seasoned Chief Immigration Officer with the Home Office’s Criminal & Financial Investigations (CFI) team, specialising in complex immigration-related crime Since joining the UK Immigration Service in 2001, he has served at major UK ports and transitioned to Immigration Enforcement in 2005 From 2009 to 2011, Brian worked as a specialist Immigration Advisor in Iraq, gaining frontline international experience. Based in Liverpool since 2014, he plays a vital role in disrupting serious organised immigration crime, bringing over two decades of operational and investigative expertise to the UK’s immigration system.

Bruce Walker - Country Manager, Aedifica

Bruce has built a distinguished career in property and healthcare investment, beginning in Corporate Finance at Johnson Fry and Brown Shipley, before serving as Corporate & Finance Director at FairBriar plc. He was Finance Director at Ashley House plc, leading its 2007 flotation, and later founded AH Medical Properties plc, the sector’s top-performing healthcare portfolio prior to its acquisition by Assura. As founder of Layland Walker Ltd, Bruce oversaw asset management of 100 care homes for Lone Star, later acquired by Aedifica in 2021 He is also a trustee of Rackets Cubed and former Chair of Greene Light Stage plc

Carole Edmond - Founder & CEO, Glassmoon

He also chaired the APPG on Longevity in the same period, which dealt with many issues involving older people, including how to minimise the burden of care He was the MP for Ashford between 1997 and 2024 His Ministerial career included being First Secretary of State (Deputy Prime Minister) in 2017, and before that Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Minister for Policing, Criminal Justice and Victims, and Immigration Minister.

Daniel Casson - Conference Director, LaingBuisson

Dean Thomas - Criminal Investigation Officer, Home Office

Dean Thomas is a seasoned Criminal Investigator with the Home Office’s Serious and Organised Crime Team, bringing over eight years of frontline and strategic experience within the criminal justice system. His career began in the Prison Service, where he rose through the ranks from Prison Officer to Offender Manager, developing a strong foundation in offender management and rehabilitation. Dean later transitioned to the Home Office, where he has specialised in investigating complex and serious crimes, including high-harm organised crime and immigration-related offences. In his current role as a T/Chief Immigration Officer, Dean leads a dedicated team of investigators tackling high-priority criminal cases. Known for his leadership, operational insight, and commitment to justice, he plays a key role in safeguarding communities and upholding the rule of law

Prof. Deborah Sturdy CBE - Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care, DHSC

Deborah was appointed as the first Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care in 2021. She has held a number of previous roles including senior posts in practice, research and policy, in both social care services and the NHS She was appointed the expert nurse on the Gosport Independent Panel the report of which was laid before Parliament in 2018 She holds three Visiting Chairs in Nursing at Manchester Metropolitan and Buckinghamshire New Universities and Coventry University Deborah has written numerous papers for publications and presented at national and international meetings She was awarded a CBE in the 2022 Honours list and an OBE in the 2017. She is a Fellow of the QNI and RCN and received the British Geriatric President’s Medal for her contribution to older people nursing the first nurse to receive this. She was awarded an honorary doctorate for her contribution to nursing in July 2023 from Buckinghamshire New University, She is a Fellow of both the Queen’s Nursing Institute and Royal College of Nursing

James Bullion - Interim Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care and Integrated Care, CQC

James Bullion joined CQC as Interim Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care and Integrated Care in June 2023. James was previously Executive Director of Adult Social Services at Norfolk County Council He was also a member of the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board As president of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) in 2020-21, James supported and advocated for people using care during the pandemic He has also been the ADASS representative supporting the development of our new assessments of local authorities James has been working with the Department of Health and Social Care on their plans to ensure people can leave hospital when they are well enough to do so.
