It will also look at whether it should be made easier for patients to move between sectors, the obstacles and the likely direction of travel.

13:15-14:15
Reimagining private healthcare designing services to meet shifting patient needs
How are independent sector providers adapting to changing patient needs and how are they designing new services in response to patient demand? Can new models encourage more people to consider private healthcare or are they just filling a gap in NHS services? What services are most in demand and is the way they are being delivered changing as more patients access the independent sector. How big an issue is pricing and is there an opportunity to develop lower cost services that make the sector more accessible to a wider audience?
In a highly competitive recruitment landscape, has retaining staff become even more important for healthcare providers? Has the focus moved away from recruitment initiatives to retention strategies. Will the Employment Rights Bill increase the focus on retention? What are healthcare providers doing to hold on to their staff, what works and what doesn't? Why do people leave and what can providers do to make them stay? What do staff value most from their employer?
