At Lafarge Canada, we know building progress starts right here, right now, with all of us. So, we’re focusing on three core areas to make this happen.
1 Making cities greener from foundation to rooftop with low-carbon solutions
From low-carbon products to energy efficiency and renovation solutions, we are leaders in our sector. Our products, such as ECOPact green concrete and ECOPlanet green cement, have CO2 footprints 30% to 100% lower than local market materials.
Progress in action
ECOPlanet was used in the development of the Seattle Spheres building, delivering more than 80% reduction in CO2 over the industry average, saving up to 400 tons of CO2.
Empowering society with smarter infrastructure
We use tailored systems to enable more green mobility, renewable energy and essential sanitation.
Progress in action
Working with a range of partners from start-ups to academic institutions, we’re developing a magnetizable concrete technology for road surfaces that enables electric vehicles to recharge wireless while in motion. Known as ‘inductive charging’, this breakthrough concrete-based solution accelerates the transition to e-mobility.

Improving living standards for all with affordable and sustainable solutions
We’re increasing access to affordable housing with innovative partnerships and technologies. Over three billion people are expected to need affordable housing by 2030. With 3D printing, we are part of the solution.
Progress in action
We’re helping through projects like Mvule Gardens, a 52-unit housing project in Kilifi, Kenya. This new neighbourhood will be a safe and inclusive environment for children and women, while enhancing biodiversity.
