A total of 16 staff members took part in two separate seminars in Miami last May: “Coaching for Packing Instructors” (May 14-16), and “Moving from A-Z” (19-22). Offered in Spanish by LACMA Training Team instructors Miguel Florez (Aviomar –Colombia), and Evelyn de Jaén (LACMA’s General Manager, Panama), the seminar for Packing Instructors gave eight participants from the United States and Puerto Rico the opportunity to cover topics such as Tools and Methodology, the Integration 54

An equal number of participants from Brazil, El Salvador and the USA took part in the “Moving from A-Z” seminar, offered in the English language. This four-day intensive training focused, as its name suggests, on all the general aspects every international moving practitioner should know: Process System, Commercial & Traffic System, Operations, and Customs Operations, etc.

In addition to Evelyn de Jaén and Miguel Florez, the staff of instructors also included Peter Shaefers, U.S. representative (New York) of Asian Tigers Mobility (Singapore). This seminar was also enhanced by the participation of two U.S. Customs officials, Mr. Politakis and Mrs. Paniagua who provided useful information. Both seminars will be offered once again in September in Madrid, Spain, for the benefit of LACMA’s European associate members.
