GOODLUCK YEAR 11S

KWS LIBRARY MAGAZINE - STUDENT EDITION 5

In this Book-ish we have highlighted some special events we celebrated in the library and beyond, with our newest Book-ish team member, Sonny writing about a local festival. Lucy also joined the team and helped design our special Year 11 leavers front cover with Maya and Mirabelle! Well done to the whole team for all their hard work designing, writing and photographing for this issue. Finally, farewell to our Year 11 leavers. The first students to ever be a part of our school, we are proud of you and hope you achieve all you want for your exams and the future.

& WorldPoetry Day Poetry Month

The Academy of American Poets in April 1996 launched National Poetry Month as a special occasion that celebrates poets’ integral role in culture and that poetry matters. It has become the largest literary celebration in the world, with tens of millions of readers, students, teachers, librarians, booksellers, literary events curators, publishers, families, and—of course —poets, marking poetry’s important place in our lives.

World Poetry Day was first adopted 21 March by UNESCO during its 30th General Conference in Paris in 1999, with the aim of supporting linguistic diversity through poetic expression and increasing the opportunity for endangered languages to be heard.

It can take someone a year to speak out about their mental health.

Make sure to be supportive of your friends and family and let them know you are a safe person to talk to.

You never know what someone is going through.
