A boy and a girl are behind the wheel of a speed boat. Two tipsy women are having a blast on the road with their convertible. Two policemen are practising their shooting skills while washing their car. They all meet at a gas station. The local band dedicates a song to the victims of stupidity. Innocence meets sex, and power meets power. Evris Papanikolas was born and raised in Cairo, Egyt. He studied photography and film directing. Filmography: «They Do It Every Day» (1984), «We’re All Doing Fine» (1985), «The Perfect Crime» (1986), «Just a Perfect Day» (2011). Speech-impaired Lubbert leads a secluded life with his mother in some remote corner of Flanders. Venturing out into the fields and forests of the region, he encounters a world that is grotesque and unsettling – yet no more so than his own disturbing behaviour ... Marc Roels (*1978 in Johannesburg) has been awarded many international awards for his short animation «Concern» (2001). With his latest short «Oh Willy» (2012), he’s won numerous jury- and audience awards. He also works as a director for commercials. Wim Reygaert (*1974 in Gent) produces commercials, music videos and short films.
From a conversation about the meaning of the word «Ersatz», an absurd and poetic discussion develops between the protagonists of the film, which makes it clear that the existential experience of feeling oneself is only a simulacrum. A humorous dialogue about the concept of interchangeability. Lives and works in Zurich. US-born Swiss artist Elodie Pong is known for her subtle, analytic works, often built as cycles or in series, which focus on human relationships, cultural codes and their impacts on contemporary society.
