Instead of them being mailed automatically, the Board would like everyone who is interested in using the pool to please fill out the tag request form you have received in the US Mail. TAGS WILL BE ISSUED ONLY BY REQUEST! Please be familiar with our pool rules. Even though there is always a lifeguard on duty during pool hours, children must always be accompanied by an adult. TRASH REMINDER
Trash receptacles and recycle bins must be stored in garage or behind house out of public view on non-trash days. This is unsightly and is not the image we want to present in our community. Trash pickup days are Tuesday and Friday. Friday is heavy trash day. Trash should not be placed at curb before 6:00 PM the night before trash is picked up. Please respect the deed restrictions.

If you observe speeding cars in your area, you can contact the Sheriff’s Department at 281-341-4665 to request patrols so that speeding is discouraged. The Sheriff’s Department has been given authority to enforce traffic laws on our private streets.

In an effort to get information out to our residents in a timely manner, we are asking homeowners to voluntarily submit their email addresses to be included on a mailing list for Falcon Point use only. Sending email will allow us to keep homeowners informed of upcoming events (garage sale, National Night Out, etc.), scheduled maintenance (gate repair, etc.) and other issues of concern to our neighborhood. Your email information will be kept confidential. We will not sell or give it away to anyone. SOCCER FIELD RESERVATIONS
The soccer fields at the neighborhood center can be reserved by logging on to the Falcon Point East HOA website at www. falconpointeast.org. Register on the website if you have not already done so. On the right hand side of the screen, click on “Calendars” and then go to “Soccer.” The reservation must be made by a resident of Falcon Point East HOA (the Arbor, the Grove, the Landing and the Meadows), who is responsible for the activities on the field during the reserved time. NEED ADDITIONAL GATE TRANSMITTERS AND/OR GATE CARDS?
Gate transmitters and gate cards are available for purchase. Transmitters are $40 each and cards are $10 each at this time. If you wish to buy gate access equipment, you can contact the Gate Committee at FPE.gates@gmail.com. It is strongly recommended that everyone purchase a wallet card to be able to gain access to the neighborhood, in case your transmitter battery fails or you need to gain access to the community, but you are not in your own car.

The Falcon Point East subdivision consists of the 613 lots located in the Arbor, the Grove, the Landing and the Meadows. Owners of these lots are members of the Falcon Point East Homeowners Association, Inc. (the Association). The Association is managed by Community Manager. Policy is

You can review the financial statements, including the monthly check register, and approved minutes of Falcon Point East HOA. You can also download governing documents. A listing of important numbers and a link to the management company (Community Manager) is also available. You may place your contact information in the directory if you like. An application for home improvements is available on the website. The website contains links to Katy ISD, as well as links to local traffic and weather reports. To register to use the website click on, “Register as a new user.” Follow the directions and you will receive clearance to use the website.

BOY SCOUT TROOP 1288 MCMEANS JR. HIGH STUDENT KEVIN LOCH EARNS EAGLE SCOUT AWARD Kevin (Tex) Loch, a member of Boy Scout Troop 1288, Katy, TX recently earned Eagle Scout Rank, scouting’s highest award. Tex has been a member of Troop 1288, chartered to Epiphany Catholic Church, since 2010. Before joining Boy Scouts, Tex was a Cub Scout in Pack 239 where he earned the Arrow of Light award. As a Boy Scout, Tex has earned 43 merit badges and has held several leadership positions including Senior Patrol Leader, Instructor, Patrol Leader and Chaplain’s Aide. In addition, Tex received the Texas Award, completed the Mile Swim and attended National Youth Leadership Training. He is also a member of the Order of the Arrow. For his service project, Tex led a team of scouts and adults in the design and construction of a crushed granite pathway leading up to and around a gazebo at Church on the Rock in Katy. The son of Kenn and Peggy Loch, Tex is a member of Kingsland Baptist Church and an 8th grader at McMeans Junior

COUGAR STARS PRESENTS ANNUAL SUMMER DANCE CLINIC The Cinco Ranch High School Cougar Stars will host their annual Summer Dance Clinic Monday, June 17th through Thursday, June 20th at Cinco Ranch High School from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Participants ages 4 - 18 are invited to attend. Campers will learn exciting dance routines, enjoy fun crafts and make new friends! Summer Dance Clinic will also help students who are interested in dance and dance team gain confidence and provide them the opportunity of working with the award winning Cougar Stars. The eleventh annual summer band camp, offered to next year’s 7th, 8th and 9th grade KISD band students, will be held at Seven Lakes High School from July 15th to July 19th. The camp will include daily section rehearsals, full band rehearsals and fun music based electives. Lunch is also part of the camp. The cost of the camp is $100 and will include a t-shirt if postmarked by June 7th. Late registration is an additional $25 if postmarked after June 7th. The camp concludes with the Grand Finale Concert on Friday morning at 9 AM. After the concert, those students wishing to extend the fun a little longer can join in the group’s optional trip to Splashtown Water Park in Spring, Texas for an additional $35 (park admission, meal, bus transportation and drinks are included in price) for a total camp cost of $135 ($160 after June 7th). The KISD JH Summer Band Camp has been a huge success each year and we anticipate a large enrollment this year. Plan to register early in order to secure a spot. Camp participants will audition for summer band camp placement the first day of camp, beginning promptly at 8 AM. Students should prepare major scales and chromatic scales specific to the student’s instrument, as well as a band camp audition etude. Students will be ability grouped with the number of bands being determined by total enrollment for the camp. Registration Form, Audition materials and Medical Form and Permission to Travel are to be downloaded by campers from the Katy ISD Fine Arts Webpage www.katyisd. org/finearts - An email confirmation is sent out upon receipt of registration and follow up reminders from the camp coordinator will be sent before the camp begins, so make sure your email address is clearly printed on the registration form. The camp provides an economical and convenient alternative to those who may not have had a chance to attend another band camp over the summer due to scheduling and/or costs. Participants will receive top quality instruction on their instruments from our own great KISD and Houston area Band Directors. Join us for the eleventh annual Katy ISD Junior High Summer Band Camp and keep your playing skills sharp for next year! Camp brochures with the Registration Form were distributed to KISD band student by their schools’ directors, but they can also be downloaded from the Katy ISD Fine Arts webpage above. This summer, the HFAC’s Actors Academy is offering 25 different 1 and 3-week performing arts camps for grades 1-12. HFAC camps run June

10 through August 24, 2013 and feature acting, singing and dance instruction, as well as performance opportunities in musicals, dramas and comedies - especially designed for kids and teens. The HFAC Actors Academy 3-week Musical Theatre Performance Camps for grades 1-6 and 4-8 are Honk, Jr, The Hobbit, Pinocchio and Once on this Island, Jr. HFAC is offering eleven 1-week camps for grades 1-6 that include “Clowning Around,” “Acting Up Improv,” “Imagination Theatre,” “Disney Magic,” “Lights of Broadway,” “American Idol Boot Camp,” “Triple Threat,” “Fractured Fairy Tales,” “Dancing through the Decades,” “Melodrama Madness” and “Glee.” HFAC has numerous performance opportunities for teens in grades 7-12. The teen 3-week performance camps are Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew and Once on this Island. The 1-week camps for teens are “Stage Combat,” “Acting for Stage and Film,” “Dialects,” “Triple Threat Boot Camp” and “Shakespeare Intensive.” A new addition to the HFAC summer program for teens is the audition show Steel Magnolias. This show rehearses Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings beginning July 16th. Performances for Steel Magnolias will be the last week of Aug. Dance classes will also be offered this summer. There will be eight ballet 1, ballet 2, pointe, jazz 2 and tap 2 classes taught Tuesday evenings, June 11th-Aug 6th. The HFAC Royal Academy of Dance program is offering an Alice in Wonderland Ballet Camp that meets Monday and Wednesday evenings, July 22nd-August 24th. New this summer is a 2-week lighting and sound engineering camp for teens who want to learn how to provide technical support for musicals, comedies and dramas. The HFAC Summer 2013 line-up offers maximum scheduling flexibility at rates that are lower than anywhere in Houston. The average performing arts camp in Houston costs in excess of $11 per hour. HFAC camp tuition ranges from $5.23-$5.57 per hour before discounts. The 3-week camps are $575 or $5.23/hr and the 1-week camps are $195 or $5.57 per hour. HFAC offers multiple camp discounts and before-and-after care for working parents. Every 3-week performance camp culminates in 4 performances. Each parent will receive 2 free tickets to a performance of their choice. Additional tickets can be purchased at $10 per person for shows featuring grades 1-6 performers. Prices for the teen performances are either $12 or $15 depending on the venue. All 3-week camps include two complimentary tickets to the show, a camp t-shirt, costumes and other needed materials. The Ayusa program is celebrating its 30th year this year and is responsible for more than 60,000 students from 75 different countries spending the school year in the United States. There are not many strict requirements that need to be met to host a student. The most important thing is that those who host students are doing so for the right reason; providing a loving experience and an exposure to American culture. There are a few basic requirements, of course. Anyone older than 25 and can provide food and shelter for a student fulfills the requirements of being a host family. There is a background check, reference check and an interview. Background checks have to be done on everyone over 18 living in the home. The host families have to be interested in it for the right reasons, the cultural exchange of learning from them and them learning from us. It’s the language, the cooking, the music, the food. The host family has to be genuinely interested.

KATY REBELS ARE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS AT SPRING MADNESS TOURNEY IN THE WOODLANDS, TX The 9th/10th Grade Katy Rebels - D’Addieco team continued their impressive start to the season with another 1st place finish in the March 30th Houston Premier Spring Madness tournament in The Woodlands, TX. After a shaky first half in the first game, the Rebels mounted a 14 point comeback in the second half and held on to win by 3 points. They won the championship against the host team by an impressive 22 points while battling foul trouble and physical play. Again, hustle and intensity, along with some clutch free throws, late game execution and a solid zone defense proved to be the difference. Prior to his appointment as District Superintendent, Pat served the Jefferson Circuit, South Texarkana, Tennison Memorial in Mount Pleasant, Avinger and Mims Chapel Circuit, Bridges Chapel and Greenhill Circuit, First UMC in Conroe, First UMC in Linden, Pleasant Retreat in Tyler, First UMC in Lindale, Bear Creek UMC in Houston and First UMC in Longview. He graduated from East Texas State University in 1980. While attending Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University, he was ordained as a Deacon in 1981. After earning his Master of Divinity degree in 1983 he was ordained as an Elder in 1986. He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Brite Divinity School in 2002.

She will present a program describing the relatively new Biological Inventory Team Project created by Texas Parks & Wildlife. Their purpose is to assist landowners and TPWD biologists by conducting surveys of plants and animals on private property. This program will take place on Thursday, June 6th at 7 PM. SUMMER READING CLUB FOR YOUNG ADULTS BEGINS JUNE 3, 2013!
Young Adult Reading Club for Teens, June 3rd - August 3rd. Exciting free activities - from game days and movie nights to cookie decorating and scrapbooking classes - are being planned, while area teens discover the wonders of the world that can be found between the pages of a book! Library programs and activities begin during the week of June 10th and continue through August 3rd. The theme for this year is “Beneath the Surface.” Teens in grades 6 and up are encouraged to read as many books as they can and they will earn rewards based on the total number of hours they spend reading or the number of reading-related activities they complete. The reading activities may include watching a movie based on a book, attending a teen library program or making a bookmark or poster based on a book. Listening to audio books and reading magazines and newspapers may also be counted. Participants may register at any Fort Bend County library or they may register online by going to the FBCL website. When the online registration form has been completed, the teens will then have their own online page on which to record their hours and activities. For the first ten activities completed, each teen will receive a mystery prize. The rewards continue with a reading trophy for the first 20 books read. Reading rewards can be redeemed beginning Monday, June 10th. The last day to pick up awards is August 31st. The names of participants will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card that will be awarded to several lucky readers completing 20 activities or more, in a drawing scheduled in August at each library location. There is no charge to join the Summer Reading Club and it is open to all teens, regardless of the county of residence. All programs are free and open to the public. The Summer Reading Club programs are sponsored by Fort Bend County Libraries, the Friends organizations that support the county library system and the Collaborative Summer Library Program, a consortium of states working together to provide high-quality children’s summer-reading program materials for public libraries.

RUOK PROGRAM
Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Dept. has a computer-generated program called “Are You OK?” (RUOK). It is a computer-generated call intended for senior citizens (over 55) and disabled persons who live alone and could benefit from a daily check. A computer will generate a call each morning, at about the same time and the participant chooses a time frame. A voice will ask, “Are you OK?” After this, all they have to do is hang up the phone. If the participant goes out of town or leaves the residence for any time, you just temporarily un-subscribe and re-subscribe when you return. If the call goes unanswered, the computer will call back 3 times at 15-minute intervals. If there is still no answer, the Sheriff will dispatch a deputy or the local police. They will have with them a print out of information on the person that is not responding to the calls. This program was established by FBC Sheriff Milton Wright, Commissioner’s Court and Ken Whitt (FBC Sheriff’s Citizens Academy Alumni Assoc.) in 1998. Many police chiefs in the county are also participating in the program and will proceed with the welfare check for citizens of their community. When your dog is not in your yard, it is imperative that you keep your dog on a leash at all times. LICENSING OF DOGS AND CATS The primary benefit of licensing animals is identification, should that animal become lost. Licensing also: • Ensures that rabies vaccination are current. • Allows for quick identification in case of a bite incident. • Provides revenue to offset the administration costs of the animal control program. VACCINATION Rabies vaccinations are a prerequisite for licensing dogs and cats because they are an important control measure for the public health threat of rabies. In addition to protecting pets, rabies vaccinations provide a barrier between infected wild animals and humans.

“HOBO” CORN ON THE COB
INGREDIENTS: 1 sheet (18x24”) heavy duty aluminum foil or Reynolds cooking packet 4 ears corn-on-the-cob, husked 1/4 cup butter, softened salt & pepper to taste OR seasoning salt 2 ice cubes
DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 450° or build a medium-high grill in campfire or barbecue. Spread margarine on corn. Sprinkle with seasonings. Top with ice cubes. Place corn in aluminum foil. Double fold top and ends to seal making one large foil packet or place ingredients in an aluminum cooking bag and seal carefully. Leave room for heat circulation inside. Bake 35 to 40 minutes on a cookie sheet in oven or grill 15 to 20 minutes. Turn packet over once during cooking. Open carefully to avoid steam and enjoy. Source: www.fabulousfoods.com/
