Redevelopment momentum is picking up in positive ways for Fenton Logistics Park, the 295-acre site that had formerly served as Chrysler’s assembly plant. Scott Haley, KP Development managing director and project leader, said that construction was completed this summer on the first 158,000-square-foot building for the site, and now construction is beginning on the second. “We have three executed leases on the first two buildings,” revealed Haley, who also said the undisclosed companies will announce their moves closer to the time that they are taking occupancies.

Alkem Laboratories will occupy 32,086 square feet in the park’s first speculative building - 2050 Fenton Logistics Blvd.

Haley said so far, the future tenants are “expanding, growing” businesses that need industrial, light manufacturing and office spaces. He also said that KP Development team members are contributing details and information to the St. Louis Economic Partnership team attempting to attract Amazon’s second North American headquarters location to St. Louis.

The first two buildings are located east of what used to be named Mraz Lane, now called Fenton Logistics Park Boulevard. Fenton Mayor Josh Voyles said a group of city representatives did a walk-through of the first building recently. “It’s fantastic, and we’re hearing the demand is higher than anticipated, so hopefully that may mean more jobs coming to Fenton in the future.” Clayton-based KP Development purchased the Fenton site in 2013, and created a master plan to work towards securing new businesses that Haley said he hopes will create 1,500 to 3,000 jobs over the development period of the site. The property is bordered by Interstate 44 and strategically situated near the interchange of Interstates 44 and 270, while also featuring rail access served by Burlington Northern. KP Development team members think the site provides a convenient, easy-to-access Midwest location that has exceptional potential for office, industrial, traditional distribution centers and e-fulfillment. Buildings as large as 500,000 square feet can be done there.  FACC TO HOST FIRST “APPY HOUR” EVENT … 2
