Fabick CAT Named 2017 “Champion of Enterprise” by Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry If something big is taking shape in Missouri, it’s a safe bet that Fabick Cat is part of the effort. In the regions Fabick serves, the company’s dealerships are synonymous with the Caterpillar brand of heavy equipment. Machines from the company helped build the Gateway Arch. They aided the construction of Bagnell Dam at the Lake of the Ozarks. They even helped make Missouri the crossroads of the nation as the interstate highway system was developed. This year, the company is marking its 100th year in business. With 37 locations in four states, Fabick Cat has grown tremendously since it was founded by John Fabick Sr. However, even with all the changes over the years, the company remains committed to the motto established by Fabick Sr. at the very start: “To ever serve our customers better.” In 1972, the company moved its headquarters to Fenton, where it remains today. Another pivotal moment happened in 1982 when then-president Joe Fabick was chosen by Caterpillar to lead the Fabco Inc. dealerships in Wisconsin and upper Michigan. With experienced Fabick leaders at the helm, Fabick Cat and Fabco thrived in their respective regions. Then a 2015 merger brought the companies together — the Fabick company was united and larger than ever. Now, 100 years after its founding, Fabick Cat remains an important member of the Missouri business community and a critical part of many of the biggest building projects happening around Missouri and the nation. The Missouri Chamber of Commerce & Industry honored Fabick as the 2017 Champion of Enterprise during the Missouri Business Awards at Busch Stadium.

1. MAKE A PLAN: People often underestimate the time and effort that goes into social posts. Sitting down at the top of 2017 to plan your posts and put them in a calendar will ultimately save you time and help you accomplish lots via social media this year. What should you include in your plan?

 How many hours per day… per week can you commit to social media efforts? Be realistic!

 What kinds of posts will your audience enjoy and (most importantly) interact with? Search your competitors.  What contests and promotions would attract new fans or followers? What has worked in the past?  How much money can you set aside for social media marketing (i.e. post boosting and advertisements)? 2. UPDATE YOUR GRAPHICS: Does your profile or cover photo look outdated? Is it the right size for mobile view? Do your graphics compliment your business/speak to your audience? Professional graphics can upgrade your image for little money. You may consider using a graphics building website application like Canva. Need additional ideas? Contact the Fenton Chamber at 636-717-0200.

3. REVIEW PROFILE INFORMATION: Social media platforms seem to change their formats on a regular basis, so if you haven’t updated your profile/page information for a while, you’re due for a review. Look for updated URLs, phone numbers, addresses and contact information. Take a look at your profile or page description – does it still convey your company’s message accurately? 4. TRY NEW FEATURES: As said before, social platforms are constantly changing and adding new & exciting features that could benefit your company. Keeping up with and taking advantage of these changes could mean more followers, more website visitors, and ultimately more leads. You can find out about updates on social media blogs or even on the platform’s own news feed. Follow feeds/turn on notifications to stay informed of features. 5. BECOME A SHARER: Sharing content is crucial to social media. Your “followers” want to receive updates and interesting information and be able to pass it on. If you don’t have a blog, start one. Original content promoting your company/industry is a valuable tool as it can be shared across all social platforms!
