UXBRiDGE - Helen M. (Lisak) Nedoroscik, 88, passed away Aug. 31, at Milford Hospital after an illness. Her husband of 63 years John S. Nedoroscik died Feb. 9, 2010. She is survived by a brother Walter B. Lisak of Whitinsville; and several nephews and nieces including Linda P. Olney of Attleboro, Barbara Marshall of Douglas, and Mary Roberts in Rhode island. She was sister of the late Leona Jones, Sophie Mota, John Lisak, Joseph Lisak,Stanley Lisak, and Charles Lisak. Born in Palmer MA, on May 17, 1924 she was the daughter of Louis and Anna (Klimek) Lisak and lived in Uxbridge all her life. Mrs. Nedoroscik was a local textile worker and eventually supervisor at the Stanley Woolen Co. and Borroco Co. in Uxbridge many years. She enjoyed crochet and will be remembered for her devotion to her late husband John. She was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Turgeon UXBRiDGE/LiNWOOD - Marcel E. Turgeon, 95, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He is survived by his niece with whom he lived, Helen Guertin and her husband Tom, 3 sisters Geanne Boulanger of Burwick, ME, Monique Desmarias of Summersworth, NH, and Lucie Middleton of San Jose, CA and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. His wife of 60 years, Palma T. (Couture) Turgeon passed away on Oct. 3, 2008. He is also predeceased by a brother Gean Paul Turgeon and 2 sisters Rita Turgeon and Berthild Michaud. Born in Dover, NH on Mar. 29, 1917 he was the son of Alfred and Azilda (Corriveau) Turgeon and lived in Linwood for 63 years. Marcel was a graduate of the Dover School System and the Machantos Business College in Dover, NH. He was a member of the Mumford Council 365 Knights of Columbus, the Meadow View Rod & Gun Club and served on the Bereavement Committee at both Good Shepherd Church and St. Patrick’s Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Corporal during WWii. He was a French interpreter and was decorated by the French Air Force as an honorary member of the French Curtorce.
Milot UXBRiDGE - Vivian G. (Departie) Milot, 90, passed away Aug. 29, at Lydia Taft House after an illness. Her husband of 53 years, Joffre A. "Jeff" Milot died Aug. 3, 1996. Her daughter Judith A. Knox died in 1977 and she is survived by 4 sons John A. Milot of Uxbridge, Paul R. Milot of Lancaster, PA, Charles A. Milot of Kingston, MA and Mark J. Milot of Mendon; 4 grandchildren Jennifer Korz, Thomas Knox, Jaime Salger, and Jason Milot; 3 great-grandchildren Gabrielle, Ellery and Arden; many nephews and nieces; her cousin Kenneth Guertin; and she was sister of the late Evelina "Vena" Nulty, Clair Departie, Leo Departie, Wilfred ""Mike" Departie, and Walter Departie. Born in Uxbridge on Apr. 25, 1922 she was the daughter of William and Dora (Guertin) Departie and lived here all of her life. Vivian was a mender in the textile wool industry working for several area companies including the Uxbridge Worsted Wool Co., Hayward-Shuster Woolen Co., and Stanley Woolen Co. before her retirement in 1987. She loved music especially Lawrence Welk and polkas. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; for her French Canadian heritage, her strong work ethic, and for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She spent much time with and was often seen together with her sister Claire. She attended Linwood and Uxbridge schools and was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Drtina UXBRiDGE – Robert William Drtina, 54, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sept. 2, within 200 yards of his home while riding with his very good friend; who is broken hearted at the loss. Mr. Drtina was married to Barbara E. McGuinness-Drtina. Robert was born in Philadelphia, PA to Arnold and the late Jacquelyn (Wileman) Drtina. Bob was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Web industries in Holliston. He was a 1977 graduate of Pennridge High School. Bob loved his Philadelphia Eagles, Harley-Davidsons and his cat. As well as an avid car enthusiast, he loved his friends and enjoyed his garden. Mr. Drtina was also a social bowler at Shrewsbury Lanes.
Robert devoted much time and energy to raising thousands of dollars for the American Lung Association; a cause for which he was very devoted. Mr. Drtina will be sorely missed by his loving wife, his son Robert W. Jr., and daughter Brandi all of Windsor, CO; his wife’s son William, his wife Kirsten; & Mandie of Woonsocket, Ri. Robert is also survived by a brother Jon, his wife Amy, and their daughter Caitlin of Missouri and brother Thomas of California. Robert had five adorable grandchildren Alyssa, Owen and Blake of Windsor, CO and Kapri and Braedyn of Woonsocket, Ri. Bob had many dear friends who always stayed by his side.
Davis WHiTiNSViLLE - P. Timothy Davis, 52, passed away at Milford Regional Medical Center on Sept. 6, unexpectedly. He is survived by his girlfriend of 7 years Alice Tekut; 2 daughters Amber Davis-Polisher and her husband Evan of Worcester and Amanda B. Cooley of Hopedale; a sister-in-law Lydia Davis; a niece Megan Davis; 2 cousins, and many friends. He was brother of the late J. Michael Davis, John “JJ” Davis and Sharon Davis. He was predeceased by former companions Kathy A. (Cain) Danforth and Maureen M. Cooley. Born in Milford on Jan. 17, 1960 he was the son of James J. and Ruth E. (Jones) Davis and lived in Uxbridge and Whitinsville most of his life. He was a graduate of Uxbridge High School, Class of 1978. A longtime roofer, Tim was a member of the Local Roofer’s Union #33 in Boston until 2005. He worked for many area construction companies including Hammerhead Construction in Whitinsville. He enjoyed motorcross and was a fan of the Boston Bruins.
Rosati UXBRiDGE – William A. Rosati, 77, passed away Sept.6, at the Blaire House of Worcester. He was the husband of Lois T. (Cahill) Rosati for 52 years. Mr. Rosati was employed as a truck driver for over 20 years at Quality Beverage in Taunton. He was born Feb. 7, 1935 in Hopedale, the son of the late Ciro and Elsa (Mazzanti) Rosati. He attended the Hopedale school system and the Worcester Boys Trade High School. Mr. Rosati served in the U.S. Army.He was a member of the italian American War Veterans, Milford Post #40. in addition to his wife Lois, he is survived by his children, one daughter Lynn M. and her husband Brian Patrinelli of Whitinsville; two sons, Steven P. and his wife Priscilla Rosati of Blackstone and William J. and his wife Judith Rosati of Milford; a sister Angelina Pilla of East Falmouth and 6 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Angelo Rosati.
Scungio MiLLViLLE – James A. Scungio, 83, passed away Sept. 8, at home after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Larson) Scungio. A lifelong resident of Millville, Mr. Scungio was employed for 35 years at the former Draper Corp. in Hopedale, retiring in 1978. He later worked at the Sheldonville Nursing Home in Wrentham for 11 years until 1989. He was born Jan. 9, 1929 in Millville the son of the late Giacommo and Sarah (Trementozzi) Scungio. He was a member of St. Augustine’s Church and an avid furniture refinisher. He is survived by five children, Diane M. and her husband Deven Seidler of
Worcester, James A. and his wife Barbara Scungio of Uxbridge, Joseph A. and his wife Mary Scungio of Millville, John T. and his wife Lisa Scungio of Harrisville, Ri and Donna M. Scungio-Sheehan and her husband Chester Sheehan of Millville; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Anthony G. Scungio; four sisters Anna ianiero, Emma Mancini, Mary Conte, and Elvira Mancini, and a grandson Joseph A. Scungio, Jr.
Gomes UXBRiDGE – Caysee M. Gomes, 16, passed away Sept. 10, in Children’s Hospital, Boston after a brief illness. She was born in Norwood in 1995 and attended the ivy School in Brookline. She had lived in Uxbridge for the past 8 years and enjoyed music, art, and animals. As a naturally social person, she loved time spent with family and friends. Caysee is survived by her mother Dionne M. Gomes of Uxbridge; her two brothers Christopher P. Gomes and Corey M. Gomes both of Uxbridge; her father Christopher Dighton of Salisbury; her maternal grandmother Patricia Gomes of Natick; an aunt Maureen Gomes of Framingham, and cousins. She was predeceased by a cousin Ashley Gomes and an Aunt Michelle Gomes. more obituaries appear on page 10
