The Brief Create a range of at least four greetings cards based on a theme to submit to YCN. After doing so, extend the brief to create a full gift range based on the cards.

Concept The concept is based on a personal love of animals and the fact the majority of people have a favourite animal too. With such a broad theme, the products should be able to cover a vast target audience. The products have a hand rendered aspect to them in order to create high quality and unique outcomes.

Target Audience Male and female: 14 - 30

Colour The colours used within the backgrounds of the greetings cards are based on colours taken from the illustrations. By utilising this technique a bold yet sophisticated range that suits a wide target audience has been created. I have also applied a texture within the background but only subtle so not to detract from the imagery. This gives the design as a whole more depth.

Center To further add to the quality, the greetings cards will have a paper center with part of the illustration applied to it so it does not look as plain and links to the rest of the design. There is plenty of space allowing the consumer to write as much or as little as they please.

Range To go alongside the greetings card there is a full gift range including gift bags, gift boxes, wrapping paper, gift tags and tissue paper. Each invidual animal set links together through the use of particular imagery taken from the card design and also colour. The bags and boxes would be available in three different sizes and the one pictured is medium. The particular theme chosen for the products also means that the range could be extended beyond these animals to include more.

Context There would be a seperate section within the store to display the products in order to really showcase this new range. The cards would be in typical greetings card stands alongside the wrapping paper and the bags would be hung from a hanger in the wall with the boxes placed on a shelving so all the products are easily accessible. For initial launch of the product there would be a themed window display based around the animal designs above.

Wrapping paper, gift boxes, gift tags and gift bags. The design for all three of these products is based on the greetings card design. Particular parts of the imagery have been utilised to create repeat patterns to be applied in various ways to these products in order to make them work as a range. All of the products within the range would be branded either underneath or on the back so the design is the focus as well as including the barcode on packaging instead of product for the same reason.
