Royal night out as Aoife is crowned regatta queen

Mum and daughter in epic battle ONE Killarney family faced that age-old dilemma of divided loyalties as two rivalling clubs were represented in the O’Connor household. Mother and daughter Kate and Caoimhe O’Connor went head to head on Lough Leane as they rowed against one another to bring glory to their respective clubs in Killarney Regatta on Monday. Kate took the oar with Flesk Valley, competing against her daughter, Caoimhe, with Muckross.
CONGRATULATIONS to Aoife Farrell of Muckross Rowing Club who accepted the coveted title Killarney Regatta Queen on Tuesday. The coronation took place at the regatta dance at the Killarney Oaks Hotel where Aoife’s win topped a hugely successful two days for her club, as Muckross was also celebrating its 10 wins at the regatta on Monday.
Ann Tangney and Kathy Brosnan of Killarney Regatta committee presented Aoife with her prize and applause also rang out for the runners-up, Sara O'Brien (Fossa), Miriam Fleming (Flesk Valley), Karen Parker (St Brendan’s) and Leona Browne (Workmen).
