Pres girls turn back time

WELL, the soundtrack has certainly changed from when the likes of The Bangles and Simply Red were topping the charts, but that didn’t stop the fun as the St Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School Leaving Certificate class of 1989 reunited at the weekend. Friendships were renewed as the past pupils travelled back in time. The Class of ’89 reunion took place in The Brehon Hotel, Killarney, where a drinks reception was followed by dinner.

Catwalk show is a stylish success DEDICATED followers of fashion in Killarney generated an impressive €18,101 at the recent Models in Recovery catwalk event. The models, with Majella O’Donnell as MC, strutted their stuff at the INEC in aid of the Killarney branch of the Kerry Hospice Foundation. "We greatly appreciate the generosity of all who attended on the night and those who purchased tickets but were unable to attend,” said Pat Doolan, chairman of the Killarney branch of the Kerry Hospice Foundation. “A big thank you to the courageous models, the participating shops, hair and makeup stylists, our sponsors, INEC staff, ticket sellers, our hardworking committee and all who assisted us in any way. Grateful thanks also to our special guest and compere Majella O'Donnell and fashion designer Don O'Neill for the fantastic designer outfit donation.” Pat added: “We would like to take the opportunity of expressing our condolences to the O'Connor Family, Tralee on the sad passing of Tommy Frank O'Connor, RIP. “Frank had been with us since the first show three years ago and, though in failing health, he courageously came on board as a model again this year. To his wife Sheila and their children we extend our heartfelt sympathies. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dhilis."
