Industry Dinner

Sponsored by Amber Electric

The Melbourne International EV AutoShow 2025 Industry Leaders Dinner brought together over 40 senior executives from major automotive OEMs, media leaders, and industry pioneers at The Langham Melbourne for an evening that perfectly captured the collaborative spirit driving Australia's EV revolution.

Dan Adams, Founder and CEO of Amber Electric, delivered a compelling presentation on Vehicle-to-Grid technology, sharing real results from Amber's ARENA-funded trials where EV owners are already earning hundreds of dollars during electricity price spikes. His vision of Australian homeowners with EVs and solar becoming the country's largest distributed energy resource resonated throughout the room, sparking conversations that moved beyond traditional industry boundaries.

The relaxed atmosphere facilitated genuine dialogue about Australia's path to a greener future, with new partnerships and collaborations forming organically around shared tables. Representatives from Polestar, XPENG, BYD, Zeekr, Leapmotor, and other leading OEMs found common ground with energy sector leaders, media influencers like Tom Gan and Riz Akhtar. The evening demonstrated that Australia's EV ecosystem has matured from individual competition to industry-wide collaboration on national transformation, setting the foundation for accelerated adoption of sustainable transport and renewable energy integration. “Future Drive has once again proven itself as an exceptional automotive event – a powerful platform where customers can truly discover, drive, and buy. The event seamlessly brings together innovation and engagement, offering exhibitors the perfect environment to showcase their full product range to a highly qualified and motivated audience. It’s not just an exhibition – it’s a results-driven experience that delivers real value for both customers and brands."

I learned some surprising things and it was great to be able to compare and contrast vehicles on display...I thought the panels were well populated with experts having a variety of specialities - I got some great answers to several burning questions... I’ll definitely be back!

So many brands and vehicles under one roof and the opportunity to glance at upcoming models or overseas models, combined with being able to touch n feel was brilliant!

“It was a great exposure to different EV and new brands. Got to learn the difference between different brands and technology. And also, much information about leasing opportunities was available.”

“It’s great to see a growing number of brands stepping up to participate in the Melbourne EV Show!...The takeaway is clear: to establish a lasting presence in Australia, brands must focus on building trust and catering to their audience effectively.”

“It was fantastic to see the crowd engaged in what we had to say. A number of people also came up to me after the panels to further discuss points I had brought up.”

“It was a great way to spend part of the day, I got to sit in some cars I wouldn’t normally sit in, like the luxury Zeekr 009 people mover, and a Lamborghini. I even got to geek out watching and listening to famous YouTube EV panellists. It was a great day!”

“I went to Melbournel EV Show not really knowing what to expect. It has opened up a whole new world of interest for me! The future looks exciting.”

“It was great to see such a great range of EV products in reality. Coming from outside the city it’s hard to get EV access. So having so much product in one location saved a lot of time in searching for an EV.” T E S T I M O N I A L S

“Great to see EVs becoming more prominent. I dragged an ICE-fan friend there! it was good to go through all the tech. The lines between traditional luxury and features in some of the new EVs are starting to blur...consumers will get more choice, and this can only be a good thing.”
